10:25 when dad mentions Wicked Game i was screaming!! you need to watch her show at the hollywood bowl in oct 2019 when she brought out Chris Isaak to sing Wicked Game together!! it was very cool and unexpected but also just made so much sense
lana and kanye were actually friends before all the stuff happened with him! she said she had many inspirations for her earliest music from artists like kanye, the weeknd, and eminem because she loved hiphop and rap. But she also loved older music from artists that she mentions in her latest albums so its cool to hear the mix of influences for her in this album! I think thats why it appeals to so many people as well. Also ive been to her concert and she doesnt do muchhh dancing lol but she shows alot of personality on stage and the focus is more on the music and she plays around with her voice on many different songs too. Ultraviolence by lana next!! think yall would love her psychedelic / rock vibe.
This album will always be a cult classic. So iconic. Timeless. She was ahead of her time. So influencial. I cant wait for your ultraviolence reaction because that album is in a world of its own
Lana Del Rey quote unquote is the most influential musical artist of this century, the way this woman created her own genre, received insurmountable vilification for it only for the music industry to emulate the same by the end of the decade is the reason why she is not only the most important contemporary artist but a paradigm of representation for the music of the past for the future generations. One of the greatest musicians of all time, a radical auteur, a total maverick. An artist who has always given her artistry more levarage than commercial success. The way she refused to replicate the astronomical success of Born to Die & released Ultraviolence, a psychedelic desert rock dream pop album, is one of the reasons why I love & respect her so much. An absolute musical genius, who continuously evolves her sound.
historical abuse!! one of the biggest debuts of this century, the numbers that this album continues to make to this day, people and different artists still talk about it, its influence on most of the artists who left after this release is undeniable. composer of the century for a reason!!
Can I just say how hard this album hit back in 2012 when it was such an iconic escape from the reality of how damn poor most of us were? It was such a masterpiece and just a dream to be so engulfed in the opulence of Lana, yet it still had the relatability of the kinda grimy street scene that was closer to our actual day to day. I was in college, this album was the background music for a lot of my most questionable decisions. Love it.
Lana del Rey truly was ahead of her time. Discovering her music so early on in her career is a key memory for me I think at the time on 3 music video had been released for born to die and I discovered her through her videos. I was gobsmacked by her artistry and it stuck with me and I stuck with her through her career she is truly an artist through and through.
It was fun hearing your dad mentioning Miley at the end of Summertime Sadness. Miley covered this song in BBC live lounge! It became one of their biggest live lounge videos. I think your dad would enjoy it :) and Rina SAWAYAMA next pleaseeee!!!
Lana is legendary and she’s still alive. How blessed are we to live in this timeline where she exists at the same time. Also she’s a bridge queen… so I was devastated the bridges were skipped in your reactions
This is an unbelievable 'almost' debut album. I'm so excited they're finally listening to it! If you want another debut- I've been dying to know what Mike thinks of 'Prelude to Ecstasy' by The Last Dinner Party. I'm not sure if they've made the US yet, but it was pretty big in the UK and they've got a unique sound 😁
I have been listening to this album regularly since it dropped and I can’t believe I never realised Blue Jeans sounds like Wicked Game, what the hell. Blown my mind.
Dad said Blue Jeans reminded him of Wicked Game…Tori Amos did a cover of both songs in one it’s amazing, on RUclips. Enjoyed your reaction! Such wonderful album. Top tier.
I feel like they've already posted the video reacting to this album more than once, so this is the first time listening to one of the best albums in recent times, lets go broo
I think ride the short film and songs will wreck you guys. The poetry, the storytelling, the lyrics just everything. This album really defined the 2010s and what the pop girlies released
she's a small artist so idk if its good for a video, but on your own I really recommend listening to Sarah Kinsley! she has many great songs, and recently released a new album called Escaper! I think y'all might like some of the stuff on it
I absolutely LOVE it when you guys do an album I personally love but haven't listened through for a few years for one reason or another. and it's been happening a lot lately ❤️❤️

Lana herself said how while Taylor wants it more that anyone else, she herself kinda doesn’t care. She’s content with the amount of popularity she has and purposefully doesn’t do anything to increase it
@@calebford6318 i don’t think it’s a bad thing to want success. taylor works very hard and is open about caring deeply about charts/awards. i don’t think lana wants to put in that same amount of work which is totally fine. does she deserve it if she doesn’t work for it?? i don’t think so

Very much black and white “Happy Birthday Mr President” intro to the National Anthem video 😅

Arguably her best album in terms of music. Fuck it, lyrically as well. modernizing the 70s sound. She captures every bit of that decade in that

You need to react to "Ultraviolence" & "Honeymoon". These two albums are one of the best albums of the decades

But I also suggest Preacher's Daughter by Ethel Cain and Stick Season (Forever) by Noah Kahan :)
Ditto to preacher’s daughter!
