I bought some 4x4 around that size for around 120 bucks including a couple cheap lipo batteries. It had the same kind of parts and cheap springs like that did. The landings were pretty rough. That being said, it had some pretty darn good get up and go! It would run for about 15 minutes on each battery. For the money it wasn't really half bad at all. Downer side was it was too close to my heater and melted the plastic rims. I'd have replaced them, but regular rc rims were too large to fit on it. I ended up putting a bigger battery on it and shorted it out. I ended up tossing it out in the end. I did have fun with it while it lasted.
I´d be very interested to see some back-to-back, before-and-after footage of this tackling a series of obstacles with no mods other than trimming the steering linkage, fitting real shocks and swapping to decent tyres...
I'd even give WD-40 bag soaking the stock tires a try if they can be peeled from the rims easy enough, sometimes its surprisingly good results. edit: if so (peelable)... yes wrap the rims solder+tape, ditch some chassis weights to give it a chance with lower C/G, more flex, and a lower all up weight. cheapo that it is, with some real world inexpensive practical mods, it might do really well.

Always an interesting watch on your channel Phil! As always, this thing is made down to a price, but some good points in there too. The body looks good, amazed at the chassis flex! I've seen a few cheap and easy mods done to these. Cool to see what you do to it mate.
definitely, just 1/4" to 3/8" taller with some softness would do it wonders, same for ditching weight on the chassis and putting weight to the rims instead. hopefully the manufacturer sees comments like this and does some tinkering to improve them as suggested, I get it that the molds have already been created and going new would be expensive plus it'd cause down-time for production. chassis stiffness could be improved with a little different type plastic being injected, going plastic friction damped shocks, longer with lighter springs... MN-D90 style stock cheapo's wouldn't be a mold making nightmare, they ARE a little too bouncy for MN-D90 as got, those would need slightly lighter springs and less clearance for more friction to happen.

for the heavier ones they're really perfect for single 180 motor power. MN-D90 definitely qualifies as heavier (top heavy too unfortunately). the old WPL stock #316 gearbox: C-24 here is two "69'd" together with a 130 powering each axle, the C-14 (just built) got "HobbyDaddy" dual 130 motors with his "just add a motor" method. I know I can't be the only one who commented for several months about the #316 gearbox not having a low enough ratio, is totally fixable if they would re-do counter gear #1, counter gear #2, and the gear on the output spindle, just enough to lose 15-20% of the speed in favor of a little more torque. I don't own a TRX4...but I'm sure the body is an exact replica..ie with the external roll cage and red accessories and colour. But yes..the rest is not anything like it.
I really wish people understood the difference between a clone and a knockoff. This is NOT a clone of a TRX4, it’s a knockoff. A clone will be a copy with parts that are interchangeable between the two. A knockoff looks like another RC but doesn’t have parts that are interchangeable and is meant to fool people into thinking they’re getting something that they’re not. You’re only helping that dishonest practice by calling it a clone instead of a knockoff.
oh no, the trx4 is a copy of the real car you know. How dare they do that. This RC car is no copy of the trx4, not much is same design? the shell needs to look like the real car.
@@TomleyRC it does not have a 2 speed tranny, portal axles, or lockable diffs...the defining features of the trx4. this a generic scale crawler w no special features, so its a 'clone' of dozens of other that models stretching back 10+ years. good youtube channel but a lousy video title.

