everything about the scene leading up to this fight is amazing. The silence, him turning the area hellish and you just know hes fucking pissed at hide.
I never bothered with those talismans. Yesterday, I fought that boss and instantly regretted my decision. Luckily, Lightning-resistant gear helped me mitigate some of the damage and 3x Scampusses sealed the deal
I know that Yomi's supppsed to be a deity, but darn if this boss fight feels kinda bullshit. It isn't because it's acyually hard, but because most if the time the lightinigs hitboxes gets you even in the other side of the arena. And the god darn horizontal lightning rays which he happily spams.
The utmost satisfaction I had to finally beat this guy to a pulp after all the havoc he caused...Miyoshino, Yoshitatsu , Nagamasa , Katsuie , Toshimitsu , Hachisuka and most importantly Tokichiro....This one is for you

@@yamishika8616 Kashin is responsible for them aswell. Him taking control over Saito Toshimitsu and influencing mitsuhide to kill nobunaga caused deaths of oichi and noh.
Don't forget Minamoto no Yorimitsu and Abe no Seimei who slept for centuries just to be obliterated because of him... Or the fact that it was his fault if Ashiya Doman was able to get so much power... It is also more or less said that he was the one who freed the Nue in mount Kurama, bringing about the corruption of the sacred place AND of every Nigitama living there I'm still wondering if he didn't have something to do with the Sohaya's village destruction too. In fact... that... thing is the direct or indirect cause of almost every evil happening in both games.
The clones are a real pain in the ass but you can get rid of them easily if you save enough MP (forgot what was the term in this game for them) for some multitarget Yokai spell. Certain Ninja bombs could do the trick too but I didn't try them when I beat the boss.

Pretty sure they all use different theme with ashiya and otakemaru have their own unique theme, except for that one time otakemaru and the boys stole kasha's
"I refuse to die..." The way that bastard said that gave me chills. It wasn't a phrase said in despair. Neither in fear or even in hatred (wich could have been expected). No, is was nothing less than a promise. A simple truth : No matter what you do to him, he will simply refuse to die and continue coming at you one way or another. Knowing that not even a Freaking TIME PARADOX was able to do the trick made that quote one of the scariest I've ever heard in a game. It's like that damn monster is impossible to kill. You can just barely seal it away and even then, he will someway, somehow find a way to come back to haunt you.
I believe he's not done yet, he'll still come back, the only way to stop him would be to travel back in time again and calm Otakemaru down before he starts killing everyone in the village, however this would probably erase Kashin Koji and current Hide from existance
I don't know why, but during some point of this theme, especially at ( 6:15 ) it feels like the boss theme itself is trolling you. Its still a great theme I mind you but hearing that part of the theme plays in it, feel like the game itself knows your about to have VERY BAD TIME when that music kicks in. It even have build up moment before its kicks in lol.
It was a new, phase-alternating system. Essentially, the bosses switched in and out of different phases dependent on if they activate the Yokai Realm or not
No that is absolutely horrible design. The phases as they are in Nioh 2 are by far the best way to implement such a concept, through the dark realms, you can partially control when the 2nd phase occurs by depleting the boss's KI. Otherwise, you end up fighting a boss, learning phase 1 after dying multiple times to it, get into phase 2, get destroyed again as you have to go through phase 1 which you've already mastered, until you veeeery sloooowwwllyyyy learn phase 2 due to fighting phase 1 over and over and over again. It artificially extends the duration of the game. That's what pissed me off the most about Sekiro.
Weird how this battle is more difficult and has more "twists" than the actual final one when Kashin Koji is supposed to be a product of the lesser and weakened "essence" of Otakemaru after he was defeated in the Heian period.
Imma be honest: I feel kinda cheated that the "Lightning Gods of Yomi" were just all the gods collectively manifesting from one person. I wanted to see some weird, bonkers 1v8 shitfest gankfest just to see how miserable it'd be considering how gank bosses in Team Ninja Souls games are pretty rough.
I never thought I could hate a lightning-related boss as much as Nue ever again. I was wrong. The Raikou of Yomi was SO. MUCH. WORSE! Didn't help at all that my build was VERY intensive on lightning itself, so I didn't do shit for damage. Got it below half health once, but had to switch to Purification Talismans and Lightningstop to actually win. Ippon-Datara as well to stun it out of it's attacks and it became a lot easier. But seriously, I despise bosses that directly counter or in other ways invalidate my builds. Was fun though, honestly. Having to adapt made victory feel much sweeter.
Yeah, how dare there be bosses that are based on your primary element😂 They should all be weak to the specific damage type you happened to choose and play by your rules. Anyone who’s played a souls like since 2009 knows that youre supposed to have a back up build and a back up builds back up build from the get go.
A lot of Nioh 2 is rpg elements - getting armor, weapons, tools and abilities to counteract anything you go up against. Of course, nioh 2 needs more skill then Nioh 1's burn or be burned design, but you still need to build against what your going to fight. Think of it like Elder Dragons in MH - You don't bring traps to those, and you get the best food possible for combat (unless you got good shit and you can shred it in seconds, but the point still stands lmao)
No way he is harder than otakemaru. With this dude you just need to not be too greedy and you're gonna be good. Also use a wide aoe soul core to clean his clones quickly.
