@NotebookcheckReviews I got the mini-led version for the Flow X16 but it has got the same panel as the duo. Honestly, it looks nicer than any normal IPS panel but it will not work for accurate work as the backlight is often extremely uneven when in multi-zone mode. So it wouldn't work for video editing.
I use 16 duo for a year now. If you are not using Adobe products the second screen is useless because other software, messangers and calculator don't fit properly. It supports a pen, but it falls off all the time making it's use pointless as well. And using a pen on this laptop is severly uncomfortable because fo the keybord below the screen. So my point is that it has wow effect to be sold but I never buy dual screen laptop again.
This video is what made me decide to buy the 3080 Ti variant of Zephyrus Duo 16. Literally an hour after this video was uploaded. At just under 21mm thick & just under 2.5kg, it’s not exactly Razer Blade or even Zephyrus-own M16/G15 level of thin & light. But with the performance this high (for a laptop), at a thermal control this effective, and to a stretch battery life this long for a gaming laptop standard, this is the thinnest & the lightest we can get & I’m not sure if we can defy the laws of physics anymore lol. Just too bad that the adapter isn’t a GaN, so it’s just as thicc as my Nike Air Force 1 Low 😂. So far very happy with my purchase.

It's a truly awesome laptop though, it can pretty much do anything with ease.

NO, that model 2023 only 2K for primary display - and that is Shit where old model 2022 with 4K for primary display ? wny they not use 4K in 2023 model ?
@@NotebookcheckReviews ha, if you add a spoonful of shit to a jar of jam - then will you choose another jar, without shit, or is it this one - with shit? so, I think you can not answer. the answer is clear: 2K in 2022..2023 and beyond - is already shit, and it doesn’t matter what kind of jam it will be watered with ... We already need laptops 17 "... 18" for 4K and we are waiting for 8K. Today the best choice "for work" is only Zephyrus DUO 16 2022 with the main display at 4K !! and all the other laptops on this planet already look like the "last century" And if we compare Zemfirus Duo - 2022 or 2023, then the release of 2023 with 2K - is OR either STUPID marketing to reduce the price "by $ 100" (what ??!!? for $ 100 you will voluntarily agree to eat jam with shit!? or maybe better pay extra +$100 (well, maybe +200$....+300$, I don't remember exactly, but still it's still not +1000$ or more) and enjoy pure jam?) - OR 4K panels was real little was produced ... but still, against the background of a 4K matrix - now a 2K matrix does not even look like a "compromise" - but even look ONLY NAMELY - like shit in a jar of Zemfirus jam
you're right. it is in this matter, where for any display - exactly 4K is excellent and modern, and 2K - it sucks, I'm set up without compromise. if there was a difference in price, let's say more than $600, then I would still think that 4K is not cheap, but still modern, and even if the price is more than $1000, then I would think ... how much this improvement justifies such a price. but it would still be modern. And when the difference is literally plus or minus $100 ... $300 - there is simply nothing to argue about! from the point of view of the consumer and the engineer. And from the point of view of a marketer - who wants not just to "sell", but wants to sell this crap of the "last century" - then, of course, one can endlessly discuss how "it's amazing that we were made happy with ... 2K crap technology for the same money, in general, as TWICE more advanced 4K technology !!! Where am I wrong? Can you please tell me one real disadvantage of 4K compared to 2K? Well, is it a little more difficult to manufacture? and fewer offers from suppliers of 4K matrices? something else?
I am sure some people will buy this for the novelty, maybe a few for the added functionality, but for me the compromises far outweigh any benefits (none for my workflow). The cons include, poor trackpad, keyboard position, useless for using on a lap (my main user case), worse battery life, big and bulky, and just awkward. That is just me and I respect ASUS for pushing the envelope, but I cannot see a rush to follow this design. Laptops are a mature product that have evolved to their current design because that is what works best.
I totally get your points, and I would have been on board with some of them before using it. When it comes to putting this thing on your lap, you are right. But with that hardware, it is more of a desk machine anyways. When it comes to the bulkiness, it actually doesn't feel that much different from a "normal" laptop, to be honest. But yes, it is not for everyone, and it will definitely be a niche and unique product.
$4000 doesn't get 64GB and 4TB in USA. It's 32GB/2TB. Also this screen is not the same as the non switchable HDR panel in the 3070TI version. ASUS is a mess with their models and what they offer in each line.
Hi Reuben, you are right. We should have clarified that these are the starting prices for the Zephyrus Duo 16. Thanks for pointing it out and thanks for watching :)
@@NotebookcheckReviews I'm still interested in ASUS Duo, but they are competing directly against Lenovo Legion 7 for me for half the price. The Duo has no comparison really, for a programmer though, we debate how much that 2nd screen will help us on the go! I don't mean to blame just Asus for their confusing model lineup and what comes in each model. Lenovo is also a mess. "Coming soon" gen 7 laptops on their website when a gen 7 model is for sale on BestBuy and an exclusive gen 7 AMD model at Microcenter, but Lenovo didn't have either or any for sale at the time.
I guess everyone has their own subjective level of wiggle-tolerance! There are a lot of laptops that have a lot more screen wiggle! And the way I showed it is an amazing „extreme“ scenario, because you will hardly adjust the angle of your display in this way during normal use. I used the laptop quite extensively and screen wobble wasn’t an issue!
i watched a video from Jarrods Tech. He said there is a bug with the cpu not goin over 25 watts when gpu and cpu are both stressed. Someone has that issue ?
Hey, I just got mine. However, I think there is an issue with my display. Whenever I dim the display pass 30%, any display with dark grey/black background. The leds turn off. It’s to the point that I am unable to see my mouse in certain areas of the screen. This is not normal, correct?
Im not in animation or VFX myself, but I would assume the apps for those workloads are using a lot of the GPU? Then I would watch out which one of these has higher powerlevels for the RTX 3070 Ti. I havent used the m15 myself so I can not really comment on it, but the Duo is a great machine overall, with the added benefit of the second screen.
Hey ! I m looking foreward to purchase the one with the rtx3070ti. I m a content creator and I strugle to find review on that model, especialy in terms of color grading. So, do you think that ROG Nebula écran HDR mini led is ok to colorgrading photo and video ?
@@NotebookcheckReviews thank you a lot for that quick answer ! The thing is that in your great Flow X16 video you r saying that this laptop is covering almost 100% of srgb and adobe colors. Which is not the case for the Zephyrus Duo. I certainly miss something … Btw I didn’t know the Flow before your reply, if you should choose one from those two, what will it be ? Thanks 🙏🏽
Are you sure about that? I can not imagine that Asus would use 2 different SKUs for a MiniLED display. Between the Duo and the Flow? That is a very tough decision ... if I were to travel more I would go for the Flow, if I would work stationary the DUO ;) - Alex