This is smaller than a TRX4
@@TomleyRC It is like oversize WPL and overpriced, all is in outside looks, inside is junky toy, For Same price you can get Redcat E10 of for a few bucks more Redcat Gen7, both real crawlers not this trash. I guess you can't say anything real bad or Bangood will stop sending you toys to review.
I give honest reviews mate, plenty of stuff on my channel that I've given bad reviews. And on this one if you watch the whole video you'll see plenty of times where I say about the quality of it..ie the crap suspension and poor steering. I recommend it for kids to tag along with their parents TRX4 😎👍 Yes, there probably is better stuff out there...and again, I say this in the video 😉
hello ... is it really 1:10 scale? ... in the videos I've seen, it looks a little smaller ... most of the videos are in English and I don't know English, I only use the internet translator. could you tell me if you really have the measures 1:10 .. greetings from chile
Hi Elvis, it's about 1/11th Scale, so yes, it is a little smaller than 1/10 Scale.
Nothing of this looks like a TRX-4.. Yes it looks like a LandRover Defender 110. There are more version of a TRX-4 than the D110.. To be clone the chassis would need to look and work the same
I don't own a TRX4...but I'm sure the body is an exact replica..ie with the external roll cage and red accessories and colour. But yes..the rest is not anything like it.
What are you talking about Simon? I have a trx-4 defender and this chinese cheapo sure is copy of that body with all those accessories
Is it the same size same as a TRX4?
Smaller 👍
Tell me, the gears inside the metal? Gearbox, bridge ...
Not sure, but I think plastic
Hi..
Can you swap the transmission gearbox with axial scx10? Thanks
I don't think so. Its a completely different chassis 👍
@@TomleyRC Ok thanks. My ideas are ruined. Lol
Why does it sound like Darth Vader having a cough....
haha, yeah, that motor is pretty loud on take off!
How long wheelbase this RC?
Very stronge
I really wish people understood the difference between a clone and a knockoff. This is NOT a clone of a TRX4, it’s a knockoff. A clone will be a copy with parts that are interchangeable between the two. A knockoff looks like another RC but doesn’t have parts that are interchangeable and is meant to fool people into thinking they’re getting something that they’re not. You’re only helping that dishonest practice by calling it a clone instead of a knockoff.
What copy ... Man, take your eyes open
oh no, the trx4 is a copy of the real car you know. How dare they do that. This RC car is no copy of the trx4, not much is same design? the shell needs to look like the real car.
Pile
It's need shock upgrade
Video Friday ;)
@@TomleyRC Yeah, with soft shock upgrade it will look like real adventure car
The shell fit on the trx-4?
Drift Master Smaller than a TRX4 👍🏻
Is it real 1:10 scale?
5:29
this is junk for a little more money you can get the FTX kanyon which is actually pretty good
The FTX is ok, but as with anything, you get what you pay for. 👍
just because it looks from the body like a trx4...😂 doesn't make it a clone
Not a clone.
Clone - someone or something that looks very much like someone or something else.
@@jtet9559 Unfortunately you have to try and be creative with titles and thumbnails, otherwise your video just gets lost amongst the millions... I try not to be to 'click baity'...but sometimes you have be a little to get people to click on it. I watched another video of this before I got mine and every other comment was 'It's a TRX4!'... 'it looks like a TRX4'...etc... so makes sense to label it like I have done. I know it's nothing like a TRX4 apart from the body. Cheers for watching anyway. 😎👍
So this company can literally copy an entire car and traxxas does nothing, but when ARRMA uses a similar suspension design they get sued?🤔
Jamie Fehr Yeah, the Chinese are pretty much untouchable on this sort of stuff.
Good review, bit too cheap little child toy !
Would've sued them
Only in America 👌
🌷💕💕💕👍🏻
Hb toys
try driving it scale. i bet it cant
Drives ok 👍🏻 ruclips.net/video/ohCF5UMjVPw/видео.html
IF you want a budget RC crawler hobby grade and not a toy like this watch for Saturn electronic market Carson MB MC 10 99 Euro .
Show,,,,,,,,,,,,
I like your videos but seriously, I have to take issue with you about attributing shipping damage to china as if they were the only party handling the delivery all the way to your door. I am not from china but this is just irritating as it is not fair. I have plenty of parcels damaged by Royal mail and USPS. So ya.
If I order 100 items from Modelsport in the UK, and 100 Items from Banggood...I reckon maybe 1 would be damaged from Modelsport and probably about 30 from Banggood. It's completely fair to attribute the damage to China Post, as well as the lack of packing from the companies shipping them out.
No thanks, way too much plastic.. especially the axle gears.
Junk . It's scream sweet sour chicken lol but you know they're all made in Taiwan and China
No fake nothing ...have enough problem from well known companies.....lame
Some classic china cheap shit... but looks good :o)
Completely useless, but looks good.......which can be said for my 'Reality' TV stars 😂
Piece of junk with a decent body. Only related to the TRX-4 in that is has four wheels.
four wheels.....and it's mostly plastic... don't forget that part, oh... and made in China 😬
Crappy
