Yooo Belisr here~ Based on your tips I've started improving a lot in my practice. I'm not Gold yet but I will be soon. Thank you so much for the help and the gift card and hopefully in the future I can submit a normal VOD where I blast the enemies.
i used to be gold 2, but after watching hooj ive gotten an engineering degree, bought a house, founded a company, own a 3rd world country, and am even silver 1! thank you hooj
So happy he’s started to do these low elo reviews. I’ve been unsure as to how to best go about my practice regime and seeing the banana man break down someone else’s is so helpful.
Ever since I started watching Woohoojin I've felt my gameplay improve to an incredible level. Just last season I was Plat 3, but now I can finally and proudly say I'm Gold 1!
Hooj is by far the best free coach as well as the most entertaining and engaging coaching. Quality information filtered through the confusing aspects of the game. As always Well done Hooj! Another great vod review
Man I'm so glad to see a guardian main on here. I *love* that gun, it's just so fun when you do well with it. Plus the penetration is genuinely amazing sometimes. You can get some goofy ass kills on people who hide behind things that vandals can't shoot through. The one issue I've found (other than how hard it screws you in close range fights), is that when I *do* use a phantom or a vandal, I've gotten killed more than once by reflexively shooting at high pen cover, and getting thrown off when it doesn't work.
I've started both the aim train as well as your get to gold warmups, and the progress I've made is insane! Up 2 ranks in 2 days. tysm for all your knowledge
I’ve been doing your 30 minute training but i make it a bit longer, and i’ve seen a lot improvement in my aim (im also practising my mechanics in range ofc) im planning on making a vod once i get a better laptop 👍
when he said, " what was riot thinking putting a literal blaster in the weapon shop".......i thought it would be a starwars moment our hero misses everything........
Finally getting to a comfortable point where I feel like I'm steadily climbing on my own terms, despite the horrible games that can happen in bronze/silver. Just hit silver today and the games are getting so much easier because more often my team is doing their job, but because of you and your coaching videos, I feel like I don't need to rely on my team to carry me in this silver-gold mmr I'm starting to play in. I hope one day I can find a way to catch one of your vod review coaching, because I really want to hit a respectable rank so I can make more Valorant content. I feel like for silver and bronze players it's a little difficult to get content popping, and I feel like if I was ascendant or something it'd be a lot different.
21:06 ........ Dude, I was using that as my excuse for not going through the boring drills. Like, yeah, but Woohoojin doesn't get that some people have ADHD.... Guess I'm gonna have to actually do them now...
On one hand, I love everything woohoojin tries to teach. On the other hand, as a low gold peak so far, i don't feel like i could ever get a vod review on here and i feel so dumb every time i watch a video like this.
im a diamond player and i started watching hooj vods for about 6-9 months and went from g3 to diamond 3 in that time frame using his practice rountines and map guides. i highly recommend you watch most of his stuff as any rank is educational and map guides are super useful!
I feel like one day, you should go to one of these highly instructional videos screen shot the watch time graph, and whenever someone asks a question you answered, you just pull up that screenshot with the clip XDD
even though i havent gotten a vod review from hooj bc im a stinky reyna main, i can say his videos have helped me climb out the gutters and gain over 700rr this act alone
As a developer who works in software development i agree its much easier to get in the flow i do it even without energy drinks. I totally forget to eat sometimes hahahaha
Thanks for reviewing a lower ranked player. It's motivation for me to be keep working at those mechanics and keep taking gunfights. I've reached GM in Overwatch, but am Iron in Valorant right now. The movement is just so different. 😅
Hooj absolutely has the best public content. I've watched Jollz, ezreal's voice actor's channel, Dopai (hes the homie fr tho) and another guy who's name escapes me, but I noticed a much larger increase in my mechs and game knowledge as I started watching Hooj. As an ex bronze brat and now a silver scrub, LISTEN TO HOOJ.
I feel like playing in flow state makes for less fun games because you are thinking less deliberately. At least I have more fun when I am conscious of my decisions and I know my last thought before making a wrong play or winning a 1v3. If woohoojin has taught me anything, it’s to be deliberate about the actions I take and to think objectively about what I could have done better.
wasnt expecting the splashing water thing i thought i was the only one to do it, i used to do it before tournament games in OW and i seemed to perform better
i took a break from valorant but forgot how much i love the guardian. i think it really helps me not rush my shots too cause with the semi-auto nature means you gotta hit that first shot
Heyo Woohoojin. Love your content and teaching style. I saved money for my dumb silver teammates today by BLASTING after watching this. Question: you've mentioned a few times that practice sessions =/ warmups. Not sure I've seen this covered before and wondering if you have a good example of warming up or if this is covered somewhere? I find sometimes I will perform better after a longer warmup but realize this likely just requires more mechanics practice. Much love from Canada!❤
I found the strategy in silver of just full-confidence running it down main on defense having a 70% success rate of 1-3 kills (I would be out of silver if I played this game more)
Was I missing something or was the cypher util largely wasted? Didn't see any trips down in a lot of those rounds, so was that a choice based on a restriction to promote focus on gunfights for this game or an actually advisable playstyle to maintain? I'm a lower ranked cypher and I don't think I've ever bought a sheriff for pistol, let alone swung hookah with it Edit: I understand that focusing on aim is recommended while trying to improve, but then why pick cypher of all agents?
I think hooj focuses on the basics of aim and movement for players below gold. The emphasis on agent util becomes more important as the rank nears diamond and above.
I've been getting back to valorant comp now i placed iron 3 but I got to bronze 1 in 2 games but I don't really feel consistent aim. Although I don't practice everyday cause it's my bad and laptops too. Is there anything else i can do rather than practicing in just valorant to warm up. Rn i usually play Ultrakill, but can you or anyone suggest anything else for practice. Also amazing vids you have woohoojin. Love from India
I'm waiting for the pros to realize how much better guardian is. When watching pro play, 70% of fights are crouch spraying for .5+ seconds. A guardian would end these fights instantly, but no pros use them for whatever reason. Once a single pro team realizes how valuable a guardian is, everybody's gonna start using it, like they did with forcing, frenzy, stinger, etc. Guardian is gonna get deleted from the game by the devs once it becomes meta, so I'm so thankful that no pros have used it yet.
I watched all your videos from beginning to end, didn’t learn a thing because Im bloody stupid, you told me Im stupid in future videos, I got back rewatch and try it practise range as say to myself “wtf? How does work, im too stupid to understand basic language”
Im Gold and I have been in a out of flow state. I know I am in it because I actually went to college for prgramming. The thing with Valorant is I cant just get into it and those times when I am in it, i am literally unstoppable. If i can get into it, I know I can rank up to diamond even Asc. I just have a hard time focusing in on the game. Its either im locked in and hit every shot or I miss 5x on a person who is not even looking at me
hi i have a question. when practicing in deathmatch at low level is it more beneficial to be super focused on gunfight hygiene or crosshair placement. i know both would be best but its really hard to keep both in mind at the same time. If people have thoughts i would love the help. also open to this being the wrong question :)
gunfight hygiene imo. Crosshair placement can passively develop over time as you play more games, but bad hygiene remains bad hygiene unless actively acted upon
wohoojin i wanna know i have decent stats and i play7 pretty well but i cant rank up more than silver 1 i have 24.1% headhot rate and 170 dmg per round and a 43 percent win rate how do i rank up in your opinion
Maybe more discipline in confirming round wins? if your stats are true, you're most likely out-aiming everyone in your lobbies, but you're not playing off of/with your teammates enough to confirm rounds that you've already opened up. OR there's a chance that you tend to flame your teammates too much. You end up tilting your teammates to the point that you lose rounds that should have been won despite winning your own duels. I was like this too, and it was a real issue.
Hi, i was reading all the rules for the vod review and i am concerned about aspect ratio, i play 4:3 1440:1080, if i swap my aspect ratio to 16:9 1920:1080 i cant play propperly, do i have a chance to get a vod review with 4:3 or it is completly impossible? Thanks
Day one of commenting on woohoojin's vids to pressure myself to actually do my practice routine (Bronze 2) edit: holy crap the practice error rate thing is so helpful I was stressing about getting 100% every time

