Destiny 2 OOB: Reversing Salvation's Edge: Red Border from Boss Checkpoint

- Turns out you can get the Red Border chest from a Boss Checkpoint in Salvation's Edge :D
The route isn't even that bad. Mostly a few fallbacks, and a precision blink. I don't know if normal blink works for it, 'cause normal blink is a pain to do precise things with. But the new Hunter Arc Super is, in fact, precision blink.
You'll need at least one Hunter on Storm's Edge to set this up, and one person to hold the boss encounter. Ideally another two to run puzzle 3, and puzzle 4/5. Or more if you want to do 'em all at once. If you know what you're doing, you should be able to set it up in around 10-15 minutes.
Thanks to all the people who helped out with testing this. Ghillie! and TheCube17 confirmed that Storm's Edge would work for the window, leading to me running the campaign twice this weekend. Elite, Eater of Crayons, ItAvvy, and SpaceRaven assisted in the proof of concept, and yvDiggs, Sieizo, MrMochiFruit, wondoefull, and penguinman2.0 helped get the clear to confirm it.
It's the first time since Vow that we've been able to do this :D
Still working on the forwards route... We can go from start to pre 4th encounter, but easier to just start from the boss than attempt the forwards route most of the time.

It's pretty good. I was hoping they'd somehow let it be a box break, but this is the most we could reasonably hope for.
@@Froggy618157725 Yeah, right after I unlocked it I tried using it to get through some push back barriers but it just doesn't blink, which like you said is exactly what I thought was gonna happen.

I don't know if anyone else has found this yet but I got to the Dual Destiny area from patrol, the only thing I am stuck on is the final door before the boss room.
Haven't checked that out yet since I haven't run dual destiny, but I've been out of map above it
Just found out that if you're solo, you can skip the 1st encounter door by repeating the same process to get back to the start in reverse!

did you try killing yourself in substratum without setting a spawn point ? if yes, where did it spawn you ?
Is the first zone/instanced area in Destiny 2, right after Ghaul kicks you off and you're lightless, a separate zone/instance from everything else in the game? I tried to find information on it but there didn't seem to be much online.
Pretty sure that's its own thing, like the hawk following bit, and the Quarantine Sector/Blackened Forest mission (there have been at least three separate Quarantine Sectors)
It takes an extra heavy, but Titans can also use a Cleaver-type sword and slam down grav-lifts. Maybe the new exotic sword would be better though since it's a special that any class can use and can come with aggressive frames?

Hello, is it possible to arrive to the chests with this technique? I want to get the 2nd chest right before final boss but it seems it is not there
You can get the first chest this way, but the second chest isn't there from boss. It is there from the start of the raid, and I've got another video for that :)

Hey, Great video, my question is : when I get all the way back to the first chest ( which I did ) I cant get to other red border ones ( I mean 3rd and 5th chests ) by myself, right? The door after first/second chest is lock!
@@manixgaming9702 To get back from before first encounter, you'll either need to blink back through the window, or backtrack through all your spawn points with stasis. Generally easier/quicker to rejoin on someone else, but it's entirely possible to go from the start to the end solo.

How do you get rid of your navigator cooldown I can't seem to get it to work
You need to swap in air before you touch the ground. Once the countdown is going, it'll continue to 0, or until you die.
Me and my clan got past first encounter but we didn't even think about the red border cause we were having enough trouble already. I wanted to try getting back from Dissipation, but when I try to fallback spawn it just shuffles me around the platform. Is there any way to get it to work, or head back down the elevator?
Fallback points only activate if no other spawn point is available. The easiest way to do this is to have no spawn history and block off the default.
This became harder in Haunted, since they removed the death exclusion zone, which invalidated spawnpoint within a certain distance of where you died. Nowadays you must individually block such spawn points.
When possible, it's more straightforward to hit a load and then go back, never staying on the ground for more time than it takes to jump. If you die, you'll spawn at the default spawn, and if you stay within 9m you can walk normally without setting any spawn points. You can then use that 3/2 stasis pattern to block most default spawns.
In the 3rd encounter door, I kept spawning behind my initial spawn point... any ideas?
Mostly just be careful about setting new spawn points, and delete em if you do. Either by dying and having the spot blocked by a guardian or crystal when you respawn, or by hitting a loadzone and coming back.
Is there a way to OOB from Second to Third? I can get to the door for Third but obviously it won’t open, and i don’t know of any breaches or ways to get through it
Yeah, go up outside of the elevator. You can then go around the outside and pass 3rd.

