I recently purchased a used X-T2 and found your channel while looking for Fuji-related help videos. Your channel is one of the best, if not the best. Thanks!
i swear every time i google ANY question i have about fuji, you pop up! such an amazing heap of well made, easy to follow knowledge. Thanks so much, you continue to save the asses of the entire fuji community hahahah
2 thinx to consider when bracketing: 1. you want to use a tripod primarily to avoid geometrical differences between images. Not only your hand movement, but to make thinx worse, the lens geometry and the distortion of perspective are also against you: a slight change of position changes the angles of lines of objex in your image, so merging them into one is far beyond just a small offset move. 2. You want to shoot in aperture priority mode because different apertures change the characteristics of the lens, making certain areas sharper or softer, creating chromatic aberrations, vignetting, and so on. But you want to have the bracketed images geometrically as close as possible.
OMG! I've had the camera for a while and ever wondered what BKT is, I recently discovered your channel and I'm so proud and thankful of you because there's almost none channels or so many clear tutorials for fujifilm cameras, thank you so much for the information, have a nice day 🙌
The amount of value I am get from your channel is humongous. Thanks for making extra extra value mile in every video Sir! I practice photography for 6 years. still I have so much to learn from you!
I always find your tutorials be very well thought through, presented and with no element skipped over or missing. You give the solutions and the variables. Excellent stuff!
Wow! These help me saves a lot of time editing and stuff on my portrait photography! Another one of those top video brought to you by pal2tech! Seriously you’re doing fujifilm a lot of favors with these awesome tutorials!!!
@@pal2tech you're welcome I won't post that comment on each of your video. First because i'm lazy, second arguing more will overhelm my capacities with english. Keep on the good work
These videos are so helpful. I'm still learning but looking at my first shots with my XT4 vs what I'm taking now, there's a vast difference. Nothing pro by any means, but a clear improvement. And I credit your videos for much of that!
Your videos are the holy grain of Fuji information! Thank you so much, it help photographers like me know what they are doing haha. Do you have a Instagram or patron page to follow and support!?
As was true of last month's HDR mode video, note that there *is no* "HDR" mode on the X-T3 dial - HDR mode is *only* available on X-T4! Would be very useful to mention the distinction in these videos, or in the description!
Love this! Only thing I would mention is that you don't get her merge in Capture one so it's not an option unless you pay for an external piece of software.
Awesome awesome thanks for explaining so much, I realize on each video you upload how little I know about every settings :) Thanks for fulfill the GAP always !
Another thought for a future video is to tie the bracketing information to judgements about the amount of dynamic range in a scene and how many stops to bracket. That would be helpful. I find that using ETTR, the Fuji cameras, at least those using the 26mp sensor, will recover at least a stop or two of shadow detail, and ordinarily I don’t need to use HDR to cover the exposure. If scenes have more dynamic range than that, or ,if I’m interested in more detail, then I’ll do HDR. Thanks. The camera settings are very helpful here. Geoff
Unsurprisingly great as always! 👍🙂 One stupid Question remains: XT3 In the Menue Frame/Step Setting, How can i get to the right side to change the Step Value? Couldnt find a way🤔 thx. Ah, found it! This Value is only changable, when the selector dial is set to BKT. OK.
Great info on the AE bracketing - I always look to you first for the best tips! I noticed that the in-camera HDR takes 3 exposures, whereas you took 5 AE bracket exposures. I wonder if the number of exposures makes a difference to the final image. Do you think the photo taken with HDR feature (3 exposures) vs the AE bracketing HDR merge (5 exposures) might account for the difference in shadows, contrast etc? Just curious!
Great video; you're taking me to the next level each week. I would love to see the capture 1 version. Also has lightroom fixed the 🐛 feature? I’m also guessing one would need a tripod for using exposure bracketing?
Thanks Johnny!!! Yes, you should always shoot with a tripod when doing exposure bracketing. You don't want the camera moving at all between each bracketed exposure. As far as LR fixing the worms, I doubt it, but haven't tested their latest update. My guess is probably not. I'll look into the latest update for C1 as well if they support the HDR merge feature. For awhile I know it wasn't supported on that platform.
It’s probably not a good idea to use exposure bracketing or HDR setting if your handholding the camera right? Fujifilm n00b right here, that’s I’m loving this channel! What’s the best way to get HDR shots without a tripod?
