- MGM+ in a recent exclusive report has demanded action by amazon in furthering the production of a Stargate Series continuation. Hopefully this will move things along quicker for us to finally get some more #stargate and we can get some answers to long awaited questions!!! #SciTrek

Thats because the new iterations of Star Trek and Star Wars have been ruined by modernity. I worry that Star Gate may be the next lamb to the slaughter. just my opinion
@@nicklomas181they have been ruined by bad scripting without any knowledge about the background of these series. Including messages of morality has always been done in films and series. They just need to do it in a good way like the original Stargate did.
@@zutezzpixelproduktion5040 you are correct, but there is also a trend of starting filming without completed scripts (especially with films). I do have hope as there have been some amazing t.v shows recently, I'm just fed up of my favorite franchises becoming bad and over saturated with bad writing, bad character motivations and rushed VFX.
Star Gate is next in line to be adapted for modern audiences. Don't be hyped. Expect it to be made by people hired intentionally based on their lack of knowledge of previous Star Gate works.

It HAS to be a comeback/continuation/sequel of the original sg1/sga story. And it HAS to introduce new characters through the old guard. As many as possible. A reboot would be a disaster. If it happens somehow indeed, since we have nothing official yet, then perhaps we can eventually also get a closure for sgu

Continuing SGA may be difficult due to the age of the actors - unless the action takes place 10 years later (Atlantis spent 10 years on Earth and only now they can return to Pegasus)

@@Ka.Ha. Agreed. Personally, I mostly care about the main storyline about SG1/SGA and what comes after them. They can deal with SGU in another way eventually, which would continue the 9th cevron story. Anyway, i d love new sgu. But priorities!! What happens after Atlantis lands, what happens in the Milky Way, Pegasus. Remember that right before the battle above Earth between Alantis and the superhive? Rodney was asking how many spaceships they had to spare. When Odyssey is mentioned, Caldwell says that it is on a super secret mission that even he isn't supposed to know. I want to know!! Plus we have the new moon base, maybe General Carter / General mitchell/ Homeword Command/ old possible movie plots like SG Revolution/Extinction that they could use.
Stargate renewed will be awesome. Miss all those adventures.

MGM please learn from Disney ... Get some decent writers who know what the SG legacy is all about.. Not writers trying to make their own ideas canon.
Make Ben Broder the SG General or Joe Flanigan they is the perfect age now for that role.. even as the SG Colonel (Flanigan definitely in the right age group ) PLEASE!! Also a chance to use other cast members from Atlantis.. and COMPLETE THE Universe Story... Even if its just in writing / on the SG Database
I don't want Stargate. I want *_GOOD_* Stargate. I don't want *_CRUMMY_* Stargate which pushes "The Message" over story, acting, quality and content. I also want it released on Blu-ray. Sorry, I'm not paying for yet another streaming service which I won't watch.

Jay, we have already done the petitioning for many years and unfortunately the time has passed. It is time to move on. It should have gone to Apple or even Netflix. At this point, the easiest thing for Michael Wright and MGM+ to do is let Brad Wright's production team continue doing the show. At least they would not have to worry about cost and getting things moving along.
We just need to keep going. It helps. But at the same time we can’t force anything do just waiting isn’t a bad plan either
@@scitrekMicheal Wright has every right to hire whom ever he wants for his MGM+ tv productions. He needs to tell Amazon he wants Brad Wright’s team to continue their work on the franchise. Micheal Wright is the boss at MGM, he needs to start acting like it.

Honestly there’s a lot interesting things with a Stargate continuation, like maybe a subplot of Sam and Jack have a Daughter but she wants to join the Military like her parents and then Jack would be upset about it fearing about losing another child

Do not want a reboot just want to see more adventures from another group of well liked, well developed characters set within the Star Gate Universe. Not really into them doing a film as with a show, you get to see more adventures unlike in a movie. I also find it hilarious all the shows that scream "look at me I am diverse" meanwhile we had this already with SG1, done the human way, the natural way, the non-cringe way.

if they do a reboot, it would be a disaster that will permanently kill the entire franchise, if it goes woke, same thing, it will permanently kill the franchise.
it *MUST* be a continuation that follows the events of the previous series, we *MUST* get a answer to what happened to the previous characters, the hands down best option would be to have them return for atleast a episode or two with the purpose to introduce the new team we'll follow.

Years pass by... five year ago was too late... Its really time make new series movies.... I hoped when Amazon bought MGM that they will do new Stargate shows... or do sequel to SGU or SGA

Too late too little I’m not gonna get worked up over six or eight episodes of a TV show Stargate worked because it had 22 episodes a year. I have no interest in six or eight episodes I just don’t care.

While I want Stargate, I do not think I'd want their stargate that is made for "The modern audience". I've seen what they thought people would like with Origins, and earlier with Universe, I shudder to think how that trend would continue to today.
Just have a new team go to a new galaxy, throw in some cameos from old series, and most importantly get good writers that know the lore.

