It depends on if the content is engaging. If the combat is lacking (i.e. simple auto-attacks) or if combat is a secondary or tertiary part of the game then I would instantly drop it.
Day 1, week 1, month 1, year 1, likely even decade 1. Last game I got addicted to I played for a decade as of this year, so Brighter Shores has come at the perfect time for my next decade addiction.
Curious what the reward space will be for being a detective as it seems it will be as varied as thieving for RS3/OSRS. Mostly coins, but something like helping a fish stall could yield fish, ore stall ore, and the such. A lot of interesting quest tie-ins it could do as well that will probably feel more like detective work than the skill itself.
I'll be there putting a hundred hours in during the first couple weeks. I might not be there day 1, though. I'm so excited for this. RS died for me in 2007. I hope this has the flair that brings me in like RS did as a kid and a few games since have done for a year or so. Only Dofus seems to bring me back over and over; Brighter Shores could be another. We will see. I need a long grind that's casual but has a reason to grind. I've been enjoying Palia lately but it doesn't give a reason to grind levels.
@@lampisfun1139 OSRS was alright for a few months in 2013 and then a few more months in 2020. Its not dead to me, but it's definitely not enjoyable long term.
so tired of seeing people say rs died in 07. I've been playing since 2006 and not once has the combat made me quit this game. OSRS is so far away from what RS2 used to be that it's not even close to being the same thing. RS3 evolving into a more engaging and exciting game is what runescape needed to continue into the future.
@@johnevans3562 I never said the game itself died. I said "for me". And 07 had nothing to do with combat changes. I think RS3 is better than OSRS currently.
Good video man. Unfortunately its pissing me a bit of as I feel most of the news we are getting from Andrew are not really worthy of being mentioned, atleast not in my opinion. Hopefully we can actually get some real gameplay footage soon from Andrew and the brothers.
i dont know why andrew is trying to make a different version of rs3, rs3 is dying, i think he could have made millions making a game like osrs, shitty graphics but well thought out and enjoyable gameplay like in osrs. hell, he could have made Mechscape and probably got away with it, i would have paid cash to play a mechscape game.
He isn’t trying to make a different version of rs3 as much as he isn’t trying to make a different version of osrs. The niche that they fall into which also includes Melvor is just a long term progression based point and click MMO. Aside from that it could literally be anything and because the market is so dry for those types of games it can be successful. Companies are afraid to lean into the niche of RuneScape because there’s so little competition, but that’s exactly why he’s doing it as well.
@@BrighterShoresCentral I think its because of the draw distance and each section being pretty limited. Gives it the feeling of being stuck in a bunch of boxes.
The more i see about this game the less excited i am. There are a lot of questionable design decisions. I'm still going to try it day one but i don't have high hopes anymore. Sigh... i hope I'm wrong.
I expect this game to fail based on art-style alone. Everything feels a bit too smooth and dull. Even a game like the original diablo 2 looks better because of the higher contrast and sharper textures.
@lampisfun1139 graphics don't matter, but the last decade of gaming has been nothing but "omg we need to max out graphics" That doesn't instantly make the game playable and amazing. When I see a game with cutting edge graphics, my first thought is "the company must've put all their effort into animation rather than gameplay" My top games are osrs, minecraft, fortnite, and I play a lot of ps1/ps2 emulators. None of those have stunning 8k graphics. And I'll still play them 1000 times over something that only focuses on graphics. It wasn't even eoc that killed rs for me. It was when they started changing all the graphics. Eoc was just the nail in the coffin on a game I was already starting to really hate because of the graphic changes.
@@JellyfishButItHasAGun i could never really do anything to help but if i was going to do something it would be to consider finding a different art style and find a way to make the game feel bigger
I don’t know what you are expecting. It’s going to be like a sims+ classic RuneScape type game. It’s intended to be free to play without pay to win. It’s probably not your type of game.
Will you be playing Brighter Shores on DAY ONE of release?
Yes

Thanks for the update, looking forward to hearing when we can get a look into combat and beta invites!
No problem! Can't wait.
They should genuinely reward you at launch for all this awesome coverage you've been doing. Thank you!
Appreciate it :) However, I don't expect anything just another excited player like everyone else. Also, I only do this as a hobby at the moment.
What if they do reward him but it's bogus?
Or at least rename a vendor character after him! He’s my go to for info while waiting for the game ❤😊

Has no one told you about old school RuneScape? If it died for you in 2007 that’s exactly why 75% of the player base for it exists right now

Yeah, would be nice to see more meaningful information. Would like more screenshots on the new profession for example.
any1 else think this game looks a lil too much like RS3 in the art direction?
you think?
What are your credentials for hosting BSC? Have you maxed in OSRS, RS3, Melvor?
Fairly close to max on OSRS
Lmao what's the point of this question? Why does he need to be maxed on anything to cover a new game :')
