in a similar case to this, the SSUPD meshlicious, the temps are quite good, especially with a custom loop.
Yes build a computer using that case but make it for video editing to hell with all these gamers.

Lian Li always does things to keep you interested, they seem to innovate consistently, and i love them for that!
Back in the mid 2000s Lian Li and Antec were making cases people wanted but came with a price while Thermaltake and Cooler Master would be the cost effective options and were built with better quality than the mid-range stuff we see from them today. Thankfully Lian Li and anything made with aluminium has come down in cost quite a bit, shame though that Antec hasn't really been too relevant these days.
My two favorite case brands are InWin(current case is a sexy white 303) & Lian Li, they both just know how to strike the right balance of interesting & unique layouts that aren't just gimmicky, build quality, and price. I mean, I REALLY like brands like Fractal, Cooler Master, BeQuiet - but when it comes time to actually buy something, I always find myself looking at InWin & Lian Li when it's all said and done.
(still REALLY want to build a HTPC in an Evolve Shift though, really dig the thin vertical over-under design)
LianLi has established itself very well over time and has become one of the best PC case manufacturers in the world. Rightly so... on top of the good quality, good performance and engineering, they are not overpriced. Of course, I use an O-11 Dynamic myself. I love it. Best buy ever.

I would love to see a build in this case. ITX is such a fun thing to work in, just to see what can be accomplished with so little space.
I really feel like ITX doesn't get enough love. For me personally, something about a computer being super small and yet being super powerful, has always been intriguing.
Why should they get any love? heat kills PC. ITX kills PC. Simple as that. PC life drops 3-4 years just building an ITX build
It's a fun challenge to cram as much power as possible into a small case without overheating everything.
I get the attraction towards a compact system, personally my preferred case is the o11 with a full atx board. ITX is just too much of a pain in the ass and you start getting heating issues. performance is always my top priority before form factor
mATX is what really doesn't get enough love. There's a lot of iTX cases and options, but mATX has a lot less.
Because it doesn't really deserve more love. It's a form factor that gives up performance and utility to save a little more space. Oh and it's "cute". There is really nothing comparatively better about it unless you are hooking it up in a cupboard under the stairs. It's just a niche novelty.
the 011 Dynamic is obviously the cliché (I have one myself sitting around for when I finally get a 3090), but Lain Li cases in general are pretty well thought out, and this case is just a demonstration of the little details they add that make building in them just that much nicer without needing to get too heavily into modding the case or finding other accessories you need to make a build work.
Ooooh! I've been wanting to build in this case. Would be very nice to see how high-end parts perform and what the thermals look like.
This is why I watch, the excitement on Jayz face when he sees "pretty screws" and a piece of metal you can create harmonics on! 🤭
That ssd slot is kool and I loved Phil's idea of a game per drive considering how large games are now. Like the SD cards for the switch!

I got genuinely excited about that ssd slot. Also, Cthulhu Saves the World has a joke when you save about not removing or disassembling your hard drive. This case makes that an actual possibility.
Would love a no-glass, all-mesh version of this case. I'm not big into RGB, so not needing the premium of glass.

I was thinking exactly the same thing as I was watching the video. You can probably order additional mesh panels from Lian Li. You would still see RGB, but it would obviously be diffused, which may be a nice different look anyway. Having the entire box "glow" on the inside without actually seeing the pieces generating the color would be kinda awesome, I think.
I am sure they will offer both as options to purchase separately. I kinda like the all mesh on one side and all glass on the other. If you can find a way to water cool both cpu and gpu, the glass would be awesome on the gpu side or air cool the cpu with the mesh sides and then water cool the gpu with the glass. I doubt there is enough space for radiators to water cool both, but that would be badass! 240/280 would be fine for either part, but not both unless maybe if the rest of the fan slots had crazy strong fans blowing tons of air to feed the radiator fans. Just spit balling.

8:50 it would be cool to have a temp controlled motor that opens the sides when it reaches a certain temp... for cool effect, add in some vapor, leds, and creepy sounds
That wouldn't be that difficult. Jay mentioned an Arduino, but a $4 Raspberry Pi Pico could do it just fine.

The versatility of that case is awesome. You can seemingly do almost anything. Aside from liquid cooling. I can't see that being possible. Not enough room.
As far as doing a build in it... Absolutely.
I think you could do 1 or the other but don't have enough rad space for both. I think a water cooled gpu would be awesome with a sweet air cooler on the cpu. I agree that both isn't possible but would be awesome if you could pull it off and if anyone could, it would be Jay.

