I own an AG06 . And i have to admit... this is ,by far, the best review i 've ever seen (even before buying and making my research!) Excellent work Jordan!!! 😉
Maybe the most professional review (by far) I've seen about this product.Great job!!
the most well done, clear, concise, and thorough review of this product (and anything like it) i've seen. covered everything that needed to be covered, thank you!
I've just bought this to record my electro acoustic and vocals and that was a brilliant introduction. Thank you. Looking forward to trying it out.
Thank you - you’re really excellent at explaining not just the gear, but sound engineering in general 🙏
The most helpful review I’ve seen! I have watched many videos on audio mixers for my podcast but you’re the only one that has said to not fiddle with the compression and other knobs and instead do that in post processing. That alone was so helpful to me! I’ll prob stick w/my scarlet 212. Thanks!
Jordan my brother, you are awesome! Your reviews are excellent and so complete that you don't leave anything for a viewer to guess. Excellent job and keep up the good work.
As I wait for delivery of my AG06 Mk2, I'm learning a lot from your detailed reviews and demos. Thank you.
Excellent overview covering all the I/Os and features in a clear way. Great job. Thanks so much.
I just bought one and I'm about to set it up your review help me decided to buy it and this overview is top notch. Liked, subscribed and saved. Thanks a lot!
amount of valuable information with so much detail that you have put in this video is amazing. Great Work!!
Im using it now!! I love it!!!! My Shure sm58 had perfect mix for my voice. It also complimented my maono soundcard for sound effects for a live stream. Im amazed on how versatile it is. I got an ag06 but for me as a solo singer, that ag03 is enough. But its not available in my area. So i Just bought the bigger 06 model. Amazingly small and very useful if you are a livestreamer
I've searched for 3 days for a thorough tutorial! Today was my blessed day! Thank you. I just wish you had the AG03 next to you to compare the differences in inputs (altho minimum) Mainly can you do a full tutorial/demo on using the Loopback feature, as well as, Livestream options. Thank you!
Such a detailed and good video, it really helped me understand how this works. You deserve more subscribers!
Useful simple but details way to understand! Best explanation I have seen!
Awesome Tutorial for an Awesome Product!! My AG06 was delivered today and I'm watching you as I upgrade my streaming capability for my Online Bass / Vocal Instruction. THANK YOU!!!
Glad I could help!
@@kettnercreative Yes indeed, you have!
Amazing video. Very clear and professional. I’m looking to buy one of these.
alright, first of all: thank you for selling me this product ahah, had no idea it had an app to extend the functionality on board. Great video, thank you for helping me picking a cool mixer that suits my needs, im definitely going for this over the behringer xenyx qx1002usb thanks!
you guys can read minds! just got the AG03 today and happy to have your help setting it up!
Excellent! Glad this was helpful!
@@kettnercreative was trying to get not available in my country :(
Excellent video. Thank you for a very detailed explanation! I bought the AG 06 MK2. It's just a great device that works really good with very good sound quality. The loopback switch is such a cool feature.
Hi! My question above that you might know: Does loopback send back computer audio to itself? I do a podcast where my cohost connects through Chrome.
Would she get slap-back of herself? Thanks!
Just got this for my podcast...I’m just in the testing out phase with the mixer...but I’m loving how clear the audio is already. Running two Samson Q2Us currently
Nice! Enjoy!
Fantastic review and demo, keep it up!
Incredibly clear, well done!
Thank you kindly!
This dude makes the best detailed videos
Thanks. I try to make the videos that I wanted while learning. Anddddd it’s really fun to play with this stuff every day
@@kettnercreative im gonna Take the Yamaha board with the built-in compression in the fx run it through an apple Camera and Adapter and Convert the USB in the iOS directly into the iPhone 12 an iPad
I bought the same .... I am very satisfied ... Thank you ...
Thank you for such an in depth review.
