I love stuff like this. Back in the early to mid 1980s I used the old Traveller world building in their books to design my world as logically as I could for consistency. I was running Palladium Fantasy Rpg 1st edition at the time as my game system of choice. After that I moved to GURPS but I kept the world building material I had generated using the Traveller system.
The edition of 2300AD I have has similar planetary maps, and believe you me, I gave some serious thought to cutting them out and mounting them to foam or something, so I could have little icosahedron "globes" for the various worlds the PCs might visit. If I still played Full Thrust (my favorite starship combat miniatures game), I almost certainly would do so.
