I own both and found out I use the AG06 more than the MG10XUF. The MG10 has Mix Minus, but the AG06 is a better use when at your PC. It's monitor with the 2 knobs, for me, makes it much easier to switch between speakers and headset. Als hearing myself over my XLR mic while in meetings, is better to handle than on the MG10.
It's always interesting to compare two products like those. I would really like you to do a compare between the Zoom L-8 or L-12 versus the Yamaha MG10XU or the Mackie Pro10FXV3... All three products are really hot right now and having your knowledge and advices would be really nice.
Hey Jordan and KC! I just wanna thank you all for the advice. I own a yamaha 10xu it's great for live performance! And I Paired my solid state + and shure smb with it for podding good quality sound for shure 😉 it makes me sound extra buttery like Barry White (sarcasm)
@Kettner Creative Thank you, I like your reviews. I have a Yamaha AG06 mixer and I want just to point several things. The compresor/Eq boton is adjusted by the app in th ePC, but once it's adjusted it remains in the mixer, that means that you can configure it and then use it without using the App. In the same idea, you are able to use the Dry CH 1 2 mode for doing multi-track recording wit the dry signal as you have explained, but in tha App you are also able to select the PAN in the CH 1 and 2, therefore you could record both channels separately but aplying the compresor, efects and extra gain if you want. One of th emissed things in the app is that you can only use the PAN adjusting in channels 1 and 2 :( Another missed thing in the AG06 I would like to have (adding to a phisical PAN knobs for all the inputs) is a general mixer gain knob and a gain control knob for the Aux input, that it's something very useful but yu have to manage from the source. But I agree with you th eAG06 is a great device, I also use it as preamp for my HiFi systemwhen I connect my Minidisc or phone, and also for recording from the HiFi system to my computer (vynil records, musicassette,...)
Hi, thanks so much for the video, very informative! What’s the latency like on both of them? Is one worse than the other? They look like they have very similar engines so I’d *imagine* they’d be comparable. However as you mentioned before in the video, I’m one of those people who doesn’t like to mix/master in the DAW itself because I’m partially on the autistic spectrum and trying to do it in a DAW is way too complicated for me for some reason. But if it’s all analog mixing outside the DAW and on the mixer itself, for some reason I understand it a lot better. So personal preference in my case. But I’m wondering if that will cause the latency to be worse on the MG10. What do you think?
I'm not clear on how "Input Mix" mode works with USB. Does the USB output get a mix minus in that case, or does the USB input not even enter the mix? I like the way the ProFXv3's handle USB with the separate 1-2 and 3-4 inputs and the headphone blend control, but even the ProFX6v3 is huge compared to these, and the gives up features like the compressor and USB power. Thanks! Loving this channel!
Thank you, I am planning to exchange Yamaha MG10XUF for AG06 because I need light one for traveling. Also considering AG08 - I mostly use it for zoom live events and webinars, wondering if have any thoughts on AG06 vs AG08?
Thaks for the video! i have a question: the 10xu has the same loopback function than the ag06? Or not? I am interested on that feature specially, and it will make me decide which one i will get. please your answer is greatly appreaciated !! Regards.
Hi Jordan, i just bought Yamaha MG10XU after watching your videos, i do karaoke on zoom since last few months, my friends says i sound good and i also like what i hear on my headphone, but when i record on GarageBand it sounds horrible, do i need to buy an interface for recording or it’s just matter of settings, sorry if i sound stupid, i am very new to this…..Thanks..
Mg10xu driver has failed me and it just stopped running completely for several days(it was on and off randomly before) on my windows 10 computer, so I decided to just sold them on 2nd hand market. I wonder if ag06 has the same issue on windows 10 machine?
Hi, Jordan! I think my concern is very easy for you to answer. I’m desperate. I’m a live music streamer and I bought a new audio interface, Steinberg UR22C, plugged directly to my laptop. I use a condenser mic (Audio Technica 2020) and in-ear monitors (Shure SE215) both plugged to my audio interface. The problem is when I use my mic and listen to my backing tracks to my in-ear monitors, the audio is soft. However, my recordings and streams (basing on what the viewers hear and end-of-stream recordings) are perfectly fine and actually sound great. I can’t figure out why the audio sounds in my monitors while recording/streaming sounds so soft. What am I missing? I’m using Windows. Please help, I’m really desperate now.
