CORRECTION: The HiFiMan HE-R10P at $5500 is a planar-magnetic driver. I got it confused with the HE-R10, which is a $1300 dynamic driver. Thanks to @S J Qideez for the catch. I'll pin this comment so it doesn't get missed.
Thanks for the review. I've owned the Elegia and have had a Stellia on loan. I like the Focal fit & finish and find them comfortable. I'm thinking that now I should try to get a demo listen of the Utopia.
They have changed the cable last year? I just couldn’t stand it, decided for a Cardas cable. Also I highly recommend the Elear pads for more sub bass, and holographic sounding.
Thank you for the review. Given that the Audeze CRBN is US$4500, I'm curious to find out if the Utopia can even come close to that electrostat resolution. 🤔
Mysphere is around $4000 and Audiotechnica L5000 was $4000 and final Audio Sonorous VIII and X are from around $4000 to $5000. Oh and the spirit Torino.
Francais would be french, the language and you brought up a good qqustion. ok Chinese products are usually more expensive in the EU but a product fromn france is a little bit stzrange cause I thought taxes might be the reason for higher prices but in this case the headphones should be more expensive in the US. What about VAT in the US most EU countries are around 19% nowadays?
Hey man I’m just curious how is the detail retrieval on this versus something like the clear? I’m thinking of upgrading and I’ve never used a top-of-the-line headphone before and I’m just wondering what differences I can expect. Thanks for your time dude :-)
On the right signal chain Utopia can be stunningly resolving. I have a friend whom I trust who says he can get Utopia to out-resolve AB-1266. So it's way ahead of Clear, but it won't forgive an underperforming chain.
@@wavetheorysound thank you so much for your reply dude. I’m also really interested in the Stellea. I’ve heard that it’s not really that far behind the utopia and I was really really really impressed with it when I demoed earlier this year.
I got the clear mg,s and I could not get the Utopia out of my head, so I saw Moon audio had new 2020 Utopia's so I pulled the trigger a got one, my o my the sound difference is remarkable, I love my listening sessions now and I also power them with a Mcntosh MHA 200, not cheap but the clear msg are not even close, sorry
Sounds best with a Dana Lazuli Reference cable; especially good with a balanced cable (which opens up the soundstage and creates natural image boundaries). Nice review. Thanks.

Thats another example the HE-R10P you can buy here for 6099 € regular price.

I Recommend the Corpse cable with Cardas wire for a great aftermarket cable , no microphonics and even seemed to improve tonality (maybe) .
I just got the Focal Elex, glad to hear you are planning to do a review of it.
I have these on right now as I listen to your review. I can’t help but be more impressed with the Audeze LCDi4 using the Cipher cable.
The manufacturer price for the Utopia is 3999 € in Europe, but you can find it much cheaper if you search a little.
10:30 was so so hilarious ❤❤
There's something called VAT here in the EU.. All prices quoted include this.

You forgot to mention the carry case you can buy which aids your transportable idea even further

By the way, the $5500 HiFiMan HE-R10P is a closed back planar headphone
You are correct! Thanks for the catch. I pinned a correction comment at the top.
"Your country flag is (even) blue on the left and red on the right" this made my day 😂

I agree.
The cables relax with time and use.
You couldn't ever let me design a headphone. I'd be the jerk who would put the blue dot on the right and the red dot left, lol.
No one likes that guy ;p
I love Focal but I would go LCD 5s for this $$$.
Or CRBN?
Utopia been around for few years....
1. taxes. 2. Made in France, :)
It often is that simple, lol. Thanks.

lol the cable entry is so stupid, I don't know how they manage to mess things up like this on a several thousand dollar headphone to be honest
Now I understand why this young man has so few subscribers……
What a waste of time.
