Lisa Chiarelli accompanied me on this rescue and helped me locate the dogs “home”. After struggling with capture, Lisa was able to gain Adrienne’s trust and feed her. She was starving. Adrienne remembered what love felt like and came back with us without hesitation.

I know, it’s crazy. My dog pit bull is almost 11 and I swear, she’s even cuter than when I got her 8 years ago. When you form a real bond with another sentient and sensitive being, that’s an oath.
Every one of my dogs has been a rescue. My Jack Russell was 13 weeks and literally walking into the uth room and I was like nope she's mine. And she was for 10 years until she succumbed to a bad heart malformation. I miss my Carlie Jay

I know. I always said that God would have to part my animals like He parted the Red Sea so that I could greet Him. How much more that will be true for Eldad and those who do this work? I have been blessed to have had many dogs, a few cats (I'm allergic) and, for a time, was a zookeeper. But my animal loved ones number so many less than Hope for Paws. This is why I am so thankful that I can donate to this great rescue. I don't have much, but I have this donation taken out of my disability check. This way, I don't even miss it and this helps me to remember to give. Thank you, Hope for Paws and all that contribute to this rescue. sometimes these dogs run away because they are scared of loud noises, sometimes they are abandoned, many different reasons, thank you so much for helping her!! She is beautiful!!
That is why 45 different countries has a law to put microchips into dog with owner name,so they are responsible and many times can be returned

@@bobbywall172 Yes, thank you, I own a black/tan german shepherd who is ten years old & a mixed breed shepherd who is eight yrs old, you are right! My gsd is chipped. I have also rescued a gsd who was only two yrs old w/heartworms because the owners didn't think it necessary to give him heartworm medicine, the other reason they gave him up is because he was constantly eating & they couldn't afford the food, which was, of course, due to neglect on the owner's part. I paid for the treatment for the heartworms & a friend of mine who works at a rescue found a home for him in Knoxville. The foster family adopted him there. The vet also neutered him as well.
pat murphy can’t afford to feed him huh?! I always wonder how some homeless people can afford to have a dog and would NEVER give up their best friend yet people with jobs and homes give that excuse 🙄 a lot of shelters offer low income families free dog food and I’m sure shots.
You guys are truly the best. I cant stop watching your videos. I am a HUGE animal lovers but especially dogs and it's been a dream of mine to volunteer and help rehabilitate dogs like this. I live in Canada and want to start donating my time because of you and what you do. Thank you so very much.

German Shepherds are among the very most intelligent of dogs, usually socialize with humans very easily and are apparently a dream to train compared to some breeds. There's a reason that they're one of the most preferred breeds for both the military and police. In honor of the loyal service of both police and military K9 units, I always feel sad to see German Shepherds come under hard times and always want to do something to help. Glad this one is in a better situation now.
hagamapama mines a living nightmare, she's absolutely nuts and doesn't stay calm for one second. And through all our tries, she only knows sit,stay,lay down and paw
Well, obviously there's stuff you haven't said, but it sounds like that dog needs to run more. If a dog can't calm down it's usually because they have a ton of unspent energy. German shepherds are among the most athletic breeds, they're bred to run, like most herding dogs, and they love doing it. If you can't squeeze more time in your day to run the dog, maybe consider a treadmill. Or do that thing Cesar Milan did sometimes and get some wheels under you (a bike, roller blades, that kind of thing) and let the dog really go flat out beside you rather than just walking.

James MH do you take her for walks? Take her where she can run and burn off some of that energy? Some breeds need more exercise than others, and more so the working breeds.
hagamapama I had one for a while, an older dog who was being given away, I guess you could say I fostered her. I would have another in a heartbeat. She was sweet, loving, loyal, so smart, so calm. She didn't care for my cat, but just ignored her....funny thing was, the cat adored her, and did anything she could to get her attention and be near her.