While we will do a Razer 15 review soon, we will probably not do a direct comparison to the Zephyrus since I don't have the review unit in the studio anymore.
I personally think we are way past FHD screens by now for high-end, multi purpose laptops. You would sacrifice so much visual clarity, especially for content creators if this one would be FHD only .... and you can run it at FHD 240 Hz.
I hope we will have a review for that one soon. But in a nutshell the Scar will be a slightly better performer at the expense of battery life and mobility. And you loose the second screen and have to live with a much more “Gamery” look ;)
I opened a second window for the file I was working on and then just dragged in on the second screen. If you got the right pen, it should work without a problem!

What about all the people I see having the same issue? Screen flicker, high CPU temps, BSODs like crazy, malfunctioning bluetooth, very specific issues in more than a few of these. Yeah, great product. Not really. Their quality control and testing has very clearly gone to garbage.
All these long-Term things are almost impossible for us to test or keep track of! We have a satisfactory survey coming, hoping that something like that can shine a light on such things! Are you speaking from personal experience?
Tough .... you can build a more powerful system for less, but you can not take it anywhere (easily) It really comes down to your personal preference and use case.
The form factor is super impractical. The bigger screen sits too far from you and it's almost impossible to use outside a desk without wrecking your wrists. I would've loved to have it work but it just isn't human friendly.

