Hülya, 37, was born with congenital dysmelia in her legs and hands. Although her hands looked visibly deformed, it was her legs that caused her the biggest physical challenges growing up. By the age of six, Hülya, had undergone 21 operations. Then at the age of 18 she contracted sepsis and was told by doctors they would have to amputate her legs. As an adult, Hülya had to learn how to walk again with prosthetics as well as use a wheelchair. The mum of one says crawling is often the easiest way to get around and she also uses a low wheeled trolley. Hülya, from Stuttgart Germany, also runs a fashion boutique and together with her husband Dennis, posts striking photos of her posing without her legs on social media. She doesn’t want anyone to feel sorry for her and hopes her photos will be an inspiration instead.

Self love is important! They accept their disability's. No matter what you look like. That's important. They're also surrounded by those who give them lots of love.
i think its cos they have developed REAL empathy , their own troubles have opend their eyes to others and it makes them kinder , they see the deeper meaning of life as usually their situations have forced them to really see whats important in life

I agree... tbh most of the ´disabled' people that I have met are children, including my own son..... but they have all been so amazing, strong and kind.... it's really amazing to see especially given that so many 'able bodied' adults just are not.... I always try to remember that when I'm feeling down or grumpy....
My brother was in an accident 8 years ago and had to have his left leg amputated to the knee. A few weeks ago he was in another accident and had to have his right leg also amputated at the knee. I hope and pray he can find a confidence like this beautiful woman.

Drinking and abusing you is one thing, but acting crazy or abusive in general without the use of any alcohol or drugs is unfortunately not an excuse but something they CAN'T HELP.
Adhd, severe ocd, ptsd, narcissistic personality disorder. All of those can cause extreme abusive behavior and they need help and therapy.

I can see what her husband is saying about contrast. She doesn't strike me at all as disabled, until you really notice that she is. She's very beautiful and strong- physically, but also in her heart. Thank you for sharing.
Her hands are extraordinary! I'd love to watch an episode about how they enable actions most of us couldn't imagine. And she gets about just fine without her lower legs. Her husband's incredibly lucky to have such a unique lady.

Its amazing how strong and how beautiful she has remained her personality still very cheerful and giggly also i love the photo idea because average ppl who have not suffered might look at her and think of all the difficulties her life must have but instead she is sharing the perpsective that life can still be great and to not be so focused on the struggles.

It's strange that we're still at a point in human history where seeing someone with physical differences still makes people gawp, be nasty, or just fail to know how to treat the person. Sometimes our differences make certain things much harder, don't be the kind of person that adds to that difficulty.
I think it is our nature to look askance at someone who is different. People often stare at my autistic son when he talks to himself and acts different. I always smile and say "his name is Adam" and they usually smile back and then turn away. Most people mean well; they just don't know what to do or say.
I think one of the cutest fun photos was her and her legs on the couch. They are posed beside her chillin while she is on the other part of the couch, it reminded me of the scene from Beetlejuice. It was super cute and showed a great sense of humor from them both! Great job!
I wonder was there also a sense of relief? I mean having legs that weren’t really functional or completely formed would mean a lot of pain and maybe take a lot of time and energy to maneuver would it not? Regardless I really do love your photos. Both you and your husband are rock stars in your own right so together you are changing the world. I particularly love the photos with your prosthetic legs beside you as it is a beautiful fun way to show that you can make light of any situation as laughter is truly, for me, the absolute best medicine. I don’t take your situation as a joke, I take it as real and not so unique. Everyone has a disability, some are obvious and some are not, but they are all beautiful because it’s part of what makes us who we are and that is what is unique. Also I love that you also take pictures of your every day life doing all kinds of activities because there’s still a lot of misunderstanding people that believe that a woman in a wheelchair can not do what an able bodied woman can do. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit and I must say your home is beautiful and so is your family.
I have had two spine operations, And have to deal with pain every day, Then I see people like this lady , And I ashamed. Even though walking is difficult, I am still walking, Diabetes has nearly wiped my kidneys. And control of urine is a real guessing game , often squirting my under clothes.

I invite you to release that shame, dear soul. Your burdens are still valid burdens. I am learning this myself: we mustn’t compare our own pain and suffering with other another suffering-it only causes us more suffering. You are strong, you have survived obstacles that got you to the present moment, and you i’m pretty sure that you are an inspiration to someone you know. So give yourself a high five and just keep swimming!