Very well explained, the only thing you forgot to mention was the foot switch function with wich you can trigger the effects by turning them on or off through an external switch pedal
Wow, really great, professional and very informative review! It´s always a great pleasure to see someone really knows his stuff. Thank you, subscribed 👍
Thank you!! 🇧🇷
Good explication, tank you - from Portugal
Thank you so much, you are very informative
Excellent demo , thanks.
My pleasure!

Best review! Congrats!
Much appreciated!
This guy is a pro.
wooo grazie maestro . un video e una esplicazioni molto chiara . max level! grazie caro! ottimo canale. iscritto.
great explaination, thanks
Fantastic tutorial! many thanks 🙂
You're very welcome!
Thanks @Kettner Creative - could you do a video on how best to set up the AG06 with Zoom video conferencing? Thanks!
I enjoyed your explaination. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi there. I love your videos. They are awesome. Could you make another video showing, if possible, how to setup the YAMAHA AG06 on a dual pc streaming configuration (Streaming PC + Gaming PC + XLR Mic) ?
Well done. Thank you.
Thanks again !! Thank you
What a great video. I wish they put those line input gain switches on the MG06 too. They have a ridiculously low clipping voltage, far lower than what the majority of line level devices peak at, making them useless for any source that doesn’t have it’s own volume control. I don’t need any of the USB features but I’m going to have to buy the AG06 instead of the MG06 just because of the lack of those gain switches.
This is what RUclipsrs should call "real review"!
really helps, thx
Thanks a lot for this video. 😊
You're so welcome!
Awesome video. Thank you! Such a great mixer concept - but the knobs look pretty loose. I wonder if there's a way to tighten them up? What do you think?
Thank you... God bless😇
Thanks for the Video
You’re welcome
Very informative! Got it that the pad does quite the opposite on the incoming signal. Though on the loopback mode---say, during a zoom session---will the mixer return the mixed signal to the USB so the participants will hear the input mic, while the output does a recording via a separate digital recorder (if one is available)? I assume that the USB port acts as a power source, as an input feed, and as an mixed output feed---all at the same time---is that right---same as a USB headphone/mic combo? Thanks!
Great! You had to show the noise level of Yamaha with/without a microphone and latency at basic settings with official drivers and ASIO drivers. Thanks anyway. It looks like a very good option.
Nice video.
I have one Yamaha AG06 for several years and I am happy as I mentioned in another video.
What it could be interesting is that you explain hi how to do mix-minus mix with an external phone call with these small mixers.
An additional question.
Wich is the the "Foot SW" jack connection for?
Great Introduction and demo! Thank you. I'm curious though... For my application, can I connect the XLR L+R outputs from my DJ controller (Denon MC4000) into input lines 1 + 2? As well, if I could do that, could I connect extra mic's to the other inputs on the mixer? I'd like to retain XLR balanced signal from my controller to my speakers (and not TRS). TIA.
thank you for the video. 2 questions. 1. how abt compression in ch 2? how do we enable it? 2. which is the volume control for total mix to usb???
Thank you!!!!
Absolutely outstanding video! We’re getting ready to take ours on the road to a small live event. Couple of questions....
Can we chain this with another mixer via Stereo out?
And now the crazy question...can the mixer be powered using an Apple USB power supply? Same one used to charge phones/pads.
I’ve used this with another mixer yes
Very helpful
Glad you think so!
I have been watching this video for 4 times.
My questions are
1. What happens if I turn on Dry channel 1 and 2 and I also turn on the compression and EQ, is it still destructive or can I still edit the audio later?
2. If I have set the eq and compression, will it work if I use OBS or other video editor?
3. Can use this with android device since it say can only work with iPad?
Thanks
1) Dry Channel 1-2 bypasses the compression/eq. Hense "dry"
2) Any setting will work with OBS, etc. If you use Dry 1-2, you will just get the "dry" version
3) I'm not sure, I haven't tested it with an android device. Android devices vary wildly with their specs.
