Thank you for this video, some men really need watch this and know what we women have to go through. I am 3 weeks post op due to endometrial cancer, I had everything removed. I thank God I have a wonderful man who understands.
Wait…..😳 how to stay thin over 50?🙄😳….really darlin’?
Hey Denise, what sort of hormones did they give you? I’m about to get hysterectomy, with cervix, ovaries and tubes removed. Age 64, so I am postmenopausal. I know the ovaries provide some hormonal benefit, but not sure what at this stage.
What an ignoramus, the troll is. 😂
Hi, question. How soon after a hysterectomy should I feel safe to orgasm? I realize I’m not supposed to have sex for 4-6 weeks (per my doctor), but I’m embarrassed to ask my doctor about touch/orgasm outside of vaginal insertion. Thanks.
My first wife had an hysterectomy early in her life. After three kids.. She was also an OR Tech.. Once she was healed, she wanted sex every single night, no joke .
I wish more people in these videos would put in their title hystorectomy with oopherectomy. A hysto does not remove ovaries and those of us wanting reassurance that its all okay after hysto to suffer these things are watching the wrong videos causing more grief for ourselves

I totally agree with your comments. Men should learn about the female anatomy to better understand the changes her body goes through whether normal or medical reasons. Being informed, patient and understanding is the key to having a long and satisfying relationship.
I am nervous because I have cysts and anemia with extreme heavy periods. Only one ovary has a cyst so I’m assuming they’ll leave the other one but if you have low or no hormones, how does your body even work? Are you full of testosterone and no estrogen? And if you have your cervix removed, is it just a big open hole? Do they sew it shut? I don’t know this I have no clue 🤦🏼♀️
And that I completely understand. It's the reason I had to have a hysterectomy. Each month, 28 days like clockwork for the first time in my life, I had horrendous periods and very anemic. Same thing cysts & fibroids. When your body stops producing hormones that includes testosterone. I do have the bioidentical hormones put in every 4-6 months and they include testerone as well as estrogen. Does that answer your question?
This was posted 9 yrs after yoir hysto. Do you think your health issues stemmed from the hysto?
Absolutely! For me, none of my issues started until post hysterectomy.
I needed to hear this video. So many videos on younger women and their experiences after having a hysterectomy. As a 56 year old woman, still premenopausal🤦♀️, I wanted to hear from someone my age. As an older woman, my body may react much differently after a hysterectomy - which I’m scheduled to have at the end of 2024 (I’m having everything removed but my ovaries). One of my major concerns was post surgery complications and the sexual intimacy between me and my husband. Thanks so much for being so transparent.❤️
You are absolutely correct. That's why I originally started this channel - lack of information. I can only provide from perspective as I'm not a doctor but at least you'll hear first hand from someone. I'm glad to hear you'll have your ovaries. That I did not get to do which kicked in many issues for me. Please let me know how you do. You got this!
so do you have to take hormones?
Hi there. No. You don't not have to. In my case, not taking them really affected my physically & emotionally. I am still at this time on hormone replacements with biote.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
<3
My situation got worse after ablation as well. Thank you for this video!
Isn't that the craziest thing? I wish I'd gone for the hysterectomy from the beginning but I was still having a period. That is what made me try the ablation first.

If it ain't raining you ain't training
Women put themselves under a butcher's knife more than any sane person ought to. That said, a quick google search reveals that Hysterectomies are often sought for PROLAPSES with the major common excuse being CANCER or CANCER PREVENTION these are blown out women who wear diapers to keep their parts from falling out 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Also, the type of cancer they're trying to prevent is also directly related to STI induced disease from shoving dirty things up there until it's a rotting festering pit of putrescence
Im two years and im still suffering. I swear im gonna end up alone i keeo snapping on my fiancee. Its like an outer body experience. Like you cant stop it from happening. Hell im crying now
Hi. How are you doing now? Please be kind to yourself. This is MAJOR surgery and everyone is different in how it affects them. If you have not gone to the doctor, please do so. It may be time for something to help such as hormone replacements, etc. I'm not a doctor but that helped me.
@@DeniseSanger I'm okay. I got more help I just didn't want to be on so much stuff I felt crazy. It's still tough days but I find exercise helps and makes me actually feel better like all of a sudden my body is normal again.

