The 70s were wild. Not only did they make a movie about Convoys, there was a hit song. Weed and coke and PBR. Bell bottoms, platform shoes and free love. Actors that looked like real humans, real boobs and real food.
indeed. The song is about civil disobedience (without burning down buildings or attacking people, BTW) and it inspired the 1978 movie, "Convoy", with Kris Kristofferson and Ali McGraw, which was also about freedom from government overreach. CB radio was at its height of popularity in 1978.
A song about a cop who was after truckers because they were truckers. Nothing about vaccines which protect us all. Also notice the movie had African Americans who were against oppression by the police as well. The truckers protesting today are tyrants because they are costing people jobs and money and impeding progress.

I come from a family of Truck Drivers my Great Grandfather, my Grandfather, my dad, and my brother. They all love and loved this song R.I.P. my Great Grandfather, and my Grandfather!.
My dad was a trucker, I was born in 76. I used to love this song when I was a kid. I just felt as though it was the coolest thing. This song was made in 75. Who here is a Canadian and thought of this toon due to our situation we are currently living in Jan 2022?....Multiple convoys from all over Canada and USA heading to the countries capital to protest the mandates. And the truckers said they are not leaving until the mandates are lifted. It is currently the world's largest convoy in human history, by a long shot.
Canadian here ! I went to a huge Freedom Convoy rally at the Vaughn Mills mall on the outskirts of Toronto just today (Jan.27) BIG, beautiful crowd of happy, upbeat ,peaceful Canadian patriots out there to support our truckers, and to take our rights back that our governments had NO right to take in the first place !! ! Godspeed to us all - and FJT !!!
R.i.P. Uncle Dave, here I am driving into the Veterans Cemetary, ready for your funeral and this song comes on. You were a great man, hard working trucker and thanks for making me your lumper on those trips during my high school summers.
I love it! But part of what they were fighting for was to be "logged and timed" actually very important in today's world..... means they can't drive endlessly without resting for X amount of hours per working hours
Rockstar Games did a good thing buying a license for this amazing song for the game. American Country music is one of my favorite music genre, and old movies with country music are even better. Love this song, movie is algo pretty good. Being a truck driver must be rough and hard, although enjoyable. God bless the truckers of the world.
Respect to all our truckers working hard out there to give everything we need in life to survive. Ty keep up your good work & taking care of us. From Canada.

That's very insightful and intuitive of you. 1. I never would have guessed that we would all need to be saved from such tyranny because I never thought it could exist here (how wrong was I on that?) and 2. I never, ever in my wildest dreams would have thought that our world would be saved by truckers. Godbless our truckers! I am so grateful for them!

Darn right. My Grandpa Ken "King" Cole drove rig for Hutton Transport,Labatts & Domtar/Norampac in total for over 65yrs. At one time he was the 2nd oldest trucker in Canada & not "ONE ACCIDENT" 😃
I was an 88 mike for the us army that's a truck driver and we convoyed all the way to Seattle Washington and just looking at rigs of every make model and size gave me tears in my eyes i love trucks they should block the highway on 95 for miles and have a good old fashioned convoy and let them truckers roll.
Rest in peace Kris, Convoy is the reason I still drive articulated trucks today, and used CB radios through the 80’s. I could watch that film with the sound off and still know every word, absolutely iconic. 10-10 Rubber Duck, Thank You for the memories.
I have had uncles and cousins that drove trucks, my brother, and my best friend are also truck drivers. MAD respect for them and the job they do, not just now, but EVERY day!
I thought I was the only one who keeps hearing this song over and over! God bless all Canadians and God bless us Americans! We are AmeriCanadians!!! STAND STRONG and FIGHT FOR FREEDOM! For us. For our children. For their children.
AmeriCanadians is a good way to redefine North America. Oh, when convoys were legal. My dad was a truck driver. We used to slide in among the convoys going east when we were on vacation. They saw his company tags in the windows of the motorhome. It was great!
We lived in an RV on the road for a year. Dad was Grey Dog and loved his CB. It was awesome.
Wow, wait. Is convoys now illegal?
How do you even illegalise a line of vehicles moving in the same direction...
That's some impossible legislation right there.
@@11Survivor one truck crashing/stopping suddenly and every driver behind gets pancaked, causing mass casualties, millions of dollars of damage to goods, and a massive mess on the highway. The 70s were wild. Not only did they make a movie about Convoys, there was a hit song. Weed and coke and PBR. Bell bottoms, platform shoes and free love. Actors that looked like real humans, real boobs and real food.
Also fully automatic rifles in stores.
Да, времена были интересные.
You failed to mention the slow motion fight scenes! Lool
Times were good.
And let's not forget the free clinics for all that free love!
This has always been a song about freedom against tyranny. Keep on truckin'!
@@hiphopunike14 The 1975 song is simple civil disobedience: "I says, "Pig Pen, this here's the Rubber Duck, we just ain't a-gonna pay no toll", So we crashed the gate doing ninety-eight, I says "Let them truckers roll, 10-4" much like today. And please drop the race-baiting.
