This is why every single person who says, “ SNL hasn’t been funny since X.” is just old.
Great if you find this funny, but please don’t act like this was some legendary comedy. It’s a one-note sketch and if you weren’t alive or watching when it aired, it’s not funny at all. Your memories and nostalgia make it funny for you. It’s objectively bad, subjectively funny.

So I'm from Detroit which has a VERY prominent staple of Greek-run/founded restaurants known as Coney Islands. They're a place that serve breakfast foods, diner food, and the famous Coney Dog - a hot dog with chili, mustard and onion on it. Today I sat down at one of the two places that claim to be "the original" (and they're next door to each other by the way). It was exactly like this place - older Greek man loudly yelling out orders to cooks ("TWO ON ONE, I NEED FRY") while casually going back to talking to patrons before loudly belittling employees over things ("MAKE MORE FRY WE HAVE CUSTOMER"). Kept thinking of this the whole time I was there.

There was a Greek Diner in Mineola Long Island that was the living incarnation. Every time I waited on line to order I would pucker up.

Stuart Wood to think they could remember “cheeseburger, Pepsi, coke” and repeat it 109 times over the course of the skit, is a true testement to the times.

Here would have been a good reason for why they only served cheeseburgers, chips, and Pepsi: A food vendor calls to ask what type of food they need, and Niko (Bill Murray) answers the phone and all he can say is "cheeseburger," so that's what they got. Which would explain Pete's (John Belushi) reason for saying "Got to make turnover," they have so many cheeseburgers to sell before they spoil.
