Stock on premium 4.7 4.8 from 0 to 60 the tricky traction control seems to be always a problem you can remove it check the forms some Tau V8 engine are produce more power depending on what year I've heard that some of the Korean engineers had a little fun with some of the motors they were told to tell us 429 horsepower stock you take the governor off and the car could hit 185 to 195 miles per hour top speed depending on gas and altitude such a sleeper especially costing around 50 Grand
Ward the newer generation 5.0 is plagued by the same interest issues performance wise but there are a couple of guys who are at least making appearance products for it...

The car runs absolutely flawless as a matter of fact I have several cars so I havent driven her for a minute. After sitting for 3 months straight she fired up and I fell in love with her all over again. The tune definitely makes the difference. I'm just not sure BTR still offers this ECM/TCM tune any longer.
@@Rdmz805 yes the car is better in every way...I’m not sure if that’s the only source for tunes but originally this tune required new ECMs and TCMs which were sent directly from Korea. I believe that BTR is now doing it themselves...check them out on FB they have a page and there are discussion groups. You will not be disappointed especially the TCM tune.
Its definitely an upgrade, but if you are really into modding and tuning, then just know the market for these cars are small. I Went from a 2009 4.6 to a 2015 5.0, and it took 3 years of owning my 4.6 until I starting seeing mods actually being developed for those cars at reasonable prices, currently waiting to see more put out for the 2015-2016 model years. If you do feel the itch though, I suggest having a secondary car that has a lot of aftermarket support, so you can build and tune to your hearts content.
@@jose080416 I used the first BTR tune so my ECUs were shipped directly from Korea...I'm not sure how it works now...I've had the car for a while and I was one of the first with the TCU/ECU setup...
Vincent Price is this something i would have to come to in person or is it something i can do on my own. I just need to work out logistics with everything if i need to come in person with the car. Right now the car is stock other then k&N filter and upgraded brakes but im always looking for more power options. Thanks for the quick reply as well.

@@smallblockbug if you haven't found anything 10fintec took over for btr tunes. they sell the equal tunes but you need to send in your ecu and tcu for the greatest results. a guy sent his ecu and tcu and he got charged 1900. they're in Canada so shipping could be harder. i would recommend doing porting, custom modifications and let them know about it so your tune can have the greatest results. there is a 50 shot of nitrous you can throw at the car if you don't want to tune it but the these motors are dangerous so I wouldn't do that only on the 4.6 tau. the transmission valvebody can be upgraded and maybe transmission could be bulletproofed? the 8 speed I'm not too sure about. as much info I know.
Robert you can get second cat deletes. They are the same ones that go on the 3.8L. Removing these makes a noticeable difference in throttle response and the exhaust sounds better. At least get a drop in K&N filter. Remove the resonator right before the throttle body. Can use 1.5” PVC with cap but you will need to file/sand down the end that goes into the stock intake as it is a little too thick. Paint it black. Also, in the air box there is a foam filter in the top cover. Remove that and then at the bottom there is a trap door style flapper that you can remove by taking out one screw. A guy on eBay has Magnaflow exhaust shipped for $754. Should be getting mine in next week.
The TCU and ECU are $680 for the TCU and $950 for the ECU from BTR racing but I ended up with some optional tunes. They give you new computers so its basically plug and play and when you go to the dealer you just swap them back out

That's up 26 hp from baseline. But the upgrades cost 3000.00. Hyundai pushed this engine hard from the factory. not much meat left on the bone
True...the high cost is due to the fact that this generation is not in production any longer and the aftermarket for it never really caught on