I know a couple of women whose marriages disintegrated and ended in divorce a year or so after hysterectomy. One of them seemed to have an unhealthyish relationship PRIOR to the hysterectomy, then there was a perforation of a bladder nerve, of course causing a longer recovery term. She had to be catheterized for a few years, constant infections to the point of antibiotic resistance. But the other always seemed perfectly happy in her marriage, with a super supportive/helpful husband (at least seeing from the outside). They just somehow grew apart I guess. My advice; ALWAYS work on strengthening the relationship with your spouse/partner. That way, an "emergency hysterectomy" won't take so much of a toll on the marriage. I'm afraid for my marriage if I need one, to the point that I'm fighting it every step. I'm willing to go through the monthly pain/hemorrhage just to avoid it and having to take hormones to keep my body at equilibrium. I had some cervical/uterine issues recently and my husband said "just take it out babe". I explained my concerns to him, to which he replied that he was not worried about that in the least. God love him, but he's a man. Once the initial fear for what's going on right now subsides; sex will be important again. Hell, sex is important to ME! I love our sex life, but fear it's the only connection we have to each other. I'm working on our other extracurricular enjoyments of each other. For me, it's fishing and watching TV/movies, but I realize there needs to be something intimately bonding us, other than sex. He doesn't think that deeply into anything tho, I don't believe. As another comment said; I see the struggle it may be when married to a narcissist. I am not. IM worried more about future lack of sex/intimacy than he is. Which is odd I guess, but it's a very deeply felt concern. But, as I'm almost 45, and hubby almost 47; I think these concerns would come up anyway with menopause. I'm just not ready at this point and think it could be as soon as a couple months away that I get the recommendation to have it removed. So far all of my medical tests come back normal, besides hemorrhagic ovarian cysts, which I believe is not a concern. But I have a uterine polyp or fibroid & thickening uterine lining that decides to partially drop out through my cervix with each period, with the heavy bleeding. Doc afraid to biopsy because of possible malignancy and becoming metastatic before there's time to remove the rest. But tumor markers negative and PAP negative, so I just have to await her decision. I've made mine: cancer = remove uterus & all reproductive organs. Not cancer = remove the uterus and keep the rest, pretty much. My husband is VERY loving and supportive, so I'm not worried about that. I'm worried about keeping him forever 😅, not because there's been any indication that I wont from HIM, but that I'm worried we as a couple may not have enough in common to keep the love alive. It's a struggle

What do these hotels and condo offer during spring break and the summer that make the prices go up higher? Charging double or triple and offering the same exact thing is a bit ridiculous
Simply a matter of supply & demand.
With all videos like this, take it as a friendly advise but not as medical advice, from what I can tell she is not a medical doctor or psychologist and it's basically her opinion. This is something she should have clarified at the beginning of the video for legal reasons. True, no sex after any type of surgery until cleared by your surgeon and doctor. Sex should be consensual and not forced, that is both common sense and legal. If forced, it is rape, plain and simple. Yes, you support someone who just had surgery and some recovery take as little as eight weeks to as much as a year and a half depending on the type of surgery performed. The psychological aspect of a hysterectomy, mastectomy, or other sex organs/characteristics surgeries can take longer, this is why counseling is often recommended. Overall, this video is her opinion and she has some good points. Always discuss your concerns and questions with your doctor.
That's right. My opinion. All over my sites and social media, I very clearly state I am not a doctor and that you MUST discuss everything with your doctor. This channel was originally started because I, me personally, could NOT get good information. That is stated over and over. You must not have watched any other video, and that's fine. Should not put blank statements out like that. Emotions come into play as well when, as a woman, what MAKES you a woman must be taken away from you for one reason or another. Add in to that equation, a spouse or significant other that is not supportive, which is why I made this video. If I published the messages and comments they feel they need to send to me, most would have their jaws drop to the floor. I'm not sure if you are actually being sensitive about this situation or not. I hope you are being sensitive and understanding of the trials a woman goes through as she ages.
@@DeniseSanger yes being sensitive and not wanting you to get in trouble as it only takes one person to take your videos as medical advice or sue over it. As a Counselor I have helped many through this and went through it with my wife but I will not post videos because of the legalities involved
@@johnnypayne9614 thank you. I was hoping that was where you were coming from. I hope I didn't come off mean, but some of these messages I get you would not believe. That is what prompted me to record this video. As a counselor, you probably have experienced it, and I appreciate your taking the time to comment. And I will take your advice and make sure every video discussing this important issue also has it in writing as well as in the video that I am not a doctor and this is my experience.
She didn’t give medical advice. She said don’t have sex while you’re recovering. And it sounds like the message was geared towards men because when a woman is recovering from surgery, she probably doesn’t want sex. that’s fact not medical advice or anything she could be sued over… that’s just like me saying hey ladies, if you have sex sooner than six weeks postpartum, it can cause complications. I’m not a doctor, but I can say that’s a fact.. 🤔🤔🤔
I had a similar experience as you with menses that were 50-70 days apart in my 20's and 30's and closer to menopause they were 28 days apart on the dot and hemorrhaging to the point of almost passing out and I could not leave my house. I got to the point of severe anemia and had to have a hysterectomy, I chose to take ovaries too as read from those who did not that often they failed and then needed another surgery and there was no way I was going to do another surgery. I asked for bio-identical hormones afterwards and took the estrogen AND progesterone equivalent because I felt my initial problem was too much estrogen. I took it for 6 months and then my dr. gave me pushback and fearmongered about breast cancer. I weaned myself off them and went through a lots of symptoms I had not experienced while on them including night sweats, insomnia and arthritis pains. I would rather be pharmaceutical free anyway. I feel overuse is the problem with joint pain. I have had to learn to take it easier and I cannot work like I was 20 anymore.
We have walked the same path, haven't we? I, too, ended up with severe anemia from hemorrhaging. Some months were literally 2-3 days only on the couch. I do not miss that at all. I am now after both hip surgeries back on the bioidentical hormones about 1.5 weeks now and feel MUCH better. Likewise, I hear you on the take it easier part. It's something I very much struggle with and part of my battle with myself. We shall see how the next few months go. Please keep in touch as you continue on your journey.
@@DeniseSanger I would need about a week to recover my energy and get my iron back up a little, then would have 1 good week and the next week was PMS 3 day migraines, the next week hemorrhaging again ( could not leave my home) a vicious cycle. So glad to be on the other side of it.
In my situation I'm epileptic. One of my main seizure triggers are my cycle every month, now for 5 years. They're saying I may need a hysterectomy in hopes of it may help. Crazy huh??? I don't even have heavy or hard cycles, that part is fine. Just seizures sigh...
Hi there! That's so crazy isn't it? Did the doc say that a hysterectomy would help this?
@DeniseSanger my appointment to my new ob/gyn is next month, and they'll determine it then. My neurologist is recommending it, because he says it's nothing on his end he can do. He also said he's seeing more women come in saying their seizures are triggered by their cycle too.

