A starving dog living by the freeway made it really hard for us to save her life.

- On the first day when I saw this dog by the freeway, I had no chance against her... she just bolted and disappeared! It took her two days to come back to the same location and then I brought reinforcements - I brought Loreta with me :-)
This video is cool because the main part of it was filmed with TWO cameras - it created a neat effect.
Loreta named her Hanako in memory of her own dog, Coco Hanako who recently passed away. If you will watch until the end you will see the cute little poodle she rescued from the shelter.
Rescues like this are dangerous because of their proximity to the freeway, they are dangerous to us because we could have gotten seriously hurt, and I am so happy it all worked out so well.
After receiving medical care, our friends at L.A. Animal Rescue invited Hanako to be in their foster home and they helped her so much and then found her an amazing forever home!

I don't know. I have eternal faith in humanity but these videos of these poor abused, tortured INNOCENT dogs that are just thrown out like trash, make me hate humanity sometimes.
But, at the same time, theses videos make me happy and I do what I can by donating 25 bucks every month to these wonderful people.
I do. I feel like humans are burning the world and I care about animals more. Not really but it all just feels so hopeless in the world. But animals can still make me cry/smile.

Loretta has the most beautiful soul. I mean Eldad is amazing also because he has such an intense love for animals, but Loretta's spirit really is so warm and special.

It happens quite often, actually.
Someone will adopt a dog that’s been chipped and rather than return the dog to where it was adopted from, they’ll just hand it off with no concern.
It's not that odd a story actually. We adopted a dog some years ago for similar reasons (our own dog was heartbroken and lonely after her two best friends passed away so we were looking for a companion for her). Unfortunately the dog we adopted, increadibly sweet as she was, turned out to have been incorrectly assessed and both didn't like other dogs (she tolerated bigger dogs but didn't much like smaller ones) and had severe attention needs (she'd become aggressive to our other dog if the other dog got any attention at all, she wanted ALL the attention) and despite paying for a dog trainer and spending 6 months with her it just didn't help much, she still attacked our dog multiples times and only got worse. We weren't informed beforehand but she was a special dog with special needs which coudln't be met with another animal in the house. Before someone asks why we didn't take her back, well the place we got her from wasn't...the best. She had never had a bath at all, was coated in fleas despite being sent over from another country months before, matted and had been fed nothing but whole raw chicken carcasses (this is dangerous for starved dogs as their desperation to eat can lead to them swallowing very sharp delicate chicken bones whole that can puncture their throats and digestive tracts) so we refused to send her back there. Now she lives with a good friend of ours and is spoiled and loved as she deserves to be by people who can give her the right environment for her, and my own dog has a new best friend who she adores. Sometimes good intentions are just that, intentions, not everything works out as you'd expect and it's wrong to demonise others for trying to do something good but failing.

I think Loretta is the dog whisperer - it's amazing to see how the dogs just seem to know she's there to help (no offence to anyone else - I do think she has a bit of a super power though ;))

Loreta, I'm so sorry for the loss of your own. It's terrible and I didn't think I'd survived my two experiences with our loved ones passing but adopting and giving a loving home to another beautiful baby made it easier. I could never truly convey with words how thankful I am to you and your team for the altruistic work you do saving all these beautiful creatures, finding them loving homes and showing them that we're not all monsters. I donate whatever I can each month and still feel it's nowhere near enough. Thank you so much.
I can't remember the exact words but I read something a long time ago that was written as if our furbabies who have passed wrote it. It said try not to be sad and don't let their passing be for nothing and to adopt/rescue another furbaby on their behalf and give them the love you once gave me.

What an amazing transformation! Idk how you managed to catch her when she ran past you. I couldn’t even see the hoop lol! She absolutely loved Loretta and their interactions were so sweet to watch. Glad she’s safe and happy in a forever home.

I cant imagine what she went through& how the dog feel when she used to have 3 owners and none of them wanted her and ended of being homeless. sometimes i think what if some dogs that got rescued got adopted by irresponsible people and ended up being on the streets again . It's AMAZING how these furbabies come from the worst of situations but yet are fostered back into good health and to where they love playing with both people and other animals. That speaks volumes about this foster homes. It shows their indispensable value!!!

I always give my boys extra hugs after watching these videos. We rescued them at 8 weeks old and love them with all my heart.

In most of these you can just see the animals rescued change so quickly. after being caught they just totally change and turn into very loving dogs. It's heartbreaking-ly sweet every time.
