  • Today we will give a quick review on the Allsun Electric Fence Tester and get a true reading on our fences.
If you have not been following along, we have been using a broken tester for a few weeks after the grounding stake separated from the wire. While it still provided us with a reading, I was highly suspicious that it wasn't nearly as accurate as I'd like.
Turns out we were correct and this tester seems to be the right tool for our farm. At an affordable price and durable built, our initial thoughts are all positive. I will caution and forgot to mention that this tester will give a max reading of 9900 volts but will also say if you are reading that hot you won't have much to worry about.

And of course I forgot to mention that this will give a max reading of 9900v (9.9kv). Most of the cheap testers max out at 7000v and there aren't actually that many that read much higher. If your fence maxes this out, i'd say you're in great shape!

How important is the ground part for this to work. I want to test it at an apartment complex where the electric fence is about 8 feet off the ground and I don't think the cord will reach the ground.

Won’t give you a true reading. In theory you could wrap a wire around it to another ground like stake to extend if needed. That would probably work. As long as it’s in contact into the ground

Zoomers. Dare one of your "friends" who shouldn't replicate to piss on the fence.

Lol as kids we used to touch electric fences for fun. It’s no longer fun!

I pissed on one while standing in a creek. The shock hit me in the jaw and knocked me over upwards and backwards.