It ended up giving me a headache. I liked the placement of the touchpad on the right. It's use came pretty naturally, but as someone that uses their laptop on the couch from time to time, the placement of the keyboard just ended up being a wrist killer. While I would prefer the 4K panel too, the new MiniLED is hardly something I would call „shit“
Today the best choice "for work" is only Zephyrus DUO 16 2022 with the main display at 4K !! and all the other laptops on this planet already look like the "last century"
And if we compare Zemfirus Duo - 2022 or 2023, then the release of 2023 with 2K - is OR either STUPID marketing to reduce the price "by $ 100" (what ??!!? for $ 100 you will voluntarily agree to eat jam with shit!? or maybe better pay extra +$100 (well, maybe +200$....+300$, I don't remember exactly, but still it's still not +1000$ or more) and enjoy pure jam?) - OR 4K panels was real little was produced ... but still, against the background of a 4K matrix - now a 2K matrix does not even look like a "compromise" - but even look ONLY NAMELY - like shit in a jar of Zemfirus jam
Ok, thank you for your contribution. You are set with your opinion and not open for discussion, apparently.
you're right. it is in this matter, where for any display - exactly 4K is excellent and modern, and 2K - it sucks, I'm set up without compromise.
if there was a difference in price, let's say more than $600, then I would still think that 4K is not cheap, but still modern, and even if the price is more than $1000, then I would think ... how much this improvement justifies such a price. but it would still be modern.
For anyone who does productivity work, the 2nd screen is unmatched. If you're just gaming, look elsewhere.
Nice Video, nice Laptop but why do you say there is no wiggle at 2:10?? I See a lot of wiggling there
I guess everyone has their own subjective level of wiggle-tolerance! There are a lot of laptops that have a lot more screen wiggle!
And the way I showed it is an amazing „extreme“ scenario, because you will hardly adjust the angle of your display in this way during normal use.
I used the laptop quite extensively and screen wobble wasn’t an issue!
0:09 - me: "Finally a glossy screen on a gaming laptop?"
Still matte, sorry 😬
i watched a video from Jarrods Tech. He said there is a bug with the cpu not goin over 25 watts when gpu and cpu are both stressed. Someone has that issue ?
We did not have the same problem, but please let us know if you find more info about this!
Well i cant find a tutorial for the 2nd screen anywhere.
What do you want to know, maybe I can help?
Great video! I'm still eagerly waiting for this laptop to start selling in Canada
Thank you! It seems they roll it out quite slowly internationally.
Hey, I just got mine. However, I think there is an issue with my display. Whenever I dim the display pass 30%, any display with dark grey/black background. The leds turn off. It’s to the point that I am unable to see my mouse in certain areas of the screen. This is not normal, correct?
It does sound a bit weird, yes. Have you checked back with Asus?
Same issue with this guy ruclips.net/video/Jr6vKjbr4Qo/видео.html
Bro I purchased mine 4 months ago and I have the same issue did you get it fixed by any chance and how !
the cleaning of the fan will be exhausting.
Is this model not out yet because all the models ive found are only the 165 hz one and not the 4k 120/ 1080p 240hz
Unfortunately, we do not get that kind of information. It should be out for a while now tho!
Hi, can you connect a bluetooth stylus to it like the Raphael Renaisser ?
I can not verify it for you but every MPP 2.0 Pen should work!
Alienware m15 r7 12700H 3070 ti or asus rog zephyrus duo 16 ryzen 7 6800H 3070 ti which is best for animation and VFX purpose
@@NotebookcheckReviews thanks for the reply
Of course, bud! 💪🏻
Hey ! I m looking foreward to purchase the one with the rtx3070ti. I m a content creator and I strugle to find review on that model, especialy in terms of color grading. So, do you think that ROG Nebula écran HDR mini led is ok to colorgrading photo and video ?
Hi Mathys, check out our FlowX16 review. Our review unit had the MiniLED HDR display and it is awesome:
ruclips.net/video/qm3jwbjhjmo/видео.html
@@NotebookcheckReviews thank you a lot for that quick answer ! The thing is that in your great Flow X16 video you r saying that this laptop is covering almost 100% of srgb and adobe colors. Which is not the case for the Zephyrus Duo. I certainly miss something …
Btw I didn’t know the Flow before your reply, if you should choose one from those two, what will it be ? Thanks 🙏🏽
Are you sure about that? I can not imagine that Asus would use 2 different SKUs for a MiniLED display.
Between the Duo and the Flow? That is a very tough decision ... if I were to travel more I would go for the Flow, if I would work stationary the DUO ;)
- Alex
@@NotebookcheckReviews I cannot too !
I just understood why. Most of youtubers tried the biggest version of the zephyrus with the 4K screen with the Nebula display. The version with the 3070ti do not have the 4k but it's coming with a Nebula display HDR (here is the diff).
Still can't chose between those two monsters
Anyway, thank you a lot for your answers you'r the best ! Great videos quality and reviews are very easy to follow

