Bates Method 101: Clear Flashes and Dynamic Relaxation

  • In this video, Certified Bates Method Teacher, Nathan Oxenfeld, covers the topic of Clear Flashes, or Flashes of Clarity, and how "dynamic relaxation" and "central fixation" are the primary ways to make these improvements appear and last longer.
    When you start spending more time without glasses or contacts, in conjunction with actively practicing the Bates Method, you may begin to experience temporary improvements in your visual acuity, where you can see clearly without lenses in an area that is normally blurry. If you are nearsighted, you will experience a flash of clarity in the distance. If you are farsighted, you will experience a flash of clarity up close.
    In this video, Nathan shares a handful of success stories and case histories of his vision students experiencing these flashes of clarity to provide you with some inspiration to experience them yourself.
    Although it make take longer (months or years) to achieve 100% permanent improvement, you should be able to experience these initial improvements within the first weeks of practicing natural vision improvement correctly. If you are only doing physical eye exercises however, the flashes of clarity may not appear for you, because that is not necessarily the correct way to improve your vision naturally.
    As Aldous Huxley explains in the excerpt that Nathan reads out loud to you in this video (15:51), the key to achieving a flash of clarity is something called "dynamic relaxation", which is the ability to relax your eyes and mind while in use. This is different than "passive relaxation", which is the ability to relax your eyes and mind while not in use, when your eyes are closed, or there is nothing to see or focus on.
    Another key, which is made apparent from several of the case histories and success stories Nathan shares in this video, is "central fixation", or the ability to see best where you are looking, as opposed to trying to see your entire visual field (central & peripheral) in an equal amount of clarity.
    The flashes of clarity may be partial or total. This means that you may not experience a flash of 100% clarity at first, but maybe a flash of 10%, 25%, 50%, or 75% clarity instead. No matter how clear your vision becomes during the flash, it is still a good sign that you are using your eyes correctly, serves as proof that natural vision improvement is possible, and provides you with a glimpse of the potential your vision can reach if you continue practicing the Bates Method every day.
    Have you experienced a flash of clarity before? If so, share your experience in the comments below!

Also i went college today after one week. and i was amazed as ' i was able to walk without glasses in the college which never happened before i was at once able to see the board clear and climbed stairs to third floor without specs and it was magical and pleasant " ! Thank u so much. 💜 i evrday listen atleast two videos of yours so as to get motivated . These r very helpful

    For me I started with -2.25 both eyes, after 1 week bates and active focus in front of computer daily, I saw first flash of clarity, and then now one month after I get flash of clarity almost 25% of the time, even more when outdoor with good light, I can produce them by blinkin and focus, hope it will continue this way and get better
    (since the first day I started, I never put the glasses again even if its hard)

    Nathan, I’m fairly new, maybe 6 months, following your videos and now only use more light or a magnifying glass rather than wear my glasses . Thank you and the late Dr Bates. This video in particular explains what has been amazingly been happening to me. When I would get a flash of clarity I’d have to regain composure and centralize. Thank you for educating me on what was happening and how to sustain it.

    Hello, Nathan, and all who will read this. I want to share my experiances with clear flashes. Actualy I am having one as I write these words, haha. I am on and off eyesight improvement for many years with sometimes few years of doing nothing at all. Mostly because I had to clear ton of mental and emotional blocks, plenty of childhood traumas first just to be able to adress my eyesight. There is lots of emotional end mental discomfort I have to face (others do that as well, I imagine), but I feel ready to get to the bottom at last. Anyway since I am not new ( I already gained back 1 dp some year ago, started with - 3), I am getting clear flashes often throughout the day. Only partially, but it is really nice to be talking to someone and suddenly see them clearly. It feels as my eyes got alive at last and working and clarity is something they seek very naturally. I am learning a lot from you and understanding the way natural vision should "look like" much more clearly then I ever did. Excitement does stand in a way, haha, but since these are habits to be learned, I see how my mind starts to use them automatically and whole system starts to just "get it". And it is so much more then an eyesight. My whole personality shifts to a more relaxed, happy and playful one. It's quite a journey!

