If you haven't been to His library it's a bucket list item for sure. You get to walk and stand on board Air Force One just where did. Goes through your bones..
I've been going for that least 12 yrs. Every 6 months or so, they bring in new exhibits. Right now it's Pompei.. www.reaganfoundation.org/library-museum/special-exhibits/pompeii/ The place never gets old. You wrap up the tour, (one could spend an entire day and still not take all of it in) with his Tomb. It's pretty heavy stuff..
I really enjoy these moments of President Reagan in ordinary casual conversation. I'm very happy there are so many of these films. Thanks for sharing and please keep posting.
A M I agree - While going through the "1980's" I knew it was a good decade BUT now in hindsight it was a special decade of Freedom peace and prosperity ! Ronald Reagen with class dignity respect wrapped in humor, led The USA across the globe and the whole world benefited from Reagen unapologetic American exceptionalism - " Reagen was obsessed with FREEDOM For All and recognized that Freedom came from The Almighty."
Ladies and gentlemen of the world , there will never be another Ronald Reagan. 40th President of the United States of America. Ronald and Nancy was a class act. 🇺🇸
Presidents set the tone. He treated people well and set a standard of behavior, and that's how guests and the press and others around him responded. We saw the opposite end of that in the late 2010s.
Kris B Hi, well I love the previous decades also but I grew up in the 80’s an it was great! I am in Auckland, New Zealand.. it was better back then than today. I remember seeing Ronald Reagan on TV often, in the news. Yes some bad times, but I feel there is more greed in the world today than there was then. AIDS is also on the rise again from what I been reading. Music, oh you so wrong there.. some of the best music we have ever seen came out of the 80’s! I loved the style, fashion, cars of the 1980s also. The movies were better agree there! Today in many ways is worse, world is a mess.. an I am not referring to Trump, he has been given an unfair time.. but that is my opinion :)
@@Nikohere I just feel he gave many American's a feeling, of being proud to be an American more than anything, and America really was on top of the world! :)
But it was real conversation. And never a mistake to keep connected to honorable & noble people, living or not. The Reagan diaries should be mandatory reading for everyone running for any elected office, local, state, or federal. Wish he was still here with us today, as he was then. And while I'm saddened for his Alzheimer's, I am glad that it kept him from knowing about 9/11... Because that would have killed him, just as WW2 finally took it's toll on Franklin Delano Roosevelt
i find all of this footage so fascinating. kudos to the reagan library for sharing all this footage with us, i believe only presidential library to do it, its truly fascinating to watch, i keep coming back for more.
Ever since I was a kid he was my idol. It was after he got shot. I still can't explain it. Didn't really pay attention to who was President and so forth. I remember coming home from school and hearing he got shot. I read later how he handled it, the jokes he made. Then I don't know, its like a light came on. I had to learn every thing about him. Started watching the news just to see him. Got up in the middle of the night just to watch one of his old movies i knew was going to be showing. Hell I became a walking encyclopedia on the man. you could ask me anything on him. Not to mention and I know this will sound crazy my mother restricted me from him because of my grades. Took my pics I collected, couldn't watch anything with him, it was crazy. Nobody has ever affected me like that man, wish I could have met him.
@@DISTURBEDMOMGAMER i know that feeling.. im from australia and when i found out about him, i had to keep watching all his speeches and so forth.. rock on ronald reagan! :D love from australia
It was a tragedy that he was shot. But the shooting wasn't politically motivated. John Hinckley was horny for actress Jodie Foster and wanted to impress her.
I enlisted with USAF in October 1981 to start Basic in late January of 1982. I can recall so clearly the joy I felt that whilst in uniform he would be my Commander in Chief.
Jon Elson that’s a ridiculous statement. First class is not quieter, it’s the same plane. As for the reasons for the noise it’s an old B707 I believe, it was the first jetliner so it’s bound to be very loud onboard. No such planes are flying now.
Jon Elson and I’m just commenting that it’s a very old plane hence the sound, plus the class of travel does not result in reduced sound. Keep your head on.
Yes, the Boeing 707 was loud. People pay fortunes for vintage versions of these now...case in poimt, John Travolta who spent many millions on his restored version. Who values his more than his corporate elite Gulfstream (and is qualified to fly both as well as the 747).
The Reagan’s are one of my favorites when it comes to President and First Lady. I love to watch and read about how hard he worked around their ranch and how he tended to the horses and saddled them all the time.
0:58, The first President I remember in my lifetime. President Reagan was a good, decent, man and patriot. Regardless of how you feel about his political views. Same with our current President Joe Biden. He too is a good, decent, man and patriot who supports our democracy.

@X XSorry but you must be conflating Lincoln with JFK. Whatever part of the US or world you're from, and whether you agree with his policies or not, you have to stand in awe at the genius of Lincoln. No other president even comes close.
Ricky Spanish I don't think that's a soup stain on Reagan shirt. Instead, it's the Black "RR" Monogram he had on all of his shirts. Including in the assassination attempt, when he was shot in 1981. Much documented when they cut his shirt and all of his clothes away from him on that HORRIBLE day!!! Thank the Good Lord we got to keep him for so many more years!!! President Trump wears a monogram "45" on his right cuff. For President 45.
I know this was the 80s but I expected the noise to be better on Air Force One. Also, I kinda feel sorry for them, they can’t even eat together without being filmed, that has to be annoying lol
It is a VC-137C, designation SAM 26000, the official Air Force One. Derivative of a Boeing 707, configured to the requirements of the President. The engines are four TF33 turbofan engines, military version of the P&W JT3D turbofan.

Дебил, а не харизматичный. Но я очень рад, что у США был такой президент. Надеюсь, что Байден будет таким же. И наконец то похоронит вашу страну.