You'll either want to avoid setting spawn points on the way to the wall, or maybe hunter super back through the window.
Did they patch the ability to get back ammo with reserves, just tried it and got nothing?
Gotta have ammo to make ammo. There's a minimum amount you need, or it'll just round down. And it works a bit different for swords. Last I checked reserves on armor don't help there, but maybe I was just at cap anyways...
Hangman’s pass got patched. Tried getting there and the barrier spawns a lot earlier now
Yeah, although I have heard people managing to still make it, between the super fast skimmer boosting(patched), and possibly just with the faster vehicle speed. Or skating. Google over the wall with a super is probably easier though at this point.
Is it possible then to get both the secret chests solo? Just using fall backs?
i went back from a witness CP, the second chest isnt there. you gotta clear verity i think.
for the first one I just played the raid, then let all of my teammates swap. ( i was by the 1st chest) when you spawn in the room chest room and you dont have to do jump-puzzle.
The first secret chest is gettable from a third encounter checkpoint, you just got to run back and beat the door that spawns in to block you
For whatever reason the second chest isn't there. Probably since it's the same as the active zone, and sadly we don't know any way to glitch to boss from an earlier checkpoint.
@@Froggy618157725 dang, I attempted to do the storms edge trick but the other way although I would eventually just hit a door anyways, hopefully someone manages to find some map hole or something to get to a least one of them solo.
Has this been patched? my respawn doesnt work at the door at the end of 3rd
Definitely not. Hasn't been a patch since I did it last, and they've never patched a fallback.
Fallbacks currently require you to both be very careful about spawn points, and to cover a precise area. If you leave gaps uncovered in that area, you'll spawn in them. If you set spawns outside that area, you'll spawn there.
What I do is die after hitting a load to spawn at the default. I then choose a direction and take a few paces, then fire a 2/3 pattern with Salvations Grip, die, and respawn before crystals disappear. When setting up the crystal pattern it's important that you strafe, and not rotate. If you rotate, the crystal pattern will be misaligned and likely leave gaps.
So..for the raid mods i only need to do the puzzle red border chest and defeat the witness?
Well, to be able to do puzzle 2 and 4, you must first do the encounter triumph, so after you do those 5, you'll be able to activate the box thing to turn on the puzzles.

Definitely should. Defaults are all about controlling spawn points. If you set any while covering the default area, you'll spawn there instead, and if you miss any of the default area you'll spawn in the spot you missed. That's the main way to find it. It's invisibly, so you mostly know where it is by where people spawn. With a few people spawning in at once you can generally tell the rough shape of it.
@@Froggy618157725 ok thanks, I was setting a default point while traversing, that was the issue, I reset it by going back to verity and reloading the area and getting there a little quicker
If you die after the load you'll just respawn at default. That's the easiest way, otherwise you have to memorize where.
why you can't active the fourth platform?
Platforms 2 and 4 are for the raid mod. You need to have all encounter triumphs done for that, and then you can activate the chest thing to enter the other shapes.

@@Froggy618157725 uhm when i tried to go back to the third encounter we supposed to block our spawnpoint with statis crystal right? but somehow the statis crystal at my location always broke while the rest remain still.Its weird

If you're using Salvations Grip to die, you'll want to make sure you do it a distance away since it's pretty effective at destroying the crystals too. The crystals also disappear on a timer if you don't do it fast enough.
For ammo gen, you need a minimum amount for it to work.

Haven't done the raid yet. Can someone explain why you need to oob from the boss for this? Can't you just do it from the beginning?
if you're loading in from a boss checkpoint it doesn't start you at the beginning unfortunately

This is so you don't have to do a 2 hour raid with people who don't know what to do. You just grab a boss cp from a bot and do this once a week for 3 red borders. 1 from the code, 1 from the key, and 1 from paying spoils

I'm not sure red border chest has that restriction. The regular secret chests do.