    Hi Nathan!~
    My name is Shayna and I have your book and have been following your work watching your videos for quite some time. Right now I have finally let go of “the need” of glasses completely and this is my 12th day without them! I am an interesting case because I have a About -7 or maybe it’s gone down idk vision in both eyes except one eye got a little worse than the other. Then again these words are solid but everything is always changing all the time, so this information might be wrong now, but I just have the blurry vision part without any other eye problems. Very lucky. I’ve been eating very good too and I’m vegan. I have eye vision strengthening pill supplements I also take to help encourage my eyes to strengthen. I also ordered these Shaman eye drops made in the amazon discovered by the Amazonian people which I have been waiting on! I’m soo excited! Not only do these drops work on repairing the physical vision but they also work on the mind, the spiritual and the emotional, so it’s a full on healing experience like a ceremony. I am a Shaman. Soo my knowledge and experience in this may be different compared to others. Sooo glad I’m not alone in this!

    As an observational astronomer now over 40 years this was interesting as we use averted vision often to see dim objects, but still this study always comes to mind. 'The resolution of the eye, its ability to resolve fine detail, falls off rapidly beyond 0.6 degrees from the line of sight as illustrated by Anstis (1974). It is four times poorer at 10 degrees radius as it is within the 0.6 degree radius from the line of sight.' Just to cooberate what he said in this video.

    Thanks Nathan, this is good stuff! I am a student in your online course and was experiencing clear flashes before the course but now that I am implementing the trifecta and watching I am noticing more clear flashes than ever before. They disappear upon blinking so it really makes me almost want to stare to keep the clarity for a few more seconds, but this video addresses the key of having the confidence that the clear flashes are real and they will eventually stay. They will come back. As I am taking this thought into consideration on a daily basis I am experiencing more clear flashes! They are not longer in duration yet, but more is better. Love the detailed explanation in this video. Very helpful thank you!

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  6 лет назад

      Thanks for sharing! I had to get over that same mental block of fear of blinking. Sounds like you're starting to adjust your approach and obtain more frequent flashes. With repetition they will become longer lasting. There is a big mental component to maintaining the clarity too. It's similar to when you lucid dream... if you realize you're dreaming and get too excited, you'll wake up. However, if you can stay calm you stay asleep and can dictate what happens next in your dream. Likewise, when you get a clear flash if you get too excited you'll actually chase the clarity away. If you can stay calm, the clarity will stay longer.

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  6 лет назад +2

      Yes! That goes to show you what is possible when you correctly apply dynamic relaxation in your life. Those clear flashes are little previews of your own potential, and it also challenges the incorrect idea that improving your vision is going to take a really long time or be very difficult... instead, that experience you had proved that clearer vision is possible right here right now! Keep it up and they will multiply and last longer.

    Thanks a lot mate, I usually have clear flashes that last a few seconds or up to a couple minutes in my bad eye when its nice and sunny outside. The weather this morning and at noon right now has been cloudy, but this video helped me keep my eye relaxed after the palming much more than normal and I got multiple clear flashes as long as the longest ones I've gotten from staying outside for several hours. I also finally learnt what central fixation actually is and I applied it after palming by looking outside at the tiny dot on a car's license that seperated the 2 sets of numbers on the plate and then after ~30 seconds I could clearly identify all the numbers for a nice short period of time without straining and hurting my eyes. I did this a few times and it was very nice.

  • @phenomenon452

    Finally you have explained it all. I have listened to so many teachers and I always got disappointed. Now I understand. We can sustain the clear flashes with dynamic relaxation. This is the key. Personally I don't think we can completely cure our eyes. But we can constantly work on them and we can get rid of our glasses and experience a better eyesight. And that is truly a miracle for a short-sighted person like I am. Sceptical people with perfect eyes will never understand what clear vision - even if it only lasts for a few seconds - means for someone like me. Thank you very much for your honesty and clear explanation.

It's really hard for me to do some of the exercises since without my glasses I can't see almost anything. But I've been trying! Yesterday I had my first walk to the park with my wife w/o glasses! It was hard but I think this is working. I've had a couple of flashes of clarity but always after I get out of bed. I started using a sleeping mask, as you recommend in one of your vids, and in the mornings I'm able to see things in my house that I'm sure I can' w/o glasses. This only last for a couple of seconds though. I think it happens because of all the relaxation my eyes get from the complete darkness I have during night. Anyways, I'm very into this since I'm refusing in having the surgery for now. I would like to talk more with you and see how to go to the next level. Thanks again for all your help!

