- Whether you are just getting started with rabbit showmanship or you need a refresher, this tutorial covers the process from start to finish. Many thanks to Grant Sweeter, Lincoln County 4-H alumni, for doing this demonstration!

This is a great video! Thank you! I am a 4-H Alumni and now serve on the committee and needed a good refresher and example. 4-H is more than a hobby, its a life!

Can this be added to RUclips Kids?
Can I still show my rabbit in the fair with a missing dew claw?
Back a week ago, my rabbit had gotten her one of her dew claws stuck on the rug in my room and it ended up coming right off.
There are a few factors in dealing with the missing claw - a SDSU Extension Youth Program Advisor could help you, one would Deanna Gall at 605.387.4205 or there are more listed on the SDSU Extension website: extension.sdstate.edu/
This is a vary useful video
Is a Californian a good breed to show? It’s my first year
Damien, please contact our state 4-H office at sdsu.4h@sdstate.edu with your question.
@@SDSUExtension okay thanks
Yes a Cali is a very good rabbit to show.
Do I have to breed my own rabbit to be part of the rabbit project or can a purchase let's say one lionhead rabbit and then show it?
As far as I know you can buy one and show it. I do 4-H and I have purchased rabbits and showed them.
@@That_Marvel_Nerd thank you
Can adults show animals? Or must it be students in 4-H?
Only 4-H members are eligible to compete in 4-H show events.
Atta boy grant
(by the bones I mean the plate in it)
lmao that rabbit was a champ lol
so you tranced the rabbit and said it was comfortable nice...
@Jeremey Grande it actually is not good for the rabbit. The reason they trance is because the rabbits heartbeat is increasing. It can kill them.
@Jeremey Grande I agree with the below comment. By holding the rabbit with its stomach facing upwards it can potentially cause the rabbit to go into a stage called GI-Stasis which can in fact kill a rabbit.
When you flip over a rabbit the organs push against the spinal chord putting them in a paralysis like state, the rabbit can still move if it feels severely uncomfortable or freaked out, a lot of people think that it's traumatized and that's why it doesn't move but that's not true, the only way this can be dangerous for the rabbit is if it's done for to long, but even then you would have to do it for about 5 to 10 minutes and if the rabbit is healthy than there will be no permanent effects. This is also a necessary maneuver to be able to do a complete health check on you rabbit.
What idiot puts a rabbit on its back. Its going into a trance which can KILL it. It causes their heartbeat to increase which could lead to a heart attack. Please no one do this!!
You are so stupid that is what you are supposed to do
Your the idiot
@@uselessgameing8368 it depends on how long you do it for.. it can kill them if done for a long time but also have to have them on there backs for a moment soemtimes fir check ups for lumps bruises surgery clipping nails ect.
No! you should not grab onto it's ears because it's bad for the bones in it! SSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTTTOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
U trash 🗑 city boy
Bruh you are supost to you don't know anything
He was grabbing the head, putting his fingers in between them. Look closer.
Yeah it's perfectly fine for the rabbit so yeah.
This is so fucked up
What is the mat that you are using and where can I buy one?
