2 thinx to consider when bracketing: 1. you want to use a tripod primarily to avoid geometrical differences between images. Not only your hand movement, but to make thinx worse, the lens geometry and the distortion of perspective are also against you: a slight change of position changes the angles of lines of objex in your image, so merging them into one is far beyond just a small offset move. 2. You want to shoot in aperture priority mode because different apertures change the characteristics of the lens, making certain areas sharper or softer, creating chromatic aberrations, vignetting, and so on. But you want to have the bracketed images geometrically as close as possible.
i swear every time i google ANY question i have about fuji, you pop up! such an amazing heap of well made, easy to follow knowledge. Thanks so much, you continue to save the asses of the entire fuji community hahahah
I recently purchased a used X-T2 and found your channel while looking for Fuji-related help videos. Your channel is one of the best, if not the best. Thanks!
I've been a big fan of this channel and just realized I never took the time to say proper thank you. One of the most informative, structured and value-adding channels out there. Very big thank you from Croatia. Looking forward to every new "episode". Z.
OMG! I've had the camera for a while and ever wondered what BKT is, I recently discovered your channel and I'm so proud and thankful of you because there's almost none channels or so many clear tutorials for fujifilm cameras, thank you so much for the information, have a nice day 🙌
So, I'm delving deeper into my X-S10 settings, AE BKT being one that I've not used often. After multiple searches and still having questions, I thought "what would Chris say about this?" Well, no surprise, you've covered it in detail! After watching this video the clouds have parted and I now understand. Thank you for your amazing channel and thorough content. I am so grateful for all your help!
One of my goals for where I want to be when Covid is over - to have something more positive to say for the past year than just "I survived," as serious as that is - is I want to know my camera more thoroughly, and videos like this are what I need. I learned a lot this morning, just as I'm packing my camera for a road trip for work. So now I have some cool experiments to try, which will make me more expert on my camera. Thanks as always for more great content. - Dave
The amount of value I am get from your channel is humongous. Thanks for making extra extra value mile in every video Sir! I practice photography for 6 years. still I have so much to learn from you!
I always find your tutorials be very well thought through, presented and with no element skipped over or missing. You give the solutions and the variables. Excellent stuff!
Wow! These help me saves a lot of time editing and stuff on my portrait photography! Another one of those top video brought to you by pal2tech! Seriously you’re doing fujifilm a lot of favors with these awesome tutorials!!!
@@pal2tech you're welcome I won't post that comment on each of your video. First because i'm lazy, second arguing more will overhelm my capacities with english. Keep on the good work
These videos are so helpful. I'm still learning but looking at my first shots with my XT4 vs what I'm taking now, there's a vast difference. Nothing pro by any means, but a clear improvement. And I credit your videos for much of that!
I had a trial version of Lightroom when it first came out, but never bought the full version. I never even got a full version of Photoshop, being happy with Photoshop Elements. I think I'll make the leap this year; post processing could be fun, and could add another dimension to my photography.
Great video. I feel silly - I wish I had seen this video earlier. I didn't know how to use bracketing on my X-T3 on a recent trip. I fiddled with a 3-stop graduated neutral density filter in the field and it was hard. Thank you for posting this tutorial.
As was true of last month's HDR mode video, note that there *is no* "HDR" mode on the X-T3 dial - HDR mode is *only* available on X-T4! Would be very useful to mention the distinction in these videos, or in the description!
Your videos are the holy grain of Fuji information! Thank you so much, it help photographers like me know what they are doing haha. Do you have a Instagram or patron page to follow and support!?
Another thought for a future video is to tie the bracketing information to judgements about the amount of dynamic range in a scene and how many stops to bracket. That would be helpful. I find that using ETTR, the Fuji cameras, at least those using the 26mp sensor, will recover at least a stop or two of shadow detail, and ordinarily I don’t need to use HDR to cover the exposure. If scenes have more dynamic range than that, or ,if I’m interested in more detail, then I’ll do HDR. Thanks. The camera settings are very helpful here. Geoff
Great info on the AE bracketing - I always look to you first for the best tips! I noticed that the in-camera HDR takes 3 exposures, whereas you took 5 AE bracket exposures. I wonder if the number of exposures makes a difference to the final image. Do you think the photo taken with HDR feature (3 exposures) vs the AE bracketing HDR merge (5 exposures) might account for the difference in shadows, contrast etc? Just curious!
Awesome awesome thanks for explaining so much, I realize on each video you upload how little I know about every settings :) Thanks for fulfill the GAP always !
Love this! Only thing I would mention is that you don't get her merge in Capture one so it's not an option unless you pay for an external piece of software.
Love this tutorial. I was doing each step on my X-T2 while you are doing it. I will experiment with this. One idea for your video content is maybe you can make some creative tutorials like studio portraits. Keep making these videos. Stay safe sir.
Hi Chris..Very well explained! Now I can try out that feature on my camera and know how it works! Thanks so much! I'm hoping you make a video on the burst modes the difference between low burst and high burst. Just a suggestion. :)
I use AE bracketing when photographing total solar eclipses and end up with hundreds of photographs. I always use the -0+ setting because it makes it easy to find the start of a bracketing sequence. Also, when you scroll through the images as you go through a bracketing sequence it looks like an animation of the sun getting brighter. I have been using a bridge camera for the eclipses, but the plan is to use a Fujifilm for the eclipse in Texas in 2024 because of the better picture quality. After seeing the good reviews, I will probably buy a 70-300mm zoom lens. Unfortunately, that lens doesn't have an IOS off switch and I need the IOS disabled for long exposure shots of the night sky. On looking in the ISO Mode settings of my X-E3, the ISO cannot be switched off even though the manual states that there is an OFF setting. I don't really know what to do but, think that upgrading to the X-S10 camera could be the best way ahead. It seems as shame as I love that little camera.
Great video; you're taking me to the next level each week. I would love to see the capture 1 version. Also has lightroom fixed the 🐛 feature? I’m also guessing one would need a tripod for using exposure bracketing?
Thanks Johnny!!! Yes, you should always shoot with a tripod when doing exposure bracketing. You don't want the camera moving at all between each bracketed exposure. As far as LR fixing the worms, I doubt it, but haven't tested their latest update. My guess is probably not. I'll look into the latest update for C1 as well if they support the HDR merge feature. For awhile I know it wasn't supported on that platform.
Unsurprisingly great as always! 👍🙂 One stupid Question remains: XT3 In the Menue Frame/Step Setting, How can i get to the right side to change the Step Value? Couldnt find a way🤔 thx. Ah, found it! This Value is only changable, when the selector dial is set to BKT. OK.
No student of yours would ever fail an exam. Every tutorial of yours makes my X-T4 worth every cent.
Indeed, I have learned so much on my Fujifilm that I didn't know was possible
This is the best Fujifilm series on RUclips (probably the entire Internet). I can't f/stop watching it!
Man... what would I do without your videos. Thank you.

The deck you went was the same one you used for the intro. It was like watching inception.
Hahah, exactly!!!!!! A dock within a dream.

Thank you so much for your diligence. I was waiting for this video 📸
Really good explanations!!! Simple and direct, thank you :)

Dude, you're the best. I ask a question in the comments for the HDR video, AND YOU DO ANOTHER ON BRACKETING. Far Out.
Glad to help!