Denise I've always loved your attitude. I'm been following you for the last 12 years. Much like you, we've had the exact same female surgery ( I mean exact) which brought me to your site. I have also experienced thinning hair, dry skin, etc. I wanted to let you know I love your hair cut!!😍 I think it's chic for the summer and actually makes you look younger ( not that you looked older before) Keep livin life and rockin that hair style. You got this!!❤
Thank you! Best comment ever left. I'm so glad that these help because I know when I was looking for help before/after my hysterectomy, other than "medical" info, I was not finding anything. I appreciate you taking the time to leave a note for me. <3
in 2010 my wife had a hysterectomy. everything gone. she never regained her intrest in sex. and when we did have sex she wasnt the same. she never enjoyed it like before. she also wasnt the same mentally. cancer got her 16 months ago. at least she isnt suffering like she was.
I'm so sorry to hear you lost your wife to cancer.
I’m 36 years old had a hysterectomy five days ago and I can’t stop thinking about sex! I know I can’t have sex right now but I can’t stop thinking of it.. is this normal?
Yes, many people say this happens right after the surgery. It's normal, no worries. It's all the hormones.
That's a very GOOD thing especially at your age. How are you feeling now 3 weeks after surgery? Did you have your ovaries removed?
@@DeniseSanger I didn’t have any of my ovaries removed.. I feel amazing.

and what about respect, the husband should have enough respect to understand and give enough time to his wife to recover in her own time and stay committed to her. Yes mariage is first about feeling for each other and commitment to each other
I agree. You should read some of the messages I have received from men. No respect at all for their wives/significant others.
How do you make a hormone ??
Give her 50 bucks ! Seriously, all joking aside . I couldn't imagine the thoughts , feelings and emotions that rush through a woman after such an evasive procedure. And your right patience, care and support will go a long way post surgery. Thanks for the info and video.
And chatting with the doc. I am back on bioidentical hormones about 1.5 weeks now and feel SO much better. Kudos to you for being supportive. Many messages I received from other men? Not so much.
What collagen (brand) are you using?
Sorry! With my 2nd hip surgery I got behind on responding but I'm back now. I use Vital Proteins. You can get all the info via my affiliate link on Amazon here: amzn.to/44LCIEe
I had a full hysterectomy at 75 never felt better don’t worry it’s worth in in the end
Thank you for that l am so scared to have sex after my hysterectomy you helped me
How are you doing? I'm sorry - I was out for my 2nd hip surgery.
VRBO and Airbnb are so overpriced. And finding pet-friendly housing is very tough, especially with cats. Looking for a 2-3 month rental in Sarasota for 2 for under $3,000 a month for Jan/Feb to April. Any suggestions???
Hi! I'm sorry! I was out for my hip replacement surgery. You are looking for monthly rentals? My suggestion is to work with a realtor. The can find you the best options to fit your budget but they may be a bit away from the beach or other attractions.
You only go straight into menopause if they remove your ovaries too, not if they remove your uterus and leave your ovaries!
Yes. That is correct.
Is their more space for sex? Like if the cervix was previously in the way...can you go a few inches more?
Honestly? I'm not sure but it feels that way lol. Not sure if that helps or now.
So if you wanna travel in February, you’re out of luck
Why are you out of luck in February? There are rentals BUT many snowbirds as well. You may have to extend the area you are looking at.
It's best to ignore idiots!!!❤
Preach it! I try to but sometimes.....
I just had mine done a week ago and its not really easy! The cramps is terrible. Thanks for sharing.
