Wow! What a beautiful piece of wood. I would love to find some pieces like that, since I have started to get into more in depth woodworking. I think you said you got it on auction. If this was a website auction, would it be proper to ask you where you got wood. I have enjoyed your website so much, and my wife has gotten to where she is starting to watch you a lot. She love the boxes you make. I guess you know what that means for me!😂
@WoodworkingwithSkyler thanks for sharing that gorgeous wood! I have to say several ideas came to mind. The first being use them in a top with the straight lines cleaned up a bit with a dark green and blue swirls of epoxy for a large hope chest or table top. But I think you could match book them into a family crest or shield...use red/orange shimmering epoxy in the voids to look like fire! I just discovered this guys channel on making keepsake boxes. I think you would really enjoy it! I literally had to stop, rewind and right down what he said! ruclips.net/video/jUFD7PKk65A/видео.htmlsi=uvkLUlUdoNNObbxH

That would make a beautiful epoxy table, or one of your nice boxes

now the redwood will turn all grey. . yeah, you can sand it off, but Mineral Spirits would be better to see the grain and not weather the wood.
