    Need help please. I just got my C80 back (type with rubber keypads). It was been serviced by a technician, he fixed the numbers keypad and change new batteries. The keypad? still need more effort to push it hard, but all of it works. Maybe he didn't do like you, put some carbon liquid (I don't know).
    Every button works, light-cal-date and buttons + - = on the right side, all works.
    But olny one big problem.. The adjust button not really works. When I push the adjust button its only make the second digit back to 00 (zero). But to do set up it didn't works. As far as I know when I push the adjust button all the display should be blinking right? Then we can do setting with time and date.
    The technician said it maybe "overpower" issue.. He told me to try to change the batteries with another brand/type. What do you think? I already did the AC reset, still adjust button didn't work. Do you have any idea to solve it? I really appreciate it, thank you so much

    Thank you very much for your video. My C-80 (bought used) has been stored away for years because it was shutting off after a few hours or the time display was glitching. Bridging the AC to battery to reset it (a tip in another of your videos) seems to have fixed it.
    The keypad does not work, but I used your tinfoil procedure to check the module contacts and all are fine. I just need to decide whether to buy a replacement keypad or a pot of AP keypad fix. Mine has grey rubber keys, rather than the shiny metal-topped keys seen in many C-80 images - perhaps there were two versions, or do the metal tops break off over time?
    Edit> I bought a new keypad with the metal tops, the watch now looks 100x better than with the chewed up rubber keys I replaced.

    Having got new batteries and strap on my C-80 today this is _really_ interesting. I'm thinking I might try and get a replacement keyboard for mine (it has flush grey rubber keys), so these I've seen for sale wouldn't work, as you say that this keyboard only works in the C-701 and C-801? I'm not sure I like silver keys on the black C-80 so unless I can get grey rubber keys I probably won't bother. Very useful seeing how the glass is a friction fit. Thanks.

    I asked a question in another video upload, but will ask again here. I am an amateur digital watch restorer and recently restored a Citizen P130 back to glory. Only problem I have is that it had no alarm or beeps, which was an easy fix of installing new coils and it is beeping and alarming again, yet beeps and alarm are barely audible. Do you have any idea why alarm and beeps so faint?

    • @VintageDigitalWatches
      @VintageDigitalWatches  5 лет назад +1

      In my experience thos may due to. 1. Spring too short or too long. 2. When the watch is closed other metal parts from the module touch the piezo apeaker. Try isolating the module of the watch from the backcover with a piece of paper and make a hole for the spring.
