I’m African-American and would love to visit! I love the Wolof language, would love to learn and I’m familiar with a little 🤏🏾French too
Same here 💯
I would be proud to invite you in the south region of Senegal.❤
Am Congolese. Love everything Senegal. The people, language, the food, the place.
The reason why Ngor beach is more crowded than Yoff beach is because Yoff beach has very strong currents and there’s more probability to drown meanwhile Ngor beach is very tame thanks to the Island that block most of the big waves. Also there’s more attractions in Ngor that’s why people prefer going there, it’s always overcrowded in summers and on Sundays. But yeah if you go there it’s always better to go to the Island for a better experience.
Thanks for the insights
I been to Senegal last year despite the fact that I had a food poisoning when I came back to Europe… Senegal is such an underrated country women there are gorgeous and most people are Very friendly plus it has a stunning landscape and many places worth to be visited like ile de gore and lac rose
I love it!

Facts 💯
Beautiful place ! My dad spends a lot of time here contracting , awesome content!!!
Thanks. I wish I could spend a lot of time there
I'm American and flew into Dakar from the U.S. back in 2021. No one asked me before boarding my flight in the U.S about a yellow fever card....which I shouldn't have been asked since there is no high risk of transmission in the U.S. and falls under Senegalese law. But when I got to Senegal Immigration, I was asked for it. I didn't have it, so I had to dole out some cash (under the table). My thinking is that Immigration has no time trying to verify who is coming from what country (although newer systems are being put in place around the world to verify). Just because a person has a passport of a country where there is no high risk of transmission doesn't mean that is the country where that person is coming from. So Immigration asks everyone for a yellow fever card. That's just my assumption. I'm going to Kenya this month. Even though Kenya has the same rule and I shouldn't need a card, I went ahead and got a yellow fever shot last month anyway. Besides, I probably will do African and/or South American trips in the future that require a card. So the cost of the shot ($190) was worth it for me.

I love Dakar..Glad u enjoyed it.
Thanks!
Can't wait to visit!
Good Times!!!
Great video
Thanks
😊😊

It’s a wonderful video ❤
Thanks!

Salute
Nice video ✌🏾
Thanks
Love this video. Do you have any tips or know any other RUclipsr who can give a perspective on traveling there as a solo female. I don't find countries different in traveling as female vs male, other than nightlife.
I know a female who has visited Dakar solo. Just use your street smarts and don't do anything risky like going out at night and you should be good.
Surabaya 2:49 ...😮😮😮
🤤🤤
I visit Dakar in 3 days😍
Safe travels. Enjoy
@@travelconnect1 thank you😁
im from senegan
Cool
Enjoyed your video! Thank you for sharing!
Can you recommend an area to stay in? I’d like to have access to restaurants & commerce.
I like Dakar Plateau personally. Almadies is also another good option.
@@travelconnect1 Thank you!!!! Thank you!!!! Headed to Senegal next month. This will be my first visit to the continent.
Wow. That's cool. Enjoy and safe travels.
@@GoTasteandSeeJenniferare you in Senegal? please can you tell me how expensive it is.
@@nedx3355 I had to postpone 🥹. I’m in Lisbon now. I’ll go to Senegal later this year.

Great video, I’m going to Dakar in two weeks, and this was really helpful! Was there any problems in flying your drone? I was thinking of bringing mine. Thanks!
Thanks. I didn't have any issues at all flying my drone. However, if you want to fly it by the monument, you must first get authorization from security on the premises. It will self land otherwise.
@@travelconnect1 great, I can imagine they’d need air traffic control around that monument if they didn’t have some control! Will follow your channel, some fascinating destinations there. I’ll be going to Dakar in Senegal, Kotu in Gambia and a very quick tour in Guinea-Bissau, videos of all coming later!
Haven t been to dakar 5 years now
Good times
9:53 got a dump truck
You ain't lying
Love your content , how much roughly estimate should I save to travel to Senegal 🇸🇳
Thanks. I'm not sure how much you would need, but I personally can get by with $125 in spending money per day. But people are different. My sister would only need $50 per day. But my aunt likes to shop and would need about $300 per day. It all depends on the person.
@@travelconnect1 thanks for the insight im so excited to travel to Senegal 🇸🇳, Ghana 🇬🇭, Nigeria 🇳🇬 & Ethiopia 🇪🇹 st the end of the year .
I’m aborignal & Torres Strait islander from Australia 🇦🇺
One more question, did you take the yellow fever shot???
Only if you're travel from a country that has a high risk of Yellow Fever transmission. Which the U.S doesn't (I had a straight flight from JFK to Dakar). But regardless, I have the vaccine anyway. I hope this helps.
@@travelconnect1 yes, exactly. Thank you again!
What was the beach front restaurant at 14:06
Restaurant Le Lagon 1
@@travelconnect1 thank you
No problem
Where did you stay in Dakar...What is the name of that hotel in the Plateau?
The hotel was called, "Le Ndiambour."
This is a great video! Did your hotel help arrange transportation round trip to your hotel? @travelconnect1
Thanks. The hotel helped arrange transportation to many places around the city. However, I didn't use them to go to and from the hotel. But they would have arranged it for me if I wanted.
What was the level of English in Dakar like? Would I struggle if I don't speak French?
Not many people spoke English. I traveled alone and got by using Google Translator.
@travelconnect1 Oh I see. And do locals mostly speak French with each other or other African languages?
Mostly French or wolof. No English. My family and I traveled this past December
The N in Ngor is silent. I don’t know why they decide to add it.
Thanks
No…
No it s not silent if You pronunce just GOR,it mean A Man,a noble person,it s also a name.Ngor is prununce NG OR -NGOR
It's not silent at all, we pronounce it but in the african way so maybe you can't hear it
I am in dakar where is antigua beach? Can you tell the beach name in French
I have never heard of that beach
@@travelconnect1 6:12 which beach is this can you name?
@@moinsaifee8506beach of NGOR (plage de Ngor)

Is Dakar doable and enjoyable with No French, while solo traveling??
Yes. I don't speak French and visited solo.
In Dakar, any language You speak to them, they Will understand, myself i don t know how they do it..but they are smart and they use to see many turist..use also body language, senegalese talk a lot with body language and face language 😊
@@Liweiyang43 Then why have i heard many times that Senegal is difficult to navigate without knowing french??
@@KnowledgeLenderparceque a part le Wolof la langue Nationale c'est la langue française est la langue officielle mais n'empêche il y a n' en plusieurs Sénégalais qui parlent aussi l' Anglais
What I like in Africa, in the world of nightlife, are the nightclubs that are more beautiful than those in the West and that the racist vigilantes play the interesting ones. Long live Africa
