He was a fulll-fledged TV personality even on his audition tape. Actually, I'll venture to say that he sounds more original on it than on his subsequent TV appearances, which I like, but which have more repetition and stock phrases than necessary. Guy is one of those natural, unscripted comedians that bring smiles and laughter to people wherever they go. It's a very rare trait. I can recall being around only a couple of such individuals in my whole life. We read about his charitable work, but I think that pales in comparison with how many hundreds of restaurants he pushed towards long-time prosperity with his Triple D shows. It's obvious that he really cares about helping deserving eateries to become financially successful. The criticism of his limited food tastes is enormously unjustified. If you watch his shows, it will soon become obvious that he features cuisines from all over the world. Not only that - I've visited almost all the Triple-D-featured restaurants in my metro area, and all of them were out-of-the-ordinary food places.
He may not be for everyone, but you gotta love him cuz he dares to be his authentic wacky self. People don't like to see others happy in their own unique skin. That's one reason why he's criticized- it's hidden envy.
They never change their look. Like the Blonde with the Wave in her hair or Evel Knievel he would wear something that looked like his Jumping Leathers when making a public appearence ....
Yes he is. I just got thru reading how so many DDD owners of the places he has had on his show have massive respect for him. Their business at a minimum doubles...and a LOT of owners say he truly cares about them.
WOW.....I am such a huge fan of guy its ridiculous. I was just watching Triple D and wondered to myself " Did Guy always have this amazing funny personality or is this fake just for TV" Hmmm. Then I search this audition . And yes he absolutely did. Lol. I love this guy so much. He is so funny and a Ray of Sunshine . I am a Caterer and I admired guy passion for the World of Food and Flavors. His face lights up watching others cook. My dream is to accompany him one day on his Dream Job Diners Driving and Dive. Just Kidding I will keep dreaming. But the more important job I admire Guy with is the great father he is to his sons . He is one of the best family man I have ever seen , his relationship with his parents is one to admire. I cried like a baby at his sister who passed memorial tribute on TV, it was so beautiful . I love this guy he relates to every race on earth , his personality is a mixture of black and white a lot of charm and charisma. Guy my darling keep being the naturally wonderful person you were born to be. And continue to entertain us and stay as kind and humble as you are .HUUUUGE FAN and ADMIRER. 😍😊😍😊😍😊
I never knew until watching reruns of Food Network Star (season 4) that Guy was season 2 winner. I just assumed he was always on The Food Network...LOL. I can see by this audition why we won. Hopefully I can find his season and watch how.
There was absolutely ZERO chance he would not be the winner....almost every one of the main people at Food Network over the years has come out and said that from the very beginning, they all knew he would win because he was absolutely unique. Still one of the most original people to come out of that competition series to this day.

Everything you say is 150% true… This gentleman had star quality from the very beginning and it was very easy to spot
I can't help but hear the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives background music in my head when he's talking 😂
I remember this. First time I ever voted on a reality show and it was for Guy. I knew by episode 2. He would be the winner.
Personality from the start!
And thus a legend was discovered.
So this was his first step toward Flavortown
He was still living in a flavor tent down by the river at this point.
And never left
@@lunch7213 Loser envy is the root of much evil.
He's a natural.
I agree--- the vulgarity is only skin deep (or hair or clunky jewelry) he really has soul but he shouldn't shop at a bowling pro shop
This guy has not aged WTAF❤️❤️❤️. His style hasn’t changed from the audition tape to DDD. He is truly authentic

Hook line and sinker. No wonder he got it. Right on, Guy.
The birth of a legend
Love him or hate him .. the guy's (pun intended) a genius ..

@@a.k.4085 that's neat!
This guy was born for TV
Wow you’ve come a long long long Way . . .Smoke’n!! 💥 YOU ~ ROCK ! ! 🤛
And that my friends is how you sell it...Love it!! Love ya, Guy!!
He looks like Colin Farrell after a 3 week pastry bender.
This is why I read RUclips comments. LOL
YES
A natural born food star.🔥
Nailed it! He is such an icon of you ask me. Triple D never gets old too. 💪💪

You're hired!
🤙 Guy’s our guy
Josh from Mythical Kitchen told an amazing story about how kind GF is. Always stuck with me
I don’t know who this Guy is but I’d hire him in a heartbeat 👍🏽
Dude! I love you! So cool to see this because I love watching your shows! :) God bless you!!
"My name is Giovanni Giorgio, but everybody calls me Giorgio"
Killed it
Whatever he was selling, I bought a lot of it....
Why did this also remind me of a wrestling promo?
Maybe that what he was aiming for. Maybe wrestling promos are the secret to Hollywood. Get good at promos and move up the ladder.

Ladies and gentlemen, the inventor of "Donkey Sauce."
I seemed to notice that he doesn't refer to himself as a chef but a restauranteur. I twitch whenever others say he's a chef.
He's a chef
He's both
ExplosivesMaster tell me where he got his culinary training.
Will Conway Jr in vegas
Will Conway Jr yup, unlike others, he never claims to be a chef.
Peolpe: omg ancient Rome was bla bla bla
Me: guy fieri on next food network star
Replace 'as American as apple pie' with 'as American as Guy Fieri' because that's the only way to describe putting fries in a sushi roll
Homer: "Mmmmm....pickled herring mooooouse..."
How good of a line cook would he have been?
Every show he has been on I've seen smh
I wound up voting 4 the other guy. I don't member his name although I thought he was a bit more entertaining.
Wow
He should sell mufflers
Just jingle
Doesn't he own food network lol
Why is he so nervous and greasy lmaoo
It was his Audition so you see why he was nervous.
Projecting, projecting...He is probably less nervous than yourself when in a comatose state.

So tired of his so called cooking and he is so full of himself😊