Hey, love all the content you produce. Absolutely outstanding. I was trying the Bracketing on my xt-5, the yellow line is not at 0?why?. It's 2/3 to the -ve. Could you please shed some light(ha ha) on it. Thanks
Hi, I live in the Scottish Highlands and I'm not new to photography. I've used Nikon for a number of years. Did have the D850 but sold all to reduce weight (familiar theme) so now use the Z7 II which I love. BUT, a friend of mine had a Fujifilm camera which caught my interest and have ordered the X-T5 combined with the 16-80mm - I'm landscape these days. Back Button focus ~ I do prefer the 1st method. Exposure bracketing - I prefer via Photoshop post LRC where I post process 1st image and sync to all then edit in Ps. How do I add "Exposure Bracketing" to 'MY' part of the menu (if you see what I mean ?). Also = how can you set a 2 second delay etc? Ok, to the point > pre learning and I've kind of fallen into your channel regarding Fujifilm and must admit you are drawing me in. Thanks very much. I've just subscribed and Liked. 🏴
Although I have been using X and GFX Fuji cameras for years, I always learn a pearl or two form your videos. Thank you! I was wondering if you have ever done a video on how to use the custom setting in the X or GFX cameras. I tried to figure out if they could be useful, but the manuals are not very helpful. I would love for instance to have a custom setting where I could set the self timer to 2 or 10 seconds and go back to it with one click (or turn of a dial like in the GFX 100s). But so far no luck. HELP!!!!!!
Shooting in diafragma on auto can, I don’t say it will, can cause som strange things on your depth of field when merging. Especially on subjects that are close. Be aware of that. And thanks again!
Yep, you are 100% correct. I should have used a different example other than aperture. In the video, I used a simple demo example at one point of varying the Aperture and keeping the SS and ISO fixed. You really want to vary the SS or ISO instead. Changing aperture can alter the Depth of Field and thus cause issues later on with your bracketing merge in post-production. So instead, either shoot all manual and alter your SS and/or ISO -- or put the camera in fully automatic in which case the aperture would be the LAST adjustment the camera would consider making after it's depleted all options of SS and ISO first.
I recently found a bug on the XT3 for long exposure mode(T mode). I know T mode can do 1min, 2min,4min,8min...but when I used my shutter release cable to do the long exposure time in between like 3min, 5min or 6min, in the camera preview screen it will show 3min20s, 5min20s and 6min40s... don’t know how fujifikm software get those number as it is confusing. I use the camera for casual astrophoto so the time is quite important for me to do the dark frame. I know the camera is only exposed for 3mins because that’s the time the sensor physically exposed. Hope Fujiflim will fix this small bug soon
Thanks for this illuminating tutorial on Exposure bracketing . Nonetheless am not sure what is wrong with my setting, I Followed the tutorial procedure but whatever exposure frames I put like +_ 3, or +_5, my camera always take 10 frames on counting, and 8 pictures finally, this is regardless of either 3 or5 pictures I am expecting . please what can I do to get the required frames expected?
Another wonderful lesson by the best teacher in the whole photo-world. I will try it with my X100V and my Z6, probably the same procedure. Does it make a big difference to merge the shots in LR vs Photoshop?
I was considering HDR feature as a heavy reason to upgrade from my X-T3 to X-T4. Watching this, I assume is not as heavy as I was thinking, am I right?
How do you merge the bracketed RAW photos into a final image in Capture one? Lightroom is straight forward, but I have not figured out how to do that in Capture one. Thanks.
Hi ! Great vidéo thanks :) just, little question if i Want a special aperture (for field of view) and speed (lets Say to fix a an animal or movement) how Can We do? If i fix a minimum shutter speed, will it adjust ISO instead?
Thanks a ton for the videos! I’m patiently waiting for my X-T2 and your tutorials are not only helpful but entertaining. They’re a great way to pass the time while I wait lol. Just a question though, why does the order the shots are taken matter? It’s going to merge the 3 shots either way so why would it make a difference? 6:40
OK great now you got your consecutive exposure bracketed shots, lets say 3...and you got the Capture 21 (C21). Does C21 have any ability to work with the sequence shot and treat them as 1? If not C21 could you point me in the right direction, as not having a post workflow to merge these 3 or 5 images wouldn't be helpful.
Hi Chris, Great videos and thanks for doing them. Is there a way I can save the settings for say Bracketing and also other settings maybe in My Menus? It would be a lot easier to have pre saved settings in just one place. Keep up the great work Thanks
Great video! I wish that Capture One offered this functionally, rather than needing to output to Photomatix or similar; do you find yourself sliding back into using LR often, or have you settled on Capture One for your personal (non-YoutTube video) work?
Hello Pal2Tech community. I recently purchase Fujifilm X-S10 camera. On my Dial Mode there is an SP function..?? Can anyone tell me what does SP stands for and when to use this SP dial mode..??
Hello, I turn to your videos for help but I have not found one for multiple exposures for the xt4. I am not sure if the camera should be set to raw plus jpeg. Also, I’m not sure how to save the combined images. Can you help?
No student of yours would ever fail an exam. Every tutorial of yours makes my X-T4 worth every cent.
Indeed, I have learned so much on my Fujifilm that I didn't know was possible

As Doctor Watson said to Sherlock Holmes, it’s so simple when you explain it.

This has been on my list of things to learn, so this will be fun. Thank you!!!