U have to implement it not just watch u dummy
So happy he’s started to do these low elo reviews. I’ve been unsure as to how to best go about my practice regime and seeing the banana man break down someone else’s is so helpful.
he does low elo reviews for students who show proof that they did follow his gold routine and are unable to reach gold
0:14 I like how when he says "We're *BLASTING* them!" And then an operator fires off right away, working as a sound effect. It's just hillarious! 🤣
Ever since I started watching Woohoojin I've felt my gameplay improve to an incredible level. Just last season I was Plat 3, but now I can finally and proudly say I'm Gold 1!

that last chat message was funny as hell. Love the vids banana man!
as a cypher main those trips in the intro hurt me . . .
Thank you hooj for all the advice. I followed your one month to gold routine for 2 months. Took me awhile but I finally reached gold yesterday
I’ve been doing your 30 minute training but i make it a bit longer, and i’ve seen a lot improvement in my aim (im also practising my mechanics in range ofc) im planning on making a vod once i get a better laptop 👍
yuh it really helped
If you can, try getting a pc and not a laptop. They are much better value, if you can afford the monitor and the keyboard.
thank you woohoojin ive finally reached gold

ah yes, the guardian
great at penetrating every surface, thick or thin, wide or narrow
hooj the ADHD bit was gold. exact reason i watch u n still learn
every time you say "BLAST EM!" i instantly think of Ezreal i'm ngl
Short attention span gang here, you're entertaining indeed. Thanks for your help!
I've always been a guardian believer. Now I have a chair and a banana backing me up
Now any time any one uses the guardian I will instantly think of HE GOT BLASTED
I love it how you get so excited for all ur students even if they are in plastic elo like me

i got gold with guardian only and its always a pleasure to see the blaster in action
Bananaman has graced me once again with a low elo video
LOL the Deadlock wall falling exactly between the sage wall and normal wall
Don’t even need to acquire a blaster now that I have my daily intake of potassium
I literally just started playing Valorant so all of this is wonderful. Thank you Bananaman. I will keep my potassium intake daily
I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel in bronze :) Thanks banana man!

Dear riot, the guardian is perfectly balanced pls no nerf 🙏
It’s single fire w 12 bullets and costs more than a bulldog. It should never be even looked at for a nerf.

Guardian definitely mega underrated.
Unironically I ranked up to gold using the guardian instead of the vandal.
ok so rn I'm bronze 3 and seeing this makes me realize that there is in fact a difference in skill level to a noticeable degree
Nothing brings me more joy than watching hooj get absolutely hype for the blaster
I watched your movement mastery and gunfight hygiene 4 times fully through!~

crosshair placement + guardian = free rr
I found the strategy in silver of just full-confidence running it down main on defense having a 70% success rate of 1-3 kills (I would be out of silver if I played this game more)
I am using the phantom with viper and break the game 19 kills but some with crouch sparying

I thot only gold players and above could submit vod in his channel?

unfortunately, blaster doesn't work in APAC servers.
guardian is the goat, as validated by my -unrated games- woohoo's vod review