Got one of these cases, came from a nr200 and don't regret it it's an awesome case
That hot swap 2.5" drive is amazing and would be really usable for Video recorders like the Ninja V which need a hard drive dock to pull the files off.
or as an htpc's bluray/4K movies/music collection; being accessible like that is sweet. I think I found my Christmas present for my living room tv

@@avroarchitect1793 3D print a translucent case for a SSD with the top handle of a gameboy cartridge. Solder on a LED to the SATA data transmit pad. Then paint the case blue and tint the glass. Blue fans and a blue GPU shroud. Oh man that would be cool.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Lan-Cool II case. Its a big sumbitch and holds all the guts of my new butch gaming PC. Keeps things cool and has doors and glass in all the right places. I keep a slight positive pressure so its stayed very clean inside - about a year running 24/7 at this point.
I love how Lian Li makes you build PC more enjoyable like solving a puzzle.

For these size cases I’d love to see Jay doing a build in it for the review, I’m still waiting for the right close to small form factor that would make me consider going smaller than a regular size atx. There’s not really any reason not to go that size I have a reasonable size desk but I can see reasons to want a smaller case smaller is better if it’s as functional of course,
I have never been one for small cases, but this one is tempting. Nice job beating Steve to this one! Maybe a collab to figure out just how good you two can tune the form and function. You work a new build, after Steve figures out the best cooling configurations. After you get Lian Li to sponsor it, of course.

After watching countless reviews on your channel among others I recently rebuilt my system in the Lian Li O11D -XL Case, previously coming from my Phanteks Enthoo M. My god, Lian Li has their shit together.

@@AtomikMenace I also have the O-11 (in white), but the XL was too big for my space. I absolutely love it. Best case I've ever owned. Very heavy though. Feels like they made it out of iron. lol
@@TheOneTonHammer I considered the xl but went regular in white also. It's perfect really. Not a huge case but the space is optimized to do pretty much whatever you want, including vertical mounting a huge gpu of so desired. I really do love the case
I just built I this case today! I had so much trouble attaching a 120 fan in the bottom as intake. But over all very happy

Just released in the UK. I pre-ordered and it arrived on release day. I am now building a full, hard-line custom in loop in it, Jay didn't say much about the bottom panel - that is where the 3 1/2 inch drive sled goes or you can put a fan there, but I am fitting a 120mm slim rad and slim fan there to complement the 280mm up top. For 280 mm you have to put the fans in the top cage as pull and mount the rad below them, as the cage won't accommodate the length of the 280 rad including the inlet atrium (unless you can find a rad with a really short atrium, I couldn't). A 240mm rad will fit completely in the cage so you can mount with fans push below it or pull above. I'm using a shorter GPU and waterblock so there is room for a small, vertically-mounted DDC/res combo or you could squeeze in a D5/res if careful. I'm still early enough in my planning that I could go that way too, haven't decided yet. For the very largest/longest GPUs (on air) you might have to remove the front I/O mount and the hot-swap 2.5" bay and do with out them. You must remove the top cover before you can open the side top wings, so Jay's arduino idea would be much more complicated.

I am currently using this case for my new pc build and I love the small size of it.
Cooling is also okay with 240mm AIO and a 5900x + 3070, in game the cpu gets to about 60c and the gpu 50-55c. I already ordered the kit with 2 more mesh panels, so that the side with the motherboard/cou/powersupply gets more fresh air and I think the temperatures will get even more better.
Honestly with that much horsepower heating up your room it’s better to get a cheap window AC unit. After a certain point it doesn’t matter how many fans you have the ambient air is too hot.
@@markm0000 It depends where you live in, in my city the average temperature is about 16-20c, so the heat up from the pc isn’t a problem and in the summer (between 25-30c) I don’t play games.
I have a ac unit, but when I’m feeling to warm I just open up a window :D
@@markm0000 yeah i know the feeling. I have a 5800x and a 3070TI, in an SM580. I also have a WD AN1500 SSD cause it was on sale at the time for like 50% off. It's a toasty little beast. With my fans set to silent my CPU is usually in the 60's and the GPU is in the mid 70's. But i'm putting together a Water cooled set up. I originally didn't care too, but I saw a CPU water block that i loved the design of, and now i'm starting to piece together a set up.

