He dropped her and ran for his life because he knew if he let me reach him, I would’ve fought to the death for my baby. I had to rush her to the emergency vet at 2am and they wouldn’t even touch her unless I forked up $800 on the spot. I had to apply for Care Credit over the phone to pay for it. She has puncture wounds in her neck and body and her shoulder was crushed like glass. I had to isolate her in my closet for 2 months so she could heal. Every day I’d be lying on the floor in my closet administering her meds, feeding her and cleaning her. I’m happy to report that 8 years later she’s a fully healed, fat fluff ball that runs to cuddle with me every time I sit or lay down. She’s my absolute princess and I’d be less of a person without her.

I think this was an older lady, maybe first time dog owner, maybe problems with her knees and can’t run (she was carrying a walking stick), but it doesn’t mean she doesn’t love her dog. Maybe she was using a retractable leash (which is not recommended) and Buffy was too far ahead for her to grab him. Maybe the leash broke or was attached to a 2nd collar that broke. Maybe she was too afraid of the coyote to run down the horse trail. The part with Ron and the garbage bag and leaving Buffy was a bit odd since he knew the coyote was in the vicinity, but everyone reacts differently. This video made me cry because Buffy is one sweet dog who was originally left to fend for himself on the streets. I think this video prompted many suggestions for Buffy's new owner such as using a dog harness, things to carry on her walks, etc.Thank you for another great video Eldad.
Nine Meals From Anarchy there was nothing my aunt had a similar situation she could not reach the dog because of the leash and the dog barking on the coyote she completely froze there pulling on the leash a little and softly so the coyote wouldn’t strike
She wasn't young but she also said she couldn't yell loud and she justified that. Of course she can yell. In my opinion the very fact that she was a mature woman would make me think she would have inquired about different leashes, etc... I have always thought mature people a smarter about things. I would expect a teenager to bring a dog home without and knowledge so that excuse seems poor to me. I think she's a timid lady, nothing wrong with that, who froze. Not the best choice to own a feisty dog

I'm so glad Buffy is okay and I hope his owner will use a different collar like the harness that goes over the dogs whole body so this never happens again!
pi'ikea exactly. She basically tried to feed the dog to the coyote, which she could have easily scared off. It’s a f@@@ing coyote. They aren’t exactly huge or aggressive. This story is so wrong it makes my blood boil.
she seems unsure of herself as a dog owner and seems either older or just not up to the task of anything more than a cat. Sorry, but again, she is not a good fit.
What an amazing little dog!!! So glad he found a loving home. I hope his owner will get him professionally fitted with a harness that he can't escape from on his walks! :) Thanks for sharing this!
Holy moly I just heard the rest of the story. Why did Ron wrap him and leave him?! Anyways-I’m just glad he was found and okay. What a little warrior angel. Bless you Buffy.
This is just speculation, but I think, since he thought the dog was dead, he didn't want Marilyn to see the mangled body, so he just wrapped the dog with the bag and went back to get the towel to wrap it up with something better and then they would go bury it or whatever.
he prob thought the dog was gonna die (which was not true)...idk why ron didnt let the lady bring buffy to the hospital...the dog be suffering more than he should had with those wounds :(

I think this video prompted many suggestions for Buffy's new owner such as using a dog harness, things to carry on her walks, etc.Thank you for another great video Eldad.
The most civil comment on this page. Well done. It was in the spirit of Eldad.
PLEASE DON'T MAKE EXCUSES FOR THIS IRRESPONSIBLE PET OWNER! THERE'S A LOT SHE "COULD" HAVE DONE. AND,, SHE WAS LAUGHING WHILE TELLING HER LIES!!!
Vicki Sacks maybe buddy slipped the collar of his head
What a loving story for Valentine’s Day ❤️
Buffy is such a little fighter! I love that about small dogs, they don’t care about size, come get some you coyote!! Bless Miss Marilyn and all the neighbors who put themselves in danger also for this animal. Beautiful community effort 💘

What a brave little dog!
Almost forgot to say... IMO the drawings are a great way to tell the story anytime it's not possible to film!
What a brave little dog!!! I'm so glad you all were able to get him home!!!❤❤❤
OMG! I was in years I'm so glad he's ok! You do amazing things Eldad don't ever stop!!💖💖
I donate $25.00 every month in memory of my late cousin. It's been over five years (June 2016) since she died. This is the way I honor one of her last wishes. I could not do their kind of work but I so appreciate all that the team does to help our needy fur babies! Thank you Eldad!!!!!!!!!!!
What an amazing story and such a brave little dog. So happy he's ok 💖💖
What a brave heart. She's lucky to have this adorable little fighter.
So cute!
So glad little cutie survive. Thanks.
Wish he lives happily forever!
he's such a fighter , its amazing the things that one little dog can do.🐶🐕🐩🐾
I'm so glad Buffy is okay and I hope his owner will use a different collar like the harness that goes over the dogs whole body so this never happens again!
pi'ikea exactly. She basically tried to feed the dog to the coyote, which she could have easily scared off. It’s a f@@@ing coyote. They aren’t exactly huge or aggressive. This story is so wrong it makes my blood boil.
@@ToddBrunsvold not aggressive? Do you know coyotes have been known to attack children?
she seems unsure of herself as a dog owner and seems either older or just not up to the task of anything more than a cat. Sorry, but again, she is not a good fit.
my heart just melted❤
i just love what hope for paws does in helping these animals. buffy is a blessed dog and so is his owner.
happy valentine's day😘
The real BRAVE HEART..💗🐾🐾
What an amazing little dog!!! So glad he found a loving home. I hope his owner will get him professionally fitted with a harness that he can't escape from on his walks! :) Thanks for sharing this!
Look at his wagging tail at the end!
...Dogs are freakin' MAGIC...
Holy moly I just heard the rest of the story. Why did Ron wrap him and leave him?! Anyways-I’m just glad he was found and okay. What a little warrior angel. Bless you Buffy.
My thought too about just leaving him
This is just speculation, but I think, since he thought the dog was dead, he didn't want Marilyn to see the mangled body, so he just wrapped the dog with the bag and went back to get the towel to wrap it up with something better and then they would go bury it or whatever.
he prob thought the dog was gonna die (which was not true)...idk why ron didnt let the lady bring buffy to the hospital...the dog be suffering more than he should had with those wounds :(
i guess ron doesn't like the dog.
Ron should have taken him to a vet immediately instead of assuming he was dead😤
Thank you for caring... GOD bless you always.. We love what you do... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh my gosh, what a brave little dog. I'm so glad he's okay
What a tough, brave little dog! He was protecting his owner. Loved this video.