I got to the point where I keep them closed for 2 seconds, and open them and when everything is a bit more clear. I'm able to feel that sensation in my eyes and hold it maybe for a couple seconds.. maybe for a minute. At the minute I'm just getting used to that sensation but my hope is that my eyes can feel that sensation and be able to replicate it without the reverse blinks

      Changing your mindset about your vision is the first step. The more hopeless and despondent we feel, the worse our vision will deteriorate. Thinking less negatively and more positively about your eye health and vision will create new possibilities for healing and improvement. Before I even started doing any vision practices, I actually experienced a positive shift in my vision just by reading books about natural vision improvement and changing the way I thought and believed about my vision. Powerful stuff!

    Hi Nathan, I'm curious if in your experience, or maybe some of your student's experience, you have noted a relationship between the ability to see space in order to sustain dynamic relaxation? I have had moments of clear 'flashes' that lasted for days and days and what seems to have been the constant was that I was practicing the visual exercise in the Open-Focused Brain book, which was a practice that involved seeing the space in-between objects and the eyes. Resting the gaze on empty space itself and also the objects equally.

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  3 года назад

      Yes! That is definitely a clear flash. Anytime you can see more clearly, even if it is temporary, is a clear flash. One reason you saw more clearly was because you were more relaxed, due to it being in the middle of the night and in the middle of sleeping. I have had several students report the same experience, realizing that all of a sudden they can read their clock across the room without their glasses for example. The more you practice the Bates Method, the more of those experiences you start having, until they take over and become the new way you see all the time!

      That's okay if it gets blurry again... just let it go blurry, and then let it go clear again. That's how this process works, the ebb and flow from clear to blurry. Just keep cultivating the clear flashes and over time they will outnumber the blurry times. Also, make sure you're blinking correctly. Sometimes if you're blinking with strain it makes the flash disappear.

    Hi Nathan! Thanks for sharing this information in an easily absorbable way. I’ve experienced clear flashes and it is soo encouraging to know that I’m moving in the right direction ☺️. I do have a question, while experiencing the clear flashes does the eye become less and less myopic? I’m currently at a -5.0 in both eyes and once I experience these flashes does my eye reset to my baseline diopter of-5.0 or does it continue to get less myopic with each successive clear flash?

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  4 года назад +1

      Each time you get a clear flash, your myopia either decreases or disappears altogether. When the clear flash fades, your myopia may either return to where it was before the flash, or it may not be as bad... it depends. Remember that your vision is a very fluid phenomenon that can change due to many factors. But the idea is that the more clear flashes you experience, the more your vision normalizes and stabilizes until you can maintain 20/20 vision and no longer need any prescription!

    • @NathanOxenfeld

      No. Like I mentioned in the response to your previous comment, you may be approaching this incorrectly and putting too much emphasis on the physical "eye exercise" component, which is not the correct way to improve your vision. The Bates Method isn't like taking your eyes to the "eye gym", it's about taking them to the "eye spa" and teaching them how to relax. The problem with your eyes is not that they are weak and need to be strengthened. The problem is that your eyes are over-worked and over-strained and need to be relaxed. I call them "vision practices" not "eye exercises". All vision practices should lead you into a state of rest and relaxation, not into a feeling of pain or discomfort. The saying "no pain no gain" does not apply to the Bates Method... instead, it should be "no pain no strain". Make sure you are prioritizing RELAXATION on a physical, mental, and emotional level, otherwise you might be missing the mark.

    i have heard that vision problems are far more prevelant among not just adults, but also school age kids more and more and more, all over the world. and part of it has to do with the fact we are all constantly on blue light machines and not getting proper sunlight. also they have gotten people to wear sunglasses way too much and it is literally causing these issues. bates even said it over 100 years ago, that children should do these practices in class. they should do that now too. i am curious your thoughts on this

    Whats happen in eye when we get clear flashes, is it increases the pressure of eye resulting in glucauma

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  2 года назад

      No. Clear flashes are a result of relaxation, not tension. When you get clear flashes, it means your eye muscles have relaxed, allowing your eye organ to become more flexible, you're probably more in a state of central fixation, you're probably moving instead of staring, the channels of your eyes open up to allow for more circulation, and your visual cortex is perceiving the light entering your eyes in a more efficient way. There's a lot going on when you get clear flashes, but it's all good stuff, nothing that would lead to glaucoma... not sure where you heard that?

