The C-801 is lovely, but I'm not wearing it, feels fragile, so my flip it to someone who's really wanting this model... not bad condition, has a little fogging on the inside of the glass, so will see to that soon... but everything works, and has quite a decent backlight too, better than my DW-5000c :-P

@@childrolland Yours looks more robust and better for everyday, this C-801 is too fragile, but I bought it as challenge to see if I was able to work my wizardry getting it back to life... I did also get the C-80 but that is too far gone for me, so will probably sell that as spares or repairs :-P

I wish I had kept this watch now! The calculator watch you showed, is the exact same one I used to have. It was bought as a gift for me when I was In hospital for a few weeks, that was many, many moons ago, and it was the very first Casio I owned. I absolutely loved that watch. I thought it was brilliant that a watch could also function as a calculator, and I have loved Casio watches ever since. They are still my favourite brand to this day!
Yep! Our family calendar from 2010 is synced up to this year 2021! Amazing!
Now I understand why my Grandmother kept the calendars all those years ago... she was clever and up to date LML :-P

It doesn't cover the moon times I've noticed, so need to look further if that has some kind of cheat, but doubt it unless the watch uses coordinates.

Great vid. This can also apply to say, a stash of old Daily Sport calendars gathering dust in the attic. If you can save money on this sort of stuff it all adds up.

There are different versions of the P130, but if in doubt, you can always check with me to see if it's genuine, happy to help :))

As for buying one...they are a bit thin on the ground and the conditions are too ropey for me. Couldn't see any for sale in UK.

@@roadgent7921 They really don't come up at all... I made a trade for my DW-9900 Frogman for it with my dear friend David Snell... I have made a video about it which I'm sure you've seen... I also found a CITIZEN Arnie too LML :-P
Just be patient and in hope, and I'm sure one will turn up... maybe by then your mind is upon another digital?? LML :-P
As for pricing, think around £150 would be fair, but with the rarity then who knows, for me having the P130 and DW-5000c this makes a great duo from the 80's, and I'm sure you know I'm a G-Shock guy the most :)))

I also like old G-Shocks that don't show a year at all. But that was another nice piece of Casio knowledge. What is the shortest calendar? 1980 - 2019 sounds like a record.
My DW-5000c and DW-5200c have no year end, so have to adjust them on leap years... that CASIO Cakilator is the least years, guess they didn't have confidence that it'll break through the millennium 2000 bug :-P

Great problem solving;) Do think Casio made the P130 and Citizen re - badged it with a “300m depth rating ? Quality looks superb;)
Being I'm a bias G-Shock guy... the P130 is better in all areas... better module, better build (uses resin plastic for the bezel so doesn't fall apart after 35yrs) better backlight, alarm is louder, plus has two alarm tones... there's a P100 if you didn't know that has no bezel, just all metal :))

Why did I not see this before? 😄 Anyway. It is easy to set the date vintage Casio calculator watches. Once you know how. I made a quick (and I hope easy!) guide on Instagram regarding this. 😉

These vintage watches that are fiddly with date and time make feel like I am back in time to the 1980s and I love it! 🕺🏻
@@Daud76 Now, if you open the cakilator and type in 710.77345 and turn it upside down you'll have some lube to keep time running smoothly :)

Once you figure out the date for your vintage watch do you need to change the date on the watch every year for it to be correct?
The simple answer is yes... just search for 2022 next year and use one of the years shown, then you're good for another year... still saves you time adjusting leap years and of course having the day of the week correct.
Really didn't know this, and it all makes sense why my Grandmother kept all her old calendars now :-P

Dear @WatchUP69 Mr Rangeman. I could not find a way here on RUclips to send a private message. I wanted to ask you something about Garmin Fenix 6. Have you well-tested barometer on the watch? How accurate do you find it to be? I keep an eye on it every day and I compare the data with official data from weather forecast services and the data on Fenix 6 is off by 1-2 numbers. Do you think it's just my stupidity not taking into account a difference of altitudes between my place where I am and the place of weather station I compare the data with? I am just trying to learn how accurate barometer is on the Fenix 6. P.S. sorry for totally off topic question. Cheers!

With regards to the Barometric reading, this will alway be different when compared to a reading only down the road... just a little height can decrease the reading... now I breifly covered how I use my Barometer on my GWG-1000 Mudmaster full tutorial, as the number shown is really something that can be suited to you. Let me give you an example... on a wonder day with a steady air pressure I will calibrate my Barometer to 1000... I can read quickly if the pressure is up or down, but anything over 1000 will always be good. It's up to you how you choose, but the sensor for the Barometric pressure is very simply and can't really go wrong... in my opinion it's the best sensor on any watch :)
So all is good my friend, and with only a few out, this is nothing :))

Brilliant I always wondered what happened to watches which run out of date. A little bit millennial bug ish.
It is like the millennial 2000 bug, but finding out that there is matching calendar years really made me happy, now I have the day of the week all aligned again :))

If your entire country has a speech impediment (replacing R with W as in Pwoblem or Bwidge), then why not officially change the spelling of the mispronounce words? Problem solved.