I have german shepherd too. I adopted her when i found her was threw with stone by some goddamn kids. And one of the best feeling in my whole life is when i saw her life is changed and now she is a happy dog :D thanks for your effort to bring unwanted dogs to their new life.

There was a video here of them saving a puppy that had it's foot cut off and thrown 30 ft. into the canal. They rescued Jordan and now you wouldn't recognize him, Hope For Paws does amazing work, Thank all of you and the foster families you find.

She actually ran away on July 4th. She got freaked out the by fireworks and jumped the fence. Shortly after the vid was posted, the owners contacted HFP and were reunited with their dog.
+shinhawk it was actually a week after the 4th. I'm only correcting because I don't wanna see hate comments towards the owners for having a dog out on the 4th when they really didn't.
+MistyCullen Either way, I'll hate on the owners a little for not having the dog micro chipped and not having a yard that can contain the animal. But if what you say is true, I'm glad the owners got her back and hopefully they have corrected those issues.

One of my rescued GSDs probably escaped from someplace. When he was found walking the street they couldn’t even do temperament testing on him. We suspect, at the minimum , he was beaten on recall because when I first got him I used the “come” command and his tail immediately went between his legs and he tried to get away, so sad 😞 . I never used it again and whistled instead. People often feel the need to harden a GSD up because they want the dog to be a viscous guard dog, pisses me off to no end.
I so love it when your rescues finally lay their heads down, relaxed.

+buck rowley the salt is the least of this dogs concerns at that moment. The benefits of the burger outweighed the risks and the dog was captured and going to be in good care because of the burger. don't be so nit picky

I'm a 27 year old male, and rarely do I ever get emotional about things. These videos always make me cry, especially when you can see the animal realize it's going to be ok.

Shepherds have a special place in my heart. One was the very first dog that I ever got to play with when I was a little kid (kindergarten age). It was 1970 and our town's only K-9 cop lived behind us, and when he was home, would put his shepherd in the back yard on a 30' chain. He would look intently at us kids playing and would bark wanting to join in. All the other kids were scared of him but not me. I slowly approached him one day and see if he'd let me pet him. He did, and we had a ball playing and rolling around in the dirt. He became my best buddy and we'd play every day with one of us waiting on the other to get home. I would sneak food from my dinner plate and stuff it in my pocket, so after dinner was finished, and I went to play with my best buddy he always got a little snack. It got to where he knew what pocket I kept it in, and he'd playfully knock my feet out from under me and stick his nose in my pocket to get his treat (I was too slow I guess lol). We were best buds until we moved to a new home when I was in third grade. When I went to tell him goodbye I was crying and I think he knew something was going on. So, when he "tripped" me, got his treat, and saw me still crying he straddled me and put his head on my chest and wouldn't let me get up. He knew... because his Shepherd eyes turned sad the way only Shepherds do. The policeman had to come out back to get him off of me. The cop saw me crying and I explained that this was the last time I'd ever see him and I was moving away. He told me that other than him, I was the only one who the dog would let get close to him (unbeknownst to me, he had watched me many times out the window and watch us play). My buddy and me both cried going back to our homes. I'm 53yrs old now and never got to see my buddy again...but I never forgot him. I guess that's why Shepherds are my favorite. Maybe when my time is done, I'll get to see him again... and I'll have him a treat in my pocket.

I'm so thankful for the people who call Hope for paws to report these homeless dogs because without the phone calls these dogs would never be rescued. Those wonderful people along with Hope for paws are the heroes!!!!!!

I loooooove these videos. I do wish you'd use something other than cheap hamburgers which are made from tortured factory farmed animals - those animals matter as well!! A starving dog will eat anything. You are very compassionate so please take in to consideration what you are supporting - all lives matter! You are a hero for these dogs!

For all those who think that burger is unhealthy for stays
It's not unhealthy but also not to give all the time to your own dog. These dogs have had no food for a while and are fasting so a little bit of fat won't hurt at all.

If i had to have to pick my dream job, rescuing dogs would be it.