    Ok so i'm gonna tell you my story. I used to have a very clear vision when i was little. But when i turned 17 my vision started to blur everyday more and more until i couldn't see almost anything anymore. I felt like a blind person. Doctor gave me glasses but i hate glasses never used them. Not trying to say that people shouldn't use glasses because without them it can be dangerous and to be honest i should've used glasses but i couldn't. I felt bad and tried so hard to see things without glasses. I couldn't even
    recognize people if they were standing 16 feet away from me. Finally i gave up and didn't care anymore and I've got used to my blindness. Instead of trying and focusing so hard to see little things i tried to stay relax and look and what i couldn't see i tried to get closer so i can see.Anyway it's been few months now that my vision is getting better and i can now actually see a lot better. I still don't see letters and numbers if they are too small and a little faraway but my vision is not blurred anymore and i can recognize people and environment around me easily. I don't even feel anymore like my eyes are weak. I don't know is this because i keep my eyes relaxed or some miracle is happening 🙂.

      That's one of the cool things about clear flashes - they happen when you're not trying to make them happen. Clear vision is meant to be effortless like that. If we're trying too hard to force it, it'll probably stay blurry. Keep relaxing into clearer vision!

    "Those a probably just due to tears on the lense that might make you think your vision is better but it's not." That's what my doc told me when I asked about clear flashes before I knew about the Bates Method

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  6 лет назад +3

      I agree that a healthy tear film does contribute to flashes of clarity, but that's not the only thing going on. In addition to the Bates Method activating the lacrimal glands to produce more tears naturally, when you get a clear flash the six extraocular muscles are activated and get your eye into the correct shape, the ciliary muscles around your lens are activated and get your lens into the right shape, the muscles in your iris are activated and get your pupil to the correct size, central fixation allows the light entering the eye to focus on the fovea centralis, and all the retinal cone cells are relaxed and receptive of the light, transmitting it through the optic nerves back to the visual cortex. And that's only the physical side of it... on a mental level, your memory becomes more perfect, your imagination gets stimulated, your visualization clears, and your mental perception sharpens to allow you to create a clearer visual image in your mind. Remember, you see with your brain/mind, not with your eyes. So don't let your eye doctor make you think that your vision improvements are not real, or that they are just coincidental because of tears. Keep getting more flashes of clarity and they will eventually multiply and become your new baseline vision.

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  6 лет назад

      The more you master dynamic relaxation, the more you'll be able to maintain the clarity. Since your eye muscles are so used to being strained and tense, when they temporarily relax and give you a clear flash, they usually revert to their old strain patterns pretty quickly and your vision gets blurry again. It's all about repetition, so the more you keep practicing, the longer they will last. There is also a big mental component to maintaining the clear flashes. When I first got my clear flashes, the excitement, and sometimes fear, that came from seeing more clearly actually made the clear flashes disappear. So you have to learn how to remain calm amidst the clarity and learn how to make that the new way you see the majority of time. Stick with it and you'll get there!

    The flashes are real, but I still have no firsthand experience that could show if they lead to permanent improvement or how long that might take.

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  6 лет назад +5

      The temporary clear flashes are usually brought on by physical relaxation from palming, sunning, swinging, etc. but the permanent clarity is secured by more mental techniques, involving your ability to maintain central fixation and dynamic relaxation of your eyes and MIND. You can relax your eyeballs all you want, but if you're not relaxing your mind then the eyes will eventually strain again. Dr. Bates taught extensively on the connection between your MEMORY, IMAGINATION, and ability to VISUALIZE MENTAL PICTURES as a way to turn the temporary improvements into permanent ones. I remember for me it was quite a mental and emotional experience, because I was so used to having blurry vision that I was more comfortable in the blur, and felt vulnerable and exposed to the world and people when I started seeing clearer. I had to take more responsibility for myself and could no longer "hide" behind the blur. So it also has to do with your personality type, your psychological state, and your "bigger vision", beyond just your eyesight. As I read out loud to you in this video, some people achieve permanent clarity quite quickly, but in the majority of cases it takes longer to reestablish and secure good vision habits to permanently replace bad vision habits. Even if it takes a long time, I think it's totally worth it to keep exploring the clear flashes and taking better care of your eyes in the long run to avoid further deterioration on your vision and prevent the development of more complicated vision issues in the future. Stick with it and don't give up!

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  6 лет назад +4

      It sounds like you already achieved dynamic relaxation if your clear flash lasted a couple hours! How did your eyes feel during that long flash of clarity? How did your mind feel during that long flash of clarity? The answer to that will be a clue of how to achieve it again.
      Dynamic relaxation is achieved when you are using your eyes in a relaxed way without any strain or effort. One of the easiest ways to achieve dynamic relaxation is movement. Your eyes strain when you stare, so move! The Long Swing or just a Head Swing will create dynamic relaxation. Even as you read this comment, you can be pivoting your head left and right like you're shaking your head "no" and it will relax your eye muscles. Centralizing is also relaxing to your mind, so hone your mental and physical focus down to a small area and it will relax your eye muscles. You can also try "smiling with your eyes". If you look at things with "angry eyes" your muscles are tense. But if you look at things with "smiling eyes" your muscles are soft and relaxed. It's a different way of looking at the world and using your eyes all day long.

