Nice breakdown! Trent is a thinking corner with good instincts and fluid hips, and would be even better with a more innovative DC. Spags just likes tall, athletic corners with long arms, brains optional ... the exact opposite of McDuffie. I'd guess it was Veach who wanted him. McDuffie rarely makes stupid mistakes, and he's a rookie.
I love McDuffie. I would actually prefer that KC play more man and less zone. Teams continually find the soft spots in the zone and get easy completions. Not to mention we give up way to many short passes to backs out of the backfield.

I’ll let the corners slide as 3 of the 4 are rookies. Keep sneed in the slot and let Mcduffie and Watson play the outside or zone.
All the other corners are over 6 ft and bryan cook our rookie saftey looks nice hes raw but is great in the box already. Chiefs secondary in 3 years will be top 10 in the league easy
Some people would argue it’s the players. However, since Spags arrived it hasn’t mattered who is out there. Lots of PIs, soft zones, M2M against elite receivers and the Dline isn’t good enough to limit the QB’s time. The schemes are just bad regardless of the roster. Would like to see how this personnel performs with a more modern thinking D coordinator. Allen and Burrow seem to have the Chief’s number, but they have a huge advantage over Mahomes in those games. They get to play against the Chiefs D. It’s like playing against the Jackson County YMCA Adult Flag Football Champions. Even 3rd and 20 isn’t a slam dunk because they’ll either get a PI or leave a wide open spot in the zone and give the QB all day to find it. It’s the one thing that stands in the way of another SB and I don’t believe Spags is the guy to solve it (but he did fix Russel Wilson 😉).
@@bolickmjCouldn’t agree more. Spags is way to susceptible to being gameplanned against. If it wasn’t for mahomes I can promise you the chiefs would still be one and done in the playoffs. Spags makes talent disappear.

Like you both said I feel a new and more modern thinking defensive coordinator would do us wonders! We really do have some pretty good talents on the defensive side of the ball, scheme just doesn't fit them. Our Dc isnt a problem, we just needed development from our rookies and spags learning what they are great at and scheming them to be great
