It's amazing how quickly he went from fearful to your best friend, and all it took was gentleness and patience.
It is amazing how generous animals are in their forgiveness of our species. We humans need to learn a few things from them. I am surprised that they have not tired of our abuse and decided not to eat us.
+Shini Unfortunately, the treats contain tranquilizers in most if not all of these videos. It's completely understandable, though.
+Matt D : No they do not. Don't be so malicious. Only a sick and mean-spirited person would try and destroy the reputation of good people who clearly do such useful and amazing work for animals and society in general. Either present your proof or shut up.
DeAnn Young Obviously they do not use tranquilisers in the food. The behaviour of the dogs during the rescues makes this obvious. Anyone who has ever worked with dogs in a clinical setting knows their behaviour would be very different from what we see in these videos if they had been tranquilised even on an incremental basis. Under-achievers tend to throw false accusations around whenever they are confronted by successful people who are doing good in their lives. They can't bear to be reminded of their own personal failure.
+Helenaville Who said anything about ruining reputations? They drug the dogs so they don't suffer undue stress in a malnourished state. They mention tranquilizers in one of the video's descriptions. It wouldn't take 10 minutes to search Hope for Paws to find the right one. I'm not looking for you. It doesn't take brains to realize that the camera cuts away just before the dog suddenly becomes the most well behaved pup on the planet.

I am also an owner of an German shepherd and I will always be. It just Hurts me to see dogs like this. It looks like this was one of the easiest rescues because they are so kind and gentle and I think it was wrong how they brought up the cage
my German Shepard eats everything and is annoying........everyone stop saying that I'm a bad owner, I all treat all my dogs with respect, and there perfectly healthy, I only said that my German Shepard is annoying because the biting has gotten to such a point to where I have bled...........and yes I'm a child I'm only twelve. 😡😤😡

I had tears running down my face he was all snuggling up with Eldad. A beautiful rescue and all those people who helps I pray blessings over your lives, It was so precious when those kids started sharing.
I ALWAYS love that moment when trust is established, the look on the dogs face and in the eyes melts my heart every time.

I was just about to write that that's when I started crying... And haven't stopped yet. How amazing that he wanted to be petted more than he wanted chicken... What an absolute sweetheart. Those sad eyes... Broke my heart.
How does a dog like that even end up on the street? He had clearly been someone's pet, and until quite recently too. WHY CAN'T PEOPLE WHO NO LONGER WANT THEIR PETS BRING THEM TO A SHELTER? Rather than just cruelly abandon them. I will truly never get it. Are they merely THAT stupid that they can't think of it? Or are they just psychopaths, with no empathy? (99% that it's the latter.) Not that that should matter, but a dog like this, a purebred GSD (with a sweet temper), it will take him about a day before he's adopted! What absolute asswipes. I hope they rot in hell.

It was so bittersweet when he finally realized his rescuer wasn't going to hurt him and buried his head in his arms. It's almost like he was saying, "Oh thank god there's finally someone here to love me!"
How smart and sensitive this dog is. No wonder, He is German Shepherd, so He is very special. A big thank you to everybody who rescued him.

Its because there are a small minority of the human race who are the polar opposite to us....there horrible, pathetic little people who think that abandoning something is easier then just simply driving him to a dog shelter....its people like Edgar here who make me believe there are really good people out there. I for one would never ever abandon a dog.

This rescuer is amazing, he has the most gentle reassuring way about him. The dogs give hime complete trust. It is an amazing and hard to find quality. The work you and the other rescuers do is wonderful. God bless!

@@princedevitt8367 that's true. You need to have a heart to give love. I used to work in hospice. The way the nurse chose who she wanted to hire was to visit people who were nurses in training. She would talk about the shortage of caring nurses. She would show
a video about hospice care and show grateful patients at the end of life and grateful family. When she turned the lights on she looked around to see who was crying. She would choose the criers as she felt that meant we were sensitive. I can't hold back the tears when I watch these rescues. Animals responds to love even sooner than humans do and they appreciate and are more devoted than humans. You never hear of your dog going to the neighbor for affection the minute you leave for work. Thank God for these precious ones.

It's so damn hard to get into the river; the authorities need to set up an access system for rescues like this.

True, but the real issue here is physically dealing with the fence and high concrete wall. The legal (no trespassing) barrier is always present, but in cases like this the rescuers come having already decided to disregard it in favor of saving the dog's life. The legal barrier isn't going away any time soon and sadly rescues like this will likely continue.
I know Put a dangerzone sign on the fence so no fucking human can put dog in the river.. If a human touches the fence they will die, actually what if theyre innocent... but to put a dangersign on it, to warn them not to dump a dog in the river
It's also so easy to get stuck in there. If you happen to somehow manage your way in, you can very, very easily get stuck. And if there's no way to contact anyone or get anyone's attention, you're just doomed to stay there until someone finally notices you.
When it comes to German Shepherd's my family has a saying.
They are just giant sized baby furballs. I have yet to meet a malicious German Shepherd

Poor old guy, it must have been awful having to sleep on that concrete with those bad hips. Beautiful moments around the four minute mark when he realises that everything is going to be OK for him and shows his gratitude.
Sad thing when there are not professional breeders but rather breeders for profit. german shepards have to be breeded carefully to avoid as many of the inherited hip-issues as possible.

Dogs are a lot like people here. They just want to be loved, but a lot more they do not want to be abused.
If you had one door with a 50/50 chance of getting a Hug or a Punch to the face, and another door with a 100% chance of no interaction with anyone, you'd pick the no-interaction-door 100% of the time.
Since Animals do not know all the social drama, it's a lot easier to make them trust you though. With people, you always assume some backstabbing. Animals... they don't expect it from you and do not expect it from them, which makes it wholesome. pure love.

***** Max lived to be 13 and suffered from Hip Dysplasia I put him down not because of the Hip Dysplasia but because of a heart attach I believe was caused by the Medication I was giving him. In 2001 I can't remember all the medications I had him on but one had a side affect of heart problems.

the kindness of strangers, rescuing this beautiful german shepherd, Biggie, restores my hope faith in humanity, I hope Biggie found a loving new home to go to.
My doggie showed up at my house roaming aimlessly. He looks a lot like this boy. He was frail and tired, and I checked for chip, and nothing. Called animal control and no one claimed him. Needless to say, after all that....he won my heart. He has been with me for 8 months now. And he is my world. Love this video!
