Boise took inspiration from Idaho. Go Vandals Go was first used in 1931 and Boise State was founded in 1932 as a junior college. Their fight song was written in 1940.
@@ManiacalClone It also seems to me like Stalwart Rams, the Colorado State fight song, was inspired by CU Fight. And I think I can also detect a chain of borrowing from the Washington & Lee Swing in the Spirit of VMI and a few years later in Tech Triumph.
Listened to all the fight songs you mentioned. U of Colorado, Washington and Lee, Spirit of VMI, and Virginia Tech Triumph songs. None are similar to the University of Idaho. The Colorado State fight song seems to be similar.
fyi, these band members aren't acting idiots. if you were to have watched the Vandal Marching Band preform (like football games and such), you'd have noticed they do the hips side-to-side as part of their routine !! also they can't simply just "play the music". they obviously need a way to keep the beat, so they do the hip motion in the beginning to get everyone in sync !!
also fyi, the drum line at the beginning is part of the written music, so they do the hip motion to pass the time before the band director blows the whistle for them to start the music.
Imagine trying to get some milk and a guy playing the tuba is blocking it

Why do band members have to act like idiots. Just play the music and that's it.