Great tutorial! I just have one concern with the line level inputs. For some reason, the output from my line level device turns out to be mono. Is there a way I can fix this?
EDIT: Turns out, the cable I used to connect my device to the mixer was wonky. I fixed the problem.
And now Yamaha introduced the AG08😅 i hope they will send you a demo product. And you can review it thoroughly ❤
Thanks for the video! Question... with the loopback turned off, are you basically doing mix minus for audio coming into the mixer? So if I was doing a zoom and I had audio coming from the zoom call, as long as loopback is not on, I would control their volume with the computer knob and they wouldn't hear their voices, correct?
Hi Jordan, another amazing video, thank you, you rock!! Just a couple of quick questions if you have time: 1. If I wanted to plug my 1/8" wireless lav mic receiver into the AG06, would I simply use a 1/8" to XLR adapter and go into one of the XLR inputs? Also, if I was doing an in-person podcast with two other people, how would I connect a third mic to the mixer? If that's too complicated, is there another compact mixer you'd suggest instead? Thanks again, I appreciate your great work.
Regarding your lav mic, just plug it into the 1/8" Lav input. When you do this, your chan 1 now controls the Lav mic and not whatever else is plugged in ch 1.
The MG10XU would be a better choice if you need more than 2 mic inputs.
Thank you very much for this video. Is it possible to record the mic and the loopback to seperate tracks inside a software like Audition? In other words, does the device show multiple inputs in osx when Loopback is activated?
And are the comp/eq settings saved inside the mixer ie. does the software need to be running all the time?
No, when Loopback is on, you can only record the stereo mix. The only way to multi-track record is to use "Dry 1-2"
thank you, this was very helpful. This mixer won't let me hear my sound from my Mac output. I have to monitor on the AG06, then switch to the headphones on my computer when in a Zoom meeting. Can you talk about this? thanks!
A question, if I plug a condenser microphone to a separate phantom power adapter to power it up and then plug it into channel 2 of AG06 will it work?
best explainer video of the ag06 yet. thank you. do you have any content on installing and connecting the AG DSP Controller software?
I had a couple videos, but the software is all updated now. I probably need to make another one soon.
@@kettnercreative that would be appreciated. I tried installing the software and it will not connect to the AG06. Checked forums and others are having this issue. Could be a version conflict issue?
What do you recommend for hooking up a turntable to the AG06, the 1 and 2 xlr inputs or the 5/6 rca?
Amazing review.can I connect my turntable (no usb turntable)and make my vinyl to mp3?
Great tutorial, I would still like to know how to connect my Yamaha (as a mini mixer) into my Alto Professional Travel12 speaker. I use a compressor mic, would really like to be able to tweak everything in front of me, as I’m a singer and really don’t want to be walking to my speaker to change settings. Please help.
Great video. I am having issues recording into Adobe audition. No sound is being recorded. I have tried to troubleshoot but still can't find a solution. Ideas? Suggestions?
thanks for sharing, sorry to ask, is there any software or method can be control Monitor Output and Equalization?
thanks for this Tuts sir. I have a question, Why is it that when I record using my Phone the Audio seems to be very soft? How can i properly adjust it so that it will be louder on the recording? thank you.
This is a great video for this mixer! Quick question, can I connect this interface to the new ipad that has usb-c? I have used this interface for livestreaming concerts on the computer, but I am thinking of switching to using an ipad instead of the computer. I also teach piano lessons with this interface with Skype. How can I set it up with the ipad to use over skype as well? Thank you very much!
You just need the right cable - USB-A end into the mixer and USB-C into your iPad. You would need to power the mixer separately when using any iPad.
Great videos. You explain things brilliantly. I have a keyboard with a usb b connector (printer type). I'm not sure of which cable to use to go from that to the ago6. I was thinking usb b to double quarter inch leads and putting those into the place where you put your phone with the two jacks. You said red always goes right. Would this be correct or do I need to get a more up to date keyboard? Thanks for the videos again
You may have a USB keyboard that can plug directly into a computer without needing to go through a mixer or audio interface. You'd simply go USB-A out of the keyboard into USB B or C on your computer.
