      Ba-by, real country music has been whored out to "pop" to the extent that country music selection is George Strait and Taylor Swift and nothing in between - until now with Chris Stapleton. I now wish to say that I love George Strait! Anyway, once in a generation you come upon a transcendent artist in the country genre...Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw come to mind in previous years as artists who brought me back to Mother Country. Chris Stapleton has punched my ticket for this generation. Furthermore, being a girl from Alabama I LOVE seeing a man who thinks he knows what he is going to get when he is hearing a country song and is lifted by the transcendent sound of a country performer who just gets it, and invites everyone to the party.

      Jose Lopez - Chris Stapleton is definitely a force in Country Music, but his playlist is not that long, nor has he stood the test of time. There is still this one dude out there that has dominated the Country Music World for over 20 years, and he Is still killing it, and is truly "STILL" the BEST Country Music Artist on the planet. Maybe you heard of him, his name is George Strait, oh, and he just released his latest ass-kicking album.

    Talent is talent, no matter what the genre is. I may not be a big fan of country (especially most of it released within the last 15 years), but I always tip my cap when someone's doing something truly extraordinary. Chris Stapleton is a true talent in a genre that's been lacking soul since Country became Pop Country. Nothing about Pop Country is special or different than what anyone else has done, but what Chris Stapleton is doing is truly special.

    Its Country.. Its a remake of a song by George Jones who is a country legend.

    • @michaelvondrake7489
      @michaelvondrake7489 6 лет назад +6

      Cody Price actually it pre-dates George Jones. A couple (I cannot remember their name atm) originally released it in the mid-50's It is not so much of a cover as a re-interpretation. George Jones kind of ruined the song... Chris Stapleton infused Blues and Soul with a Rock chord structure into it.

    • @jasonpranger8485
      @jasonpranger8485 6 лет назад +9

      I was a David Allen Coe song

    • @michaelvondrake7489
      @michaelvondrake7489 6 лет назад +4

      Jason Pranger Right. David Allen Coe was first to record and release it. George Jones then made an attempt at it. Both are horrible compared to other songs Those artists had done before or since. Chris Stapleton basically did a complete reinterpretation of the song. David and George cannot touch the Chris Stapleton version.

      @michaelvondrake7489 6 лет назад +2

      Joshua Miles he IS a legend. My father is one of his biggest fans, but he himself has said he doesn't remember recording the song and his heart was never behind it because he was drinking so heavily. Legend or not, his version sucks. Especially, as I stated, compared to what he himself was capable of.

    It's a Country song, performed in a Bluesy way. Chris is an excellent singer, and that's him on the guitar.

    Chris Stapleton is a blues player u are correct. He is listed as country because of the bigger platform that country provides. This is a remake of an older country song by George Jones. His wife is the one singing in the back ground and she has an awesome voice as well.

    Brandy and honey is used in warm tea as a cold remedy. Ie "you're as warm as a glass of brandy and honey," "I stay stoned on your love all the time"
    You don't get any better than that