      The "hard blink" can be used as a way to get clear flashes every once in a while, but I don't want you to get too hooked on it... remember the Bates Method teaches "natural vision improvement", and hard blinks are not very natural. You don't see people who have perfect vision doing hard blinks do you? No, they blink softly and gently and regularly. So I want you to start experimenting with how to achieve and maintain clear flashes from soft gentle blinks instead of only with the hard blinks. Take Dr. Bates' advice and start observing and imitating people who have perfect vision if you want to achieve perfect vision. Study how they use their eyes, and replicate that.

      Practice the Bates Method, purify your diet, try supplementing with Silica, drink more water, prioritize Swinging, Sunning, Palming. The more your vision clears up, the less you will even see the floaters.

    Should we also avoid screen time looking at computers and such?

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  6 лет назад +3

      Yes! When you are on a computer apply the 5-10-15 rule: every 5 minutes or less, look 10 feet or farther, for 15 seconds or more. Blink your eyes more frequently. Close your eyes often to rest them. And most importantly, use blue blocking software like flux or iris to cut down your eyestrain.

      Hi, when your eyes get teary and feel a bit like they're burning, it's the ciliary muscles around your lens that are relearning to flex. It's a good thing! Check out Mark Warren, "myopiaismental" too. I like both his and Nathan's approach, and am doing a combination of the two, with good results.

    Hi Nathan...I'm now 20years old..I'm wearing Glass from 11 years old...I have a high minus power (-10)...Can it be possible to cure my myopia?... Plz tell me....

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  6 лет назад

      Yes it is possible. What will be a better approach for you though is to set intermediate goals... for example, before thinking about totally curing your myopia, first try to decrease one diopter to -9.00. Once you achieve that goal, then you can set your next goal, to try and cut your prescription in half to -5.00 or -4.00. Then, once you reach that goal, you can maybe start to consider the possibility of going all the way with it. Baby steps!

      How much time do I give for eye exercise from morning to night?

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  6 лет назад +1

      The physical vision practices (I don't like to call them exercises, because you're not exercising your eyes, you're relaxing them) should only take between 5 and 45 minutes total from morning to night, either all at once or spread out throughout your day. But that's not what the Bates Method primarily teaches... it primarily teaches you how to replace bad vision habits with good vision habits all day and night long, so technically you are practicing 24/7 a new more relaxed way of using your eyes in a dynamic way. So it's important to understand that improving your vision depends on BOTH the physical practices (5-45 minutes) AND the mental habits (all the time).

    Am I only one who is weeping when having a clear flash? Or I'm weeping if I try to stay on clear flash. And it hurts little bit

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  6 лет назад

      Some people experience tear production and crying when they start getting clear flashes. When your eyes relearn to focus on their own, it can lead to big releases, physically, mentally, and emotionally! The "hurting" sensation may be you actually feeling your eyes starting to work correctly again, the feeling of focusing. However, there should generally not be pain involved in seeing, so I cannot say for sure and would need to discuss the matter with you further to give you more info. Just remember to keep it relaxed and that clear effortless focus comes easily, not difficultly!

      If you really try to "force" it, it does hurt. Mark Warrens method kind of involves a bit of force. I started with his method but have been exploring other ways.
      Just today I was able to clearly make on the label on my Ponds moisturizer three times (I did it more than once to check I wasn't imagining things).
      It wasn't clarity like what I with glasses, it was just the label. I think trying to experience the clarity like what you have with glasses is what causes the strain/pain.
      From what I've been reading now you need to relax and work yourself up from a very small point of focus in the center to a larger area of focus.
      I'm a moderate myope by the way. My original script is in the -6s

    How does it differ from active focus?

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  4 года назад

      The Bates Method promotes mental, physical, and emotional relaxation is the most natural way to get clear flashes and eventually normal vision without glasses. Active focus may imply some effort on your part to "try" to see, rather than "allowing" to see like the Bates Method teaches... eyesight is meant to be effortless, just like all the other senses like smell, taste, touch, hearing, etc. but they're just two different ways of improving vision naturally, so see what works for you... everyone is different.

