They really do look like little aliens during this stage. A lot of people don't realize that most bugs that go through a similar process like this literally shed their skin. Over and over. And each time, they burst out of their skin in a new form. Predator much? 😅
How long does it take for the Superworm to get to the alien (pupa) part? I just found 1 in my beardie's habitat and it scared the crap out of me. Also can or would my beardie be able to eat the pupa? Thanks for the video!
It's not listed in our notes, but we believe the time lapse was between 12 - 16 hours. The pupas will start to get darker legs when they are ready to metamorph. So we were waiting for their legs to darken before starting the time lapse video.

i know this is 8 months late so useless, but darkling beetles are fine for the enviroment if you release them, sorry its misspelled i'm on a computer.

What did you do with the beetle?
They help eat old food in the tank not to many tho or pet can become food especially if it dies or something that hangs out still as if it's dead
