Putting Gucci 2 levels above Tudor, just because you like one of their models, which is about a $1300 quartz watch, is nuts. The reason you haven't seen that design, btw, is because most brands don't desire to put their logo EVERYWHERE on a watch. If you're going to base the tiers on 1 or 2 watches a brand has, then just have the tier list be specific watches, not the brand as a whole. Honestly, more people should just do that for a tierlist instead of entire brands. If you do entire brands, it should only be what they released in any given year (ie. Nico Leonard's annual tier list).
@@CanadianEhHole I see your point but it’s as simple as this for me: Gucci has 1 or 2 watches I actually like, Tudor has 0 watches I actually like, so Gucci has to be above Tudor? And for most of the video, I based my opinion on the brands ranges of watches.
Mostly agree with what you are saying.... Butttt, you need to look into Breguet, glassute and alanga und sone. Also casio do make luxury versions of there watches, they have a line of G-Shock that cost $2000 and are made of a really amazing type of titanium, and incredible modules in the. @@carloslee2663 I was just saying that he forgot a couple brands, not that I don't like those brands. I'm just saying that you're the snob for hating on Chinese brands when they make the best watches for the price
I think that putting tudor so low is a bit harsh. They provide a good value for the price, especially if you want to buy a bronze or silver case piece. I would personally put the watch into the Don't Love Don't Hate, since if I didn't enjoy how they look. It's hard to hate the watches when they provide a better value with a similar quality to rolex. Also putting Gucci above Tudor with the quality that fashioln brand watches are made is insane to me.
For me, design and aesthetics will always be more important than materials and value. If I have 5k to spend on a Tudor or a gucci watch that'll need repairing in a year, I'll choose the gucci every time because I like it.A £5k watch that looks boring and horrible to me is worth nothing. I have money elsewhere so I don'k about watches from an investment/value perspective.
How can you not like any tudors? They literally have the most standard line of nice looking watches. Rolex quality without the prices. You can't tell me you looked at the black bay 54 for 4k and said nah?
From what I’ve seen of his content, it’s purely because he doesn’t like that the dials are plain. I don’t agree, as other than grand seiko, a lot of heavily patterned dials look tacky to me. he doesn’t care about quality, movement, or value, just purely based on his aesthetic preferences. Which I guess is how an overpriced quartz gucci, is above Tudor, tag heuer etc, It’s fine, it’s his personal preference
@@Street0yster mostly accurate, except for the quality part. I think people just get caught up in the few watches I’ve critiqued that they have extremely strong passions for, as well as the few “low quality” watches I’ve said aren’t so bad. I love that Gucci watch for very specific aesthetic reasons but would I take all Gucci watches over all Seiko watches for example, NO. I care about all aspects of watches, I just don’t value movements and brand history etc as much as I value aesthetics because at the end of the day, no one can say watches are necessary in todays world with all the technology we have access to for timekeeping, accuracy, reliability etc. so what good is a better movement if the watch looks horrible, if that makes sense?
@watcheswithkym you rate like I would have when I was 15 years old. Some of these watches are so tacky and i’d never wear to work. Meanwhile my Tudor 54 is sleek and professional and I get compliments on it from basically every client. I just don’t see how something so neutral can be considered bad. It’s like saying you don’t like vanilla ice cream. Sure some people might say it’s mid, but anybody say it’s bad is begging for attention
@ if you think my opinion is simply me begging for attention then why are you even here in my comments? Your mind is already made so now you’re just wasting your time and mine.
@watcheswithkym I get it. At the end of the day, you like what you like. I hate the seamaster 300 because of the bezel font, but a lot of people like it. No 2 people will have the same aesthetic tierlist. In terms of quality and movement, materials make a huge difference to how the watch feels when you wear it and how it looks over time. Movement is more so about reliability and how good the sweep looks. Quartz doesn’t look as nice imo and the second never lands on the indices evenly. I have a black bay 58 and love how it looks because of its classic aesthetic. So you putting it at the bottom is hurtful 😂
Problem is watches they all look the same. Brands have to get inspiration either from the very past or the very future. We need different shapes. And brands they all get their inspiration from themselves. Hence the reason all watches are so similar. Also all is them (well most of them) look like a submariner or and oyster etc. I find the very old watches the most interesting. Think cartier crash etc...
Whoa there were some serious hot takes in there; completely disagree with you on breitling, bold of you to only favour the most unloved Rolex; AP and Moser are rightfully in their spot; Breguet also belongs to the top; Tudor really is overrated
Pretty much agree with most of your assessments. Like how youve factored in price / value at that price. Exceptions Gucci would be a dogpoo watch for 1k. Paying for fashion brand name. Moser very cool dials but kind of a 1 trick pony. Rate highly tho. Dunno anything re veneziano..look like another fashion brand. Omega..you dont like the aqua terra or rhe constellation ? Are you really a watch enthusiast ? Only joshin..but wow theyre classics. Swatch are trash..made of plastic.
