I love all trucking songs. One of my favorite here. Right now I’m fighting to get my license back so hopefully I can join you guys soon. Stay safe my friends all I’ve ever wanted to do my whole life is have my own truck and see the country. Working on making my dream a reality now
This song reminds me of my Ol' 379 Pete 425 KityKat 13spd Eaten Fuller She was a Rooster Cruiser pass everything but a fuel stop 😛😄😄... Been popped 53mph over speed limit in her 🤪🤣🤣🤣.. She was Black n Chrome 3 fuel tanks all buffed out you could shave by them. I'm retired now but I miss the road Drove Truck for 25yrs everything paid off children grown and finally made the wife my Ex-Wife and I'm going to see my country now in my F-250 4x4 and I still ROLL COAL 😁... 👍👍👍😎🍻✌️👋
My first year of truck driving has bin ruff but it’s songs like these that keep me going everyday since I was a kid all I dreamed of was being a truck driver now I’m living my dream
It's a great song I was a long distance driver for 10 year I hot in a bad spot 9 years ago I ended up in a wheel chair and I'm really missing thaw truck and the open road I'm working on getting into it again I'll just keep trying and one day I'll be flat to the mat again u tell that day I just listen away to these songs it keeps me going as I'm just mad for tar again
Good for you, Joe! Truck driving is one of the most honest ways to make a living. My brother passed away at age 66 on January 20, 2023 while delivering a load to Colorado. He was a trucker for 35 years, and he wasn't happy unless he was "behind the wheel".
@@mac11daddy6 Why do you say this? My brother was an O/O for 25 years and loved it. He liked the Freedom that came from being an O/O. I reckon it ain't for everybody.
I've grown up around the trucking industry all my life. I'm in the Illinois Army National Guard now, and still have a passion for the trucking industry. My dads a trucker, I'm a trucker for the National Guard. If you were born around the trucking industry, that deffinately means you got truckers blood, also meaning that you just love the smell of diesel fuel in the morning haha.
Reminds us of the good ole days when 4500 miles a week was slacking Nowadays if you do that you’ll get into big trouble with the elogs You can’t do it like you used to
I grew up riding in then driving an old cabover Cornbinder(IH in case you don't know that term) with a lil ole 600 Cummins and a 15 speed. That old truck spanked a lot of "large car" ass back in the day. My dad always told them it had a 318 with bored out injectors when the wanted to know what it had in it.
I haven't heard someone call them a Cornbinder since my Dad passed, a good friend hauled chemicals and owed a conventional Cornbinder in the early eighties.
I feel you. My dad brought home his first rig when I was about 10 and i was hooked. 10 years I spent driving and got out for 7 and now I'm back at it. There's a love of it you cant get it out of the blood.
Ya Jake. I drove a cabover Pete years ago. So I guess I've drove a Pete too and came back to Freighters. I like them both but the Petes sure are pretty...
You do realize 90% of the people out there don't have a clue what the Monfort lane is, or why it's called that. Any more than they'd know what a ''circus wagon" was. Think what these new kids have lost with their automatic transmissions, and electronic toys. Such a shame.😑
@The Bois They are aren't they? I fell in love with them 10-15 years ago for some reason they're popular in Upstate NY. I haven't been on the road in a long time now so the service record I dont know about but the road rigs I saw up there looked good.
I haven't driven a bunch of Petes either. Infact I only drove a 70's cabover when I started driving. I like the Pete Conventionals but never worked in one. I guess they are kind of narrow but it feels okay to me.
I can count the successful Peterbilts on road train service on one hand. Mack, Kenworth, Western Star, Freightliner and Volvo control the roads here. Quality never goes out of style, with Macks and Kenworths from as far back as the early 60s still plying their trade successfully on the roads and outback tracks around here. There are still some companies that have old Mack B61s on the books. The R-model is still everywhere too.
Thank you for your support on behalf of me all of us truckers appreciate your support for us all you people is what makes us proud on what we do and being away from home like we are it means alot
Petes are really pretty but I've mostly driven Freighters. I've gotten used to being able to flip her around on a tight street and take her in and out of a lot where a long framed truck shouldn't fit. I still think Petes are the prettiest :)
I can't drive anymore but damn do I miss my flap weights. I ordered them custom from chrome shop mafia and had them read from left to right black& blue. I drove for WERNER and drove an all black 09 Ken 660 and pulled the blue trailers. I had brand new WERNER flaps on the tractor and put the weights on them and I had a PM done in a terminal and when she came out she was missing her weights. I was pissed beyond belief. I lost my license to a medical a few years ago and hope the sorry bastard that took them knows what's coming. I won't judge but when the good Lord calls their name that will be remembered.
@Simplicimus1945 I hear you. I am one of those who wishes I drove a Pete. I got to drive a Pete a little bit when I started but all I have ever driven since then is Freighters. I still wish I drove a Pete...
I'm not a big fan of smogging diesels. Now the hippies want to smog construction equipment. As a safety concern imagine this scenario. An on-site crawler crane is doing an 80 ton lift ( I'm being generous to leave out super lifts). But imagine an EGT (exhaust gas temperature) sensor going out half way through the lift. The computer will throw a red light code and shut the engine down. You would have to pray the mechanic gets there quick and finds the problem fast, and hope the wind doesn't pick up. There's a reason why construction equipment still uses mechanical diesels. They can stand up to the extreme conditions of a jobsite.
great video great song anyone don't like this must not be a trucker some guys just don't like nothin' i think it's just fine thanks let's see some more
Subarban Cowboy not just trucking the have ruined everything, every time I try to grow some pot or fire up a meth lab damn cops come running looking for trouble
I miss my 99 Pete long nose it was baby powder white with black fenders and custom mat black 10" straight pipes it was 320" with a 70" sleeper with close to 200 lights and always hooked up to a spreadable RGN
Pete and KW both come under the Paccar Company. They have been for quite a while. I feel like the Pete is kind of the Ford and KW is a Lincoln. I like Lincolns but I prefer a Ford.
I thought Australia ran ground trains....big time longer than we ever thought of being useable in US. I would really like to come and drive those road monsters, I think it would be something great to do. I always wanted to engineer a train. It seems that might be really close.
Anybody that call somebody a freaking super trucker because of chicken light's, boo hoo. Got pride in my ride. And if i pass your governed truck ain't my fault, i got a no nuttered truck. No crap on the diesel 1999 W900L with a manual bosch injection pump, 4 th truck bought and my favorite. To quote Stevie Ray Vaughn she's my pride and joy.
i drive a good ole KW and yea petes and KW's are both owned by paccar we all know KW is well known for triple digit trucks......but like masmith1960 said petes are like ford and kw is like lincoln.....both are nice as hell tho
Chicken lights look good, but they allowed us to park on muddy lots with New York potholes and dark nights. However, if you are a chicken hauler, there's only 1 light that counts- on your reefer.
Rookie lights would be a better term. Back in the 70s & 80s when I lived on the road, I kept a pair of sunglasses handy when I passed those guys; and I always passed em. The constant glare slowed em down. lol

John Deere and Peterbilt together!!! Awesome video!
