I wish more people could see this video of the Soviet band playing both anthems.
I wish our world could go back to the spirit of this meeting and get rid of all mutual controversies and hate speech.
From my little corner of the world I most heartily agree.
I got goosebumps everywhere hearing the National Anthem played by the soviets and seeing President Reagan. It's like it was yesterday.

2:49 Soviet Anthem

That Gromyko was sure a survivor, he survived Stalin and Khrushchev!

كاد ان يتسبب في كارثة عام ١٩٨٤
Ronald Reagan a greatly underrated man.
So much respect towards President Reagan. I feel like they truly liked him.
Such respect USSR gave to USA
Missed the 1980's of the Reagan years when our elders were still around teaching us morals and values, nowadays it's chaos..
Notice when Soviet anthem is played umbrella is immediately placed over Reagans head? Coincidence?
The US Anthem was playing so the person carrying the umbrella couldn't approach Reagan. He had to wait until it stopped playing before approaching him as a sign of respect.
سيدي الرئيس
Nope I think your mistaking Slobodan for Eduard Shevardnadze, Soviet Foreign Minister
Reagan: "Well it was very nice being here. Goodbye now. Oh and by the way, I have a hunch that next year will be a very exciting year!"
