Did my darndest to play it exactly the way I did on the recording, but it was several years ago and I usually improvise a lot of the parts from night to night so I probably got some of it wrong! #loveyourself

Thanks to Ryan Thompson Basses, Darkglass Electronics, Cordial Cables & Babicz Full Contact Hardware.
Why is everybody in Thank You Scientist only capable of producing BANGERS!!? Dead ass, all I ever listen to is you guys and Phish.
Thanks we’re workin hard on the next batch!
@@CodyMcCorry LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Bruh I've been learning this song for months now and I only just found this
Ok love it! More toes in the pedal cam next time please
I second that
Maaaan that dirty OC-2 sound is SO good. Definitely know the feeling at the end when you've finished a long take too hahaha!
Hah I'm glad you can relate
As soon as I heard Terraformer, this song stuck out. I loved the middle part after the 9/8 section. So sick!!
yaaaaasss!
💗
This is just grotesquely good shit.
I’ve listened to this song so many times now but only just came across this video. Why must my favorite music also have challenging (but fun to play once it’s mastered) bass parts? I really hope No Treble or another bass focused place makes a post about this video.
Thanks man!
Wow, this song grooves so hard! And that OC-2 is an incredible sound.
Yeah it’s one of those pedals that once you have it you can never not have it
@@CodyMcCorryI just have a zoom B3n multieffect pedal, and the tracking isn't nearly that good on any of the octave effects. Have you checked out the new OC-5? The polyphonic mode looks really interesting.
Haven’t tried it yet but I hear it’s pretty rad!
6:28 to 6:45 is insane
Unknown virtuoso. Kind of stays in the background when they perform. We hear him though. Fantastic.
Yep. Seen them a week ago. I was right up and front watching him and Tom. Fucking crazy!
Cody, mate. Jesus wept you are unbelievably impressive. Wow. Absolutely love your work in Thank You Scientist. After this pandemic is over, will have to see you live in the North of England either my home of Liverpool or Manchester!
Thanks man! Hope we can head back over there soon!
@@CodyMcCorry that would be fantastic! If you can perform in Liverpool then please do! The home of The Beatles would welcome you with open arms! Especially The Cavern Club!
TYS fanbouy here. You guys are fucking amazing
Please do Birdwatching next! 🐿️
❤️❤️❤️
@@TheAntibozo obviously my fave song
Bass goals forever
I love your playing and cannot wait to see your future endeavors in music.
Thanks Bill! Working on the new We Used to Cut the Grass record as we speak
Yes, yes, yes, to everything about this. Thank you.
Amazing to see how much simpler the parts are once you see them written down. Now if I could just understand the logic behind which sections are with octave and which aren't....
Love basslines that do lots of tricks even abandoning the low ends since the rest of the band can stand on their own.
Hey Cody. Bought the song book on sheet happens recently. Just wanted to say amazing transcriptions and goddam my wrists hurt now lol. Sick stuff
Thanks man, glad you dig it! Hit me up with any questions at codymccorry.com!
@@CodyMcCorry thanks man. will do for sure!
So SICK!
this sounds like every musician who featured on the soundtrack of a sonic game made a song, this shit never stops being good
Yeeeeaaahhh 😅
This is well outside of my technical capability. Challenge accepted!!
This added value to my day. Awesome skill.
wow!
i mean ugh yay
Great stuff, man! Keep 'em coming!
jeez.
Alright, alright... this song looks simple. Hold my beer...
🤯👏🙌🙌🙌👏🤯
IDK how many times i listen to this. its honestly like 3 times a week... And im a drummer lol
Happy Friday and excellent video!
I hope you don't mind if I ask about your recording set-up...did you use 2 cameras (1 for you and 1 for pedal)? Did you use OBS to capture/record? Then screen capture the scrolling tabs from a program on computer?
I just used my iPhone, it's actually the same shot of the OC-2 I used in the Visitors Pomp (We Used to Cut the Grass) playthru video; just copied it in. And yes I screen captured the tabs in Guitar Pro and then painstakingly corrected all the tempo discrepancies in Final Cut!
@@CodyMcCorry Nice and thank you for explaining! I can imagine the amount of effort that took lol. It feels unappreciated at times, but you rocked it
Impressive... but can he play Smoke on the Water?
I'd subscribe, but right now your sub count is 420 and I can not intentionally disturb what fate has decided.
Thank you I am savoring it
