I recently found mine that I had as a kid, and at some point in the past I'd had the presence of mind to remove the dead batteries. What remained of the original strap was crumbling so I've had to buy a different strap (the strap in this video isn't original btw). At first when I put the batteries in it was running at like 10x normal speed so I put them in again and all is well now. So glad to be wearing it again after 38 years!

Which one is the very 1st serial? The one with rubber button number or the silver plastic?

@@gilbertpohantube I really don't know, and I don't know if mine was bought for me when they were new or had been out a while. It would be just my guess that the rubber buttons were first.

Ok thanks. My 0 button kind of broke with the rubber. I already got the spare part but have to choose the silver plastic one/rubber. Looks like rubber get easy to broke. At the same time I just want to repair the look as the original first edition came out, to keep the history value

I think this watch deserves a revival. It even has backlight that the CA-500-WE lacks, which baffles me.

This watch also has metal buttons which last much longer than the rubber ones in other models. I came here to learn about setting up the time because the manual doesnt show it in a way, which I understand. When I press the button B (left side second from above) it set the seconds back to zero. So you can adjust the watch from time to time with the time signal from the news in the radio. But I was not able to come into the real time setting mode. Do you know how it works? ---- Ha, I got it. You have to go to the calculator mode, enter the time for example 1023 and after that press button B. The time is now set to 10:23. If it is afternoon press for example 14:23 and the time shown after pressing B is 2:23. Nver had time setting operation on a LCD watch like this!

Le he cambiado de pilas, y no recuerdo poner mes y dia. La hora si supe ponerla.