Can the AG06 run stand-alone, e.g. powered from just a power bank? And will it then still remember the last effects that were dialled in via the software?
I have one and I tried using the guitar amp sim with a phone charger and it worked. I haven't changed the settings on yamaha s software so I don't know if it saves
Yes, you can power the AG06 with a power bank with a micro USB cable and yes, it will remember your setting. Don't turn it off then right back on because the AG mixers need a few seconds to store the software.
Hi, I have a Yamaha Mgp32x, how will I be able to connect my laptop so that I can use the mixer for both receiving and sending audio for streaming like zoom? teams?
My wife and I sing as a duo and want to record at home so we use two mics and an iPad with our backing tracks and an iPad to record ,,would the AG06 be suitable ,thanks
I have a question. If I am teaching guitar through zoom lessons, and I want to play along to a song or a backing track to show something to a student, which one of those would be a better tool? Both have loopback, right?! Which one would sync better so the student in the other end of the call would hear me in sync with the song?
Yeah, you can. But keep in mind it would sum the non-usb-mixer to a single stereo channel. Just connect the 1/4" outputs from your mixer to channel 1 and 2. Select "Dry Input 1-2" on the usb options.
Hi, I am looking for a tutorial on how to work on the AG DSP Controller Especially the Equalizer and the Reverb effect. Can you please make a video on that. Thank you. :)
Hello Jordan, I have the MG10XUF and wanted to connect my phone to the mixer (to send audio from phone to mixer). I'm wondering which cable is better to use, a single TRRS to TRS or a TRRS to dual TRS? what is the difference in both? please help me solve this crisis, thank you
Hey may I ask any question? I saw the ag06 overview, are the effects/FX on ag06 software only contained the reverb, delay and I forgot the last one, are the effects only those? Or you can add or create one?
@@kettnercreative WOW thanks for answering!!.I'm kinda confuse which to buy between two of these, I like how compact ag06 is, and I really love how tactile mg10ux is, and really love those various effects, but I guess from the conclusion, for live streaming AG06 is much better than mg10 am I correct?
@@dafaqu694 I have a Yamaha MGP32x and a MG10xu and a 4-channel audio interface and would still like to buy the AG06 and that's why I'm here. I have ag06 and the effects works well. Just adjust it in a software that can be downloaded. It will loaded in the device as well. Just one press and reverbs are there. Amazing!
Hi. No, not as far as I know. You need an aux. output, the AG's don't have that. Strange enough I have issues with the USB feed going back out on the MG10. But Mix Minus works. I use an ordinary headset splitter for my cellphone which works but seems unreliable signal wise.... My Android S9 is to blame I guess. Other reviews also state the AG's are great, but not perfect for podcasts and stuff because of the lack of mixminus.
Yes and no. It can work as a standalone audio mixer, but if you want to edit the effects/comp/eq/amp sim, you need a computer to edit/save the setting. Once the setting is saved onto the mixer, you no longer need the computer.
Thank you, Jordan, for your helpful videos. I have a MG10xu that I use for my keyboards/mic at home and as a keyboard sub mixer with my MGP32x at gigs. I also have a 4 channel audio interface which I've never used. I'd like to buy something small like a AG06 or a Roland Go:Mixer Pro X for recording vocal and guitar into my iPad Pro. What are your thoughts on the GoMixer Pro? I'd love to see a comparison with the AG06. Thank you.
Thank you for making this!

Absolutely Fantastic Comparison. You are very skilled at presenting ! thank you!
Glad you liked it!
MG10XU can easy heat up to 50 °C in the top area and requires both power supply and USB cables. I have an AG03 and it is always cold
A really good review in comparing the AG & MG, great job

Any lavalier mics you recommend for the MG10XU? I'm using some cheap Polsen mics and the just sound really distant/roomy.

What about the Yamah MG06X..? Maybe would have been better to compare both mixers with same number of inputs
I have the same doubt... has anybody tried it?
Awesome Video dude! Question. Ref: AG06 with ECAAM Live Software, in Interview mode. How do I stop the echos in the audio feed on both ends.
On the AG06, can you monitor the other inputs whilst sending only the microphones connected to the XLR inputs when using the Dry Channel 1/2 option?
what line meen in mixer near the xlr input
and can i use the line to control discord and game and music ...sound

Is it possible to play my guitar with all the reverb, delay...etc during live streaming? For this these two model?
can the mg10xu do all that ag10 can do on the live stream part and which one has better quality and effects in livestreaming?

Just FYI it is surprisingly easy to do a meeting in a vr chat private world. No you don't need vr gear (it just helps).
