- A Buddha Bowl is a healthy, balanced one-bowl meal consisting of a carb component such as rice, pearl barley, bulgur, millet or quinoa; a protein, such as meat or tofu; any vegetables, fresh or cooked; and a dressing.
In the video Mr Viirret uses a mixture of quinoa and rice, roasted vegetables, spinach, avocado, tofu, chicken breast, tahini dressing and some garnishes. Other options for the dressing could be Sriracha Mayonnaise, Coriander and Cashew Pesto or Nuoc Cham. Or you can use a pre-made, store bought dressing.
It is nice to use fresh herbs for garnish and sprinkle some nuts and seed for toppings; they will also add some good quality fats in your diet.
You can also meal prep Buddha Bowl to last you for a few days; make an extra component or two and you can make it slightly different every day over 2 - 3 days.
