+Nigil Crawford My band director graduated Hampton. I'm in HS. Our school's Neck (Which we call talkin) is based on the Force's. We play the transition into Let me Clear my Throat too. In my opinion the Force and A&T have the best Neck. I just think the Force needs more people in the band to play it...
idk if i said this already but fam has THEE BEST BASELINE to this song EVVVEERR!! lol i heard cookman version, jsu and pretty much anyone else who plays this song. they can't compare to FAM's

@MrMikeezy 18. i was in marchin band when iwas in hi school. my brother and cousin r in the "100" i just didnt know this was one of the songs by cameo. i knew tribute, knights by night, n some other songs were by them, just didnt realize this song was...n souljah boy is WACK!!
@Music1592 LOL, well I am sure they are about the same size they were in 99 so it shouldn't be too much of a problem if they get there early in their seats.
@blueraspberry100 i play alot but in the band i played clarinet since 6 grade up to 11th and i switched my senior year to baritone....i plan on playing baritone marching season and clarinet concert
@harrah5 FAMU is known for its journalism school. and they graduated successful journalits. also they announced at the florida classic this year as the band was entering the field that they have achievements in acedemics
@Kinzer007 That question should really be directed to someone from FAMU but it is a term that a couple of bands use but originated at FAMU from legendary band director Dr. William Foster when he was director. It kind of means hurry up, or let's go, or pep up. So you say Hubba Big Band (Lets Go Big Band). Of course that is my definition. It may be more to it if you search FAMU history.
To my young Katz: Please take a moment and explore the(70's 80's) Groups/Bands of old.... on RUclips. There are a host of horn licks untouched. I'm surprised this one is still hanging in there. Back then Music was Music, and not a VoiceCorder:( Groups had Horn sections! Below are a few: Earth Wind & Fire, Cameo, SOS Band, B.T.Express,Brick,ConFunkShun,Fatback Band,Mandrill(fencewalk),LTD, and a host of others. Explore the past. What once was old... can now be NEW. Its all on RUclips!
@blueraspberry100 im going to a community college first. im a senior now then im going down there. but i kinda want to go there as soon as i graduate.... im just so anxious
A lot of people like to say that FAMU doesn't come with power... Thats straight BULL... Famu doesnt OVERBLOW so its gon SOUND like noones trying to blow but in reality we are MUCH louder than other bands...
Harrah Five Famu is ranked #8 among HBCU's and the #1 Public HBCU in the nation IJS. You just compared our academics to BCU #31, Souther #45, and Grambling #50. I'm not the smartest person in the world (FAMU ALUM - Molecular Biology) but #8 is alot closer to #1 then it is #31. colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/hbcu
Milan Preston maybe you didn't read the rankings I posted. I didn't make it up. Every notable ranking has FAMU above NCAT. I think NCAT took the top spot as the largest HBCU, that may be what you're thinking about. If you care to actually look at the rankings I posted several below. colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/hbcu www.bestcolleges.com/features/top-30-historically-black-colleges/ hbculifestyle.com/hbcu-niche-college-rankings-2015/

Philip Rolle Umm no Phillip. Go check out Southern Universities version
@@kryzo__bro they are both great and that’s ok😂😂
FAMU is such a classy band. They will take music that always sounds awful on paper, make it characteristic, and still be entertaining. Good for them!
Might not be the greatest arrangement but it sounds super nice. The execution is typical FAMU. Quality over sheer power.
FAMU has the best version of neck. I don't even go to school here but being a college tuba player, I love the shit out of this tuba part.
❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
Security & the Sheriff are groovin to it too, lol
