The Gulf is wonderful, and usually affordable on the beach. The place we were staying in was sold tho, so we are unsure about the future. (We always stayed off season to save money tho, but it has gotten to where its crowded no matter when we go)

Hi Jen. Yes, the Gulf is my top pick as well. There are several beaches along the gulf that are less crowded. I love the Forgotten Coast area for just that reason.

What do these hotels and condo offer during spring break and the summer that make the prices go up higher? Charging double or triple and offering the same exact thing is a bit ridiculous

Simply a matter of supply & demand.

VRBO and Airbnb are so overpriced. And finding pet-friendly housing is very tough, especially with cats. Looking for a 2-3 month rental in Sarasota for 2 for under $3,000 a month for Jan/Feb to April. Any suggestions???

Hi! I'm sorry! I was out for my hip replacement surgery. You are looking for monthly rentals? My suggestion is to work with a realtor. The can find you the best options to fit your budget but they may be a bit away from the beach or other attractions.

So if you wanna travel in February, you’re out of luck

Why are you out of luck in February? There are rentals BUT many snowbirds as well. You may have to extend the area you are looking at.