Thanks for your content. Thanks to your videos i understand PC building enough to want to attempt my own build. I gathered a bunch of older generation components but i figured it would be great practice. I'll be using an MSI GEFORCE GTX 970 Golden Edition GPU that i found brand new at a storage shed auction. I also found two brand new EVGA NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 980 KINGPIN Edition GPU's. The components I've gathered are compatible with the 980's however I'm looking to use the 970 first then I'll go about gathering other components to use for the 980's. I figure the more PC's i have the opportunity to build the better.
That's awesome. You're 100% correct that the more you build, the better you will be. It's like anything else, practice make you better. I built my first pc back in 1997 or 98, yes, I'm dating myself horribly, but it was awesome. After finding Jay's channel very early on, I was inspired to get into water cooling and built my first custom loop with a 4790k and 2 MSI GTX 970 Gaming cards and haven't looked back since. I have now built over 50 PC's with at least 15 of them having custom water loops. I will warn you, it is addictive though. 😆 It's so much fun and you take so much more pride in your computer if you build it yourself. I wish you the best with your build(s) and if you have any questions, helping others is the second best part of getting into this, so please don't hesitate to reach out to myself, or most people in Jay's comment section. For the most part, his followers are some of the best and most helpful people out there.
That case is really cool. I like the interchangeability of the mesh/glass side-panels,. The included fan/rgb hub and the power supply mounting bracket are superb additions for a small case such as this. ITX motherboards and peripherals have come a long way and if I hadn't just bought a new MOBO/CPU combo, last x-mas, I would really be interested in a new build using this case. Even though we never got to see the black case, I'm betting that the white one still looks better. I like black/gunmetal-grey, but that white mini-itx is smokin'...
you should totally make an emulator build out of that guy, then have a hot swappable drive per emulated system.
That’d be cool with cheap old SSDs because emulators don’t take up much space. It’d really be best for new games that are +100gb each to save on drive wear.
Pretty cool. I love my nr200p. The way manufacturers have started making these itx cases with all removable panels makes them easier to build in that most ATX cases.
This case looks amazing I wonder if lian LI sells the glass panels separately so if you go full custom water cooling you could do both sides in glass

@@jeffreymonarch1095 ggf events actually did a fully water cooled build in this case with just one 240 or 280 mm rad and a cooler on the pump I didn't catch what his thermals we're like but he was running a reference 3080and an Intel CPU
@@jeffreymonarch1095 You could make a custom loop for the CPU and GPU then put full glass panels on both sides. You’d need beefy exhaust fans to really get the air moving but it’s not impossible.

I would love to see that, especially if it could provide enough cooling to be practical. I love pushing the limits to see what can be achieved, especially in such a small form factor.

I'd love to see you doing a build in this one! But if you do, please do an advanced build with custom water cooling for CPU and GPU, I'd really like to learn how to do those builds in such a small case!
I honestly convinced my mum, that she don’t need a laptop, if she is only using it on her desk. There are so many options to build a tiny PC for Office and sorting family photos.
It's probably a little expensive for that but would definitely work and look sweet doing it.
I wish I knew about this case when I built an ITX computer for my sister. I have no complaints about the case I used but this case is next level!

Lian Li been killing it with the airflow focused mesh cases. Bought a Lancool ii Mesh for my work horse PC and pretty satisfied with the thermals and ease of build.
Please discuss/review reversible (inverted) cases. I've always kept my tower to my left and have been recently considering getting a case that allows me to see my components, but there are painfully few reviews or discussions about them.
One day Jay is finally gonna come across the SFF/ITX beauty of a case that is the FormD T1 and I cannot wait for that day

Yes I'd love to see a build in this case. One thing that bugs me with all windowed cases is the they are designed to sit on the right side of your desk. Meaning the window to see inside can only be seen if the pc sits on the right hand side of you desk. For my desk setup I need a left hand side visible window so that the pc can sit on the left side of my desk. Manufacturers should make there cases have the option to swap the top panel with the bottom panel so that the pc can be assembled in a handed fashion. This one is a sandwich design so you have to decide do I want to see my cpu or do I want to see my gpu.
You need to build an inverted PC my man. There are a few pretty badass inverted cases out there but most you can change the layout of the GPU as well

I really really like the Lancool Mesh 2 that I got for my build this year, by far the best case I've ever had.
Lian Li has been killing it in the $100-200 range for a while now. Love my Lancool 2. All Noctua air cooling in a 3700x/3090fe combo and nothing ever gets above 60C while gaming.
Mod a Star Wars Imperial Shuttle in this case, with the folding wings/ motorized side panels. That was the first thing that came to me when you said motorized side panels.
That's pretty great... I would like to see you do another video showing a "full build" with that case....

We do a MSI B550i gaming edge wifi. It has TWO m.2 slots and a fan cooler for the m.2 Gen4 and a PCIe x4 slot
128g XPG sx6000 lite OS m.2 in Gen 3 w/ thermal pads which will touch the sub frame > 1TB s50 M.2 for Gen4 for D: storage
32g (2x16g) 3200 XPG D50 mem CL 16.
R7 5700G but the case and MOBO can fit a 2.5 slot PCIe x 4 so you could use an 'X' CPU
I'd love to see the thermals in this case because that would be a nice alt case to use!