bro please do a full comparision on Asus rog zyphrus pro duo 16 vs razer blade 15
While we will do a Razer 15 review soon, we will probably not do a direct comparison to the Zephyrus since I don't have the review unit in the studio anymore.
Where do you get this version at because I thought they ended up just doing the 2k 165 refresh rate?
It was the config Asus sent out to reviewers, but it seems like it is really hard to find at the moment in general.
Looks like a great laptop
It really is something!
Asus fictinally pushing this model as all other models this year with big screens no FHD option😭
I personally think we are way past FHD screens by now for high-end, multi purpose laptops. You would sacrifice so much visual clarity, especially for content creators if this one would be FHD only .... and you can run it at FHD 240 Hz.
USA 3060 model is FHD 165Hz, with *100% DCI-P3 color* claimed on the Amazon store page.
Is the webcam good? Is the mic good? Does it have Windows Hello?
It is your average laptop webcam. Windows Hello works flawlessly but it is definitely not the best webcam found in a laptop.
how does this compare to ASUS scar 17SE
I hope we will have a review for that one soon. But in a nutshell the Scar will be a slightly better performer at the expense of battery life and mobility.
And you loose the second screen and have to live with a much more “Gamery” look ;)
so i got this laptop but i dont get how you are are using the pen in photoshop like that. can you help?
I opened a second window for the file I was working on and then just dragged in on the second screen. If you got the right pen, it should work without a problem!
What pen 🖊️ use for asus rog zephyrus duo 16 use?
I used the Asus Pro Pen! But any active MPP 2.0 should work!
@@NotebookcheckReviews Thank you
Hello, can someone tell me the dimensions of the two monitors (height x weight), please? Thank you
I am not really sure what you are talking about. The 2 screens are integrated within the laptop ...
@@NotebookcheckReviews yes, of course! i'm talking about the two screens integrated within the chassis. I know the diagonal (16 and 14), but I can't find height and weight.
You can check our written review (linked in the description) we have listet the dimension in there!
we need this with 17 or 18 inch!
That would be quite something.
Maybe this is the best of both worlds gaming / content Creators
It is VERY close ;)

Guys please someone answer me i know the small screen is 4k but can i use 4k for big screen? Becuse on amazon Max Screen Resolution 2560×1600

I had connected an additional 4K screen and another QHD at the same time at some point!
Thanks so much for the review!
Is there any plan to review the 2560x1600 165Hz mini-LED display unit on sale in the States?
You are more than welcome!
As soon as we will get on our hands on it, we will update our review!
Im not sure if the display will be worth its own video, but we will definetly have an article about it on our website.
how is it for 3D Modeling?
It should be pretty good for a laptop, considering that the 3080 Ti runs at 150W+
This or a gaming pc??
Tough .... you can build a more powerful system for less, but you can not take it anywhere (easily)
It really comes down to your personal preference and use case.
The form factor is super impractical. The bigger screen sits too far from you and it's almost impossible to use outside a desk without wrecking your wrists.
I would've loved to have it work but it just isn't human friendly.
It is actually not that bad and using it as a desktop replacement works really well.
I have the Zenbook Pro Duo version and I like how far the screen from the keyboard as I don’t feel like I have to break my neck and strain my eyes
Do you have a link for the 240 hrz dual spec model like in your review? Your link goes to the 165 hrz model
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it is available on amazon.com just yet! Sorry.
What is the screen brightness?
Shown in the display table at 434 nits, not bad.
You can find the display stats at the 6 minute mark! The screen gets decently bright for almost all occasions with above 400nits!
Mine came with 2 Tb of SSD :( I got scammed lol XD
Ah damn, sorry man! :D
I feel like my right ear is going deaf with how his mic only prominently plays on the left....
Nobody is perfect, sorry about your ears.
@@NotebookcheckReviews No I don't mean anything against you, sorry for coming off rudely
No hurt feelings, mate! Just keep in mind that we put ourselves out there to keep you guys informed and entertained, and sometimes things go wrong or don't turn out perfect :)
I purchased the 3080ti 1440p mini LED model but ended up returning it. It was an incredibly powerful machine, but there was just a few things I couldn't get over.
There was a pretty good amount of high pitched whine coming from the screen, which could be heard in a room even with music/videos playing at a mid volume from the laptop. It ended up giving me a headache.
I liked the placement of the touchpad on the right. It's use came pretty naturally, but as someone that uses their laptop on the couch from time to time, the placement of the keyboard just ended up being a wrist killer. My fault on that point though, i should have known!
Interesting, how did you like the MiniLED display? I hope we will get the chance to test that one out, that whining sounds awfull tho ...
me and a lot of people on reddit seem to be having the same screen whine. i returned my b&h unit. I have one ordered from amazon, hopefully i don't get one with the same screen whine problem...
I see. Keep us updated. We will see a lot of laptops with that QHD MiniLED Screen, so let's see how that will turn out!
@@thomashuynh3354 Any update on amazon version coil whine?
That is not notebook!😂
Btw gg mate!
What is it then? ;)
This computer is pure trash. I spent 5k to get the Highend version and it is constantly crashing. I'm talking about BSOD (5 different kind), network loss due to network card disconnection, global freeze... Go buy an other brand than Asus
Man, that sucks. Nonetheless, marking a machine as trash because of one unit isnt entirely fair. Have you been able to resolve the problem?
@@NotebookcheckReviews Its my second machine in 1 month (i had the zenbook pro duo that was even worse one month ago). I'm very disapointed with the brand. I'm used to custom desktop build. I guess that i need to grieve that clean from any software overcoat build
@@NotebookcheckReviews Friend above speaks true. Turbo mode needed to use second screen with with 10 year old game on main screen, otherwise it lags as hell.