How does the Yamaha compare to the Mackie Profx6v3 in terms of noise level and maximum gain on the Mic inputs?
To make it clear, the monitor input for headphones can be used for higher impedance headphones (80 or 250ohm) in order to boost them and receive pc audio exclusively such as youtube videos or video game sounds? It's confusing me since some use it to monitor incoming vocals etc. and I want to use the mixer/audio interface for a dynamic microphone (discord calls etc.) and beyerdynamic headphones for mixing instrumentals in a daw and listening to music/game sounds in general.
Hi Jordan. As always he have done a good review again. I just wondering how to setup this unit on Zoom or Fb live. Sorry.. Newbie here. 🤭 Thank you if you notice this comment.
Great review. Q> I just got the AG06 but still in box. I plan to run it for my turntable, monitors & Mac. Can I plug both 5v dc power adapter which I have (for turntable only) and at the same time if needed via the Mac (usb2.0)?
Is possible send out only mic signal but monitorize the aux inputs? for example. I plug the stereo exit of my pc to CD in, so I can monitore the PC exit in my monitors and in headphones, and at the same time send only the CH1 mic to the PC.
Where do I plug my speaker, I have just one (not monitors, those huge 50w things)? I have L and R cables going from the ag06 to the L and R input behind the speaker. Is it ok?
Great review! Do you think the jack outs (Stereo/Monitor) would be inferior over the XLR outs of other mixers? Thanks!
I don't. The Mackie is just slightly more convenient. You can easily get a Balanced TRS to XLR cable for $5 on amazon without any loss in quality.
Hi, Jordan, does your AG06 makes a white noise when GAIN is turned up, even when nothing is plug into Channel 1? Plus when I plug a condenser mic to Channel 1, there is a ticking crackling noise in the back ground constantly. Is that normal?
If you’re plugging in a keyboard to the combo ins, either 1 or 2, do you need to press the pad button? Does any of that apply when using the mixer as an audio interface?
Can you plug your phone into the aux jack and record it on one track while simultaneously playing guitar and recording it on another track? Thanks.
Thanks for this helpful video. How can I avoid feedback when using the loopback function?
Headphones and make sure that whatever you’re sending it to on your computer (OBS) isn’t returning it to the mixer
@@kettnercreative Thx for replying so quick! I have a guitar plugged into channel 2. This goes to the AmpliTube app to add distortion. I then want to send the distoretd signal over the internet (back to the AG06). Maybe that is what You described to be not possible?
Hi Jordan, thank you for the video. Exactly what I am looking at for a simple small business live-streaming. I have two Rode wireless mics and do you think it will be able to work with this mixer, by having a 1/4 inch adapter connected to the two mics channels? I will then either re-route them to the Mac using OBS or back to my main camera. Thank you for your advice. - alan.
As long as your Rode microphones are NOT condenser mics, you'll be able to use both of them with XLR or 1/4" cables. If the Rodes are both condenser mics, you'd only be able to use the one plugged into channel 1 and you must use an XLR cable. If you're not sure what kind of mics you have, provide the model number and someone will be able to tell you.
Hi, are the adjustments made in the AG software (e.g., compression, EQ) saved to the mixer, and then avaiable for use even when the software is not running?
I would like to use the device with jamkazam where having additional audio software running at the same time as jamkazam might introduce "jitter" or other problems. Thanks.
Hola mi pregunta es puedo conectar 2 Yamaha AG06 entre si para luego hacer la transmision en vivo por obs?
What OHMs headphones would you recommend? 80 or 250 on the Beyerdynamic DT 770? And also in terms of general headphones what OHMs with this mixer?
If I wanted to route a remote guest through this, how could I set up a mix minus? Could I input Channel 2 and then use the monitor out, utilizing the mute monitor function?