We want Stargate, but done the Wrighr way. At least have a show runner who honors what came before like Berman mostly did with Trek staying true to Gene's vision.
I honestly don't trust a new series. Even worse, if they want to do a reboot.
I was supposedly the "target" audience for SGU and I hated the show. At the time I was part of online forums dedicated to Stargate and with a few exceptions nobody liked SGU back then either.
If they want to make a new show, they need to better understand what made the show so different and special when compared to other sci-fi series.
I think they'll screw up and close the new show after the first season.

I'm worried the writing will be rushed. I hope the writers are planning longer term multi-season storylines. None of the Lucian Alliance stuff that didn't land well with Stargate Universe. Hopefully it will be based on the second half of Stargate Universe and how they brilliantly seeded the galaxy with humans several thousand years ago
IF any new Stargate happens they have to give you a tiny cameo in it.
10 years ago i would have done almost anything for more stargate movies or series hell even a proper game but now its one of the few ips i love that has not got bogged down with preachy messages RIPSTARGATE

I loved both the movie and sg1, and atlantis . I would play on the Anunnaki idea, have the goa'uld be 8 feet tall and the jaffa helmets induvidualy represent each of the god they are ? Make it a bit more misterious and creepy.
I hate how I can get Stargate SG1 from Amazon, but for Atlantis I would have to book MGM+. Why is my boy Rodney a DLC character? Amazon already owns MGM.

Much as I adore StarGate ... I'd rather see an entirely new universe instead of a rehash, reboot ... well, maybe if they got Kurt Russell involved. I think he and Michael Shanks as Daniel would actually work well together, but really, after the defeat of the Ori, the project should have been mothballed for maybe a new generation to be brought in as a renegade System Lord is either begging for assistance or attacking Earth. No doing to this universe what they've done to others and, frankly, it's gonna be another five to ten years before the whole "woke" "girl boss" thing is old news. (Yes, I know, it is already old news, but Hollyweird hasn't received the message enough yet) As though Sam Carter was not a massive girl boss before the term got coined. I don't trust the current studios to keep it true.

It's a movie, not a clip show! The budget is the budget. They are a bunch of pencil-pushing, bean-counting idiots! You tell them, if they don't like it, I'm gonna take it somewhere else!

Look we have to be realistic about this there's something incredibly wrong with Amazon that they have not gave the green light for the series and we really don't have a final or firm answer on why with all their failures of recent shows and no solid Sci-Fi series coming out it does not make any sense of why they wouldn't have already started as a production on this series so there has to be something that we do not know that is holding this up or simply they have no intention of making it at all
If we learned anything from the Henry Cavill Warhammer movie debacle, it's that ammazzon will demand that the series be woke.
So even if a new series will be made, there is no guarantee that it'll be good.

I doubt that they'll do it right! MGM is only looking to make a quick buck with subscriptions on MGM+. Besides It's almost impossible to get all the original writters involved. Just like other franchises it will be difficult to get it done right!
Can we redo the second half of the last season of sg1 I felt it was rushed to try and find some conclusions to end the big plot they had set up but fell short on the end

Let us hope that those guys at MGM+ are true fans of Stargate. If this is going to be another crap taken on another franchise I will just not watch it. Remember last true Star Trek for instance was Star Trek Enterprise, whatever came afterwards is what I call Crap Trek. If that is the case then they are just tossing money down the drain and wasting our time.
Edit: Yeah that LOTR lookalike was bad, very bad. I watched the trailer and just thought to myself WTF is this CRAP.

Amazon knows that series tend to fail these days due to 'the message' and an established history of failure. They're not going to invest a ton of revenue into a project that has a high risk of being rejected by association. Even The Boys, which started out strong, has been on a downward spiral. Rings of Power's history speaks for itself along with Wheel of Cri..er..Time. Add Disney's perversion of the Star Wars franchise and what has been going on with New Trek and the odds of any high-dollar project getting green-lit currently are slim-to-none. Currently, people expect any project to be crap, because that's what they've been given for years.

I just wonder why Amazon thinks a movie is a good idea, like where are they getting that data that it would be profitable? Considering the 1994 movie didn't do all that great at just under $72M Domestic on a $55M budget. Sure in that era it probably made back just enough not to be a total loss. But unlike then, movies today carry way too much bloat in their budgets meaning a Stargate Movie today would likely cost $140M or more to make. And based on other flops with the same budget I feel its far too risky. While the first movie was pretty good it didn't win over mainstream audience back then so I fail to see how it would today, particularly is it has TV sensibilities.
I think it's a better idea to test run it on TV first with a lower budget to see if the audience is truly there, after all that's where some of the best Stargate came from. Not knocking the 94 movie, because it's very different. But lets be honest, it's more of a cult classic now than a great movie of its time. But hey, it's not my Money, so they can do whatever they want.
The stargate is bigger than startrek and star wars. It got more active watchers.