      Active Focus is something taught by Jake Steiner. My approach emphasizes dynamic relaxation as a way to focus without any effort or strain, as described in this video.

    Hi Nathan I did not expect you to upload, but I have a few things to say.
    Firstly, I have been contemplating getting your book but it is so darn expensive and I feel like if the price was lower you would get so much more sales. And I know it’s an investment but still.
    Secondly, I am nearsighted so I can’t see good far... but I have came across eye exercises before and I was and still am skeptical. I am just worried that I might end up harming my eyes instead of fixing it like an amazon review stated on an eye fixing book and apparently they got cross eyed or something.
    Thirdly, does your book only teach the bates method.
    Fourthly, what is your story how bad were your eyes and how long did it take for them to get better.
    Thank you,
    Please respond

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  6 лет назад +2

      1. Can you put a price on clearer, healthier vision for life? ;)
      2. I don't teach "eye exercises" because "exercise" implies effort, tension, and strain, which is the opposite of what improves vision, which is relaxation. If you solely do physical eye exercises, you could end up harming your eyes or not experiencing any improvements. If you are properly practicing holistic eye care, you are replacing bad vision habits with good vision habits and attaining more relaxed and balanced eyes. You run no risk of harming your eyes, unless you do the practice incorrectly (which is why I recommend getting specific guidance from a teacher). Even though I am very proud of creating a powerful workbook that walks you through the entire vision improvement process step-by-step, when you learn anything out of a book there is still room for error, which is why my one-on-one students get the best results because they eliminate the chance of making mistakes along the way.
      3. No, there are also chapters in my book about Yoga, Meditation, Brain Balancing, and Emotional Healing that go beyond just the Bates Method.
      4. Got glasses in elementary school for myopia. Started contacts in middle school, developed astigmatism. Wore them every day 24/7 for 10+ years, got up to almost -4 myopia almost -2 astigmatism. Learned about Bates Method in college. Practiced it by myself without the help of a teacher for 2-3 years, got slow but noticeable improvement down to -2 myopia and -1 astigmatism. Began taking lessons with my vision teacher Dr. Jerriann Taber online, who helped me go all the way back to 20/20 without glasses in less than a year. I saw how much easier and faster it worked with the help and guidance of a professional teacher, so I took her teacher training to become a certified Bates instructor myself. Started Integral Eyesight Improvement in 2013 and have been helping people improve their vision for 5 years now!

      I've read the book and it is definitely worth the money - it covers a lot of ground (not just the Bates Method but many other proven vision improvement techniques) in a lot of detail and I can vouch that Nathan's approach definitely does work - if you stick to it. Compared with the cost of a new pair of glasses or lenses, the book is a bargain.

      James Travers what are your results from using the book?

    • @jamestravers8308
      @jamestravers8308 6 лет назад +2

      Yes, within 4 weeks of using some of the techniques in the book (mostly the relaxation and vision stretching exercises) I noticed a definite improvement in my vision. 12 weeks on, I am still getting results. Nathan's book differs from others that I have seen in that the benefit of each exercise is clearly stated and accords with common sense.

    I get constant waves of clarity so something really blurry and then I experience a wiggly wave of clarity and it rolls away as quickly as it comes . Is that normal and is a flash of clarity?
    Also, I think having dry eyes prevents clarity so how does one get more moisture to the eyes? Drops don't last very long.

      Blinking will do the trick. Relax your eyes and start blinking and after a while blinking will become natural.

    • @NathanOxenfeld
      @NathanOxenfeld  6 лет назад +4

      Yes, the Bates Method is still effective even after a laser eye surgery. LASIK is just like glasses or contacts in that it just treats the symptoms of vision problems without actually addressing the underlying root cause. So even though the surgery may have helped you see better for a while, your underlying root cause might still be present, which is why the blur returns over time. Holistic eye care addresses the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual components of vision, so there is still a lot of benefit possible for you.

      It is all about eye exercises to improve vision....hamari eyes me ciliary muscles hoti hai jinse eyes lens juda hota hai...jo paristhiti ke anusaar apna shape change krta hai...muscles weak ho to aisa nhi ho pata so myopia hypermetropia, astigatism...etc problem aati hain..
      Bates method eye exercises ko recommend krta hai jo eye muscles ko strong banati hain...isme stretches exercise...focusing and defocusing...palming...etc. aate hain...
