    FYI: The taste from Nasi Goreng will be different every city, not just every city, even every restaurant

      Im from Kediri and when I go to Surabaya or other city the Nasi Goreng is kinda more bland or lack of flavor.
      Because in Kediri the Nasi Goreng seller usually use Rajarasa Oil, Fish Oil, and Fish Kecap.

    8:15 the name of the cracker is EMPING made from melinjo or belinjo seeds. Emping has a slightly bitter taste. Emping has various flavors, such as plain, salty, spicy or sweet

    It's Nasi Goreng Kebuli, so that's why you tasted such a briyani flavour within it. It's different with common traditional "Nasi Goreng Kampung." Thank you for your video, it's always enjoyable to see. You have adorable kids. Have a nice and safe trip everywhere.

    just a bit correction for the conversion. the total was IDR 229.000, so then it should be roughly 15 USD because 1 USD equals to IDR 14,800, fluctuating. but overall, awesome and warm review from you all guys! keep up the great work!

    Nasi goreng kebon sirih is more special than another nasi goreng street food. Mostly nasi goreng street food the price is around $1 (12k-14k Rupiah) and the flavour is unique

    Did you know that Nasi Goreng was traditionally a breakfast food so I was told in Indonesia. People would make boiled white rice for the dinner meal and what was left would be fried the next morning with an egg for breakfast.

      Yes, usually we use left over rice in the morning, and it’s more delicious coz the rice texture bit dry and it’s perfect for nasi goreng

      Not all the time. Food stall do use fresh cook rice for nasi goreng since nasi goreng is in their menu. Nasi campur stalls, (stall with a lot of dishes to eat with rice), may use left over rice.

      And I have been known to eat satay for breakfast, and udang. Luckily my stomach doesn’t care what time the day it is. Ini Bule makan tarus waktu lapar, Mas Dwi. Selamat makan!

    Chips is what we called: emping.... Comes from a tiny little fruit called melinjo.... Its only found in this country.....

    When you're stay in indonesia you should try "Martabak Manis Bangka" it is Indonesian pancake that soft and creamy inside but has crispy layer outside the best topping for Martabak is butter, chocolate, and grind peanut or banana cheese and chocolate 😋

    Love your vlogs.. Your family always enjoying anything new. Kids are well behave, appreciating totally new food.
    In jakarta city not much to be seen.. If you want, I can drive you to Bogor or Puncak, to enjoy little bit of nature. About 2 hours from jakarta city. I really hope my 4 children will have chance to learn a lot from your kids.

    That's Emping. Not potato. If u still in Jakarta till nextweek. U can see The dancing fountain water for free in Lapangan Banteng. On Saturday n sunday night. Also u have to try famous noddles with pork in Glodok area. Stay safe. Covid increase in jakarta

    The cracker you eat is called emping, made from melinjo bean. The bean is one of popular crackers especially in Jakarta/betawi. It is smashed, dried then fried, served in many dishes betawi soup or nasi goreng.

      Not just in Jakarta, emping also popular in many places in Indonesia since melinjo is abundance in Indonesia. For example, they make emping at Pidie in Aceh, Limpung n Klaten in Java, also in Sulawesi n many more places.

    Kripik yang granit makan itu namanya emping. Terbuat dari biji melinjo. Kelly bisa makan itu. 😃
    Lain kali kalian bisa bawa alat makan sendiri, misal sendok atau sedotan stanless. Selain untuk memudahkan juga sedikit mengurangi sampah plastik.

    If you guys are still in Jakarta, I highly recommend going to Dufan or Dunia Fantasy. It's the Indonesian version of Disneyland. I'm sure the kids will enjoy going there.

    Wowwww bro. You really gave it a try eh this Nasi Goreng Kambing Kebon Sirih. Yeah you won’t regret. They have a special curry taste. A bit commercial and touristy already, but still worth a taste. Happy that you like it. Hope you also tried the On Street smashed chicken near Grand Indonesia mall. Cannot wait to check on your next food vlog.

    Ask the chef ...tidak pedas or not spicy. Medium spicy if you want pedas sedang. For kids usually we don't put sambal .

      Nope, you couldn't order that way at Nasi Goreng Kebon Sirih. They cook one big bowl of rice at the same time for almost 100 portion of Nasi Goreng.

    Thats Emping (melinjo chips), its the same as the chips that you get when you eat bubur ayam. for me i will eat emping with everything, especially when you eat nasi uduk and bubur ayam

    Yup nasi goreng kambing kebon sirih is delicious but more expensive because they use goat meat with taste like kare and serve with acar (vegetable pickle) and emping (nut crackers). The regular nasi goreng use chicken meat, egg and kerupuk bawang/udang (onion/shrimp crackers) and taste more light....

    In any places selling nasi goreng, you can order for vegetarian version nasi goreng, which is nasi goreng telur (egg) so no ayam (chicken) / kambing (mutton/goat).

    That cracker tasted like potato but not made from tapioca. Its from the melinjo seeds and smashed them, dry it under the sun and fry them. We called it EMPING MELINJO.

    That yellowish small cracker it is called "Emping" it is made of a fruit/Nut called "Melinjo", it smashed, dried and fried to become "Emping". it is one of Indonesian favorite snack other than "Kerupuk"

    If you go to Palembang maybe, you should try pempek. It is famous in Palembang, one of the cities also in Indonesia. There are also in Jakarta but the taste is different

      @@herrybean4609 no that is true. Same as for Ketjap instead of Kecap. That’s the way it was spelled for years. Here we use a lot of words that have the origin from now called Indonesia. And in Indonesia they still use a lot of Dutch words in daily life
