Dude, I've gotta be honest, this is also a super cool experience for me. It's kinda interesting to see somebody mirror what my earliest reaction journey was like. It's awesome to see this random musician I liked from RUclips shorts with not nearly enough viewers getting some loving attention from the same community that made me feel like I could do RUclips. The RENegades have always been supportive of whatever I've tried to do, have always reached out to me when my life was going through turbulence, have suggested tons of good music for me to listen to, and always promote positivity. I learned that one the hard way and, thankfully, the RENegades have always suggested songs that made me smile when I needed one. There was no possible way I could take every viewer I have and force them to listen to you as much as I wish I could, but my thought was maybe if you could find this wonderful community of people that you could develop a relationship with based on your sharing of thoughts and emotions, maybe they'd be willing to listen to your music too. I love your reactions, but I'll always be a fan of your music first.
Thanks for the beautiful message. I definitely didn't see myself becoming a reaction guy, but hey, I'm here for it. I've really enjoyed the 2 I've done so far, but my own music will always come 1st for me! I think if I continue with the reaction game id like to do a combo of music that is suggested to me and reacting to music that already inspires me to drive it back to my own music. You've made a tremendous contribution to my following and I thank you for it! Keep being awesome and thanks for the support!
@@walterooski your support for this channel is amazing I've been a long time subscriber to your channel. Sometimes I wish I could reach out to you and tell you you're not alone. You've helped me a lot also and I love your shorts about quitting weed I followed you the whole process. Thanks for your channel and the time and effort ¹ in transparency much love ¹
Walter I've been seeing your name pop up in the comments section of Ren reactions for some time now and I just wanted to point out how much I love the RenEffect and watching The power of The rising tide. I'm not having the greatest day today but discovering this channel and learning how it came to fruition has replaced my grown with a smile. I just wanted to say thank you for that
On the second watch I realized how the descending chromatic guitar riff in Violet's Tale is him rewinding time and then he fast forwards again at the end with an ascending chromatic riff. Very cool detail!
Yes. Rewinds time. Ren is our Modern wandering Minstrel & Town Crier - some say The New Shakespeare. He's not just a great musician, master lyricist, singer, rapper, actor, narrator, director, producer etc.! He's also a powerful social commentator- shining a spotlight on the socio-politico ills of our time. He is micro-intentional in everything that he does, every note, every move & every pause between. He's a perfectionist who plans and paces everything out to.the micro second and centimetre- & then rehearses (Live) till he gets a take he's happy with. He deliberately brings us right into frame to stand by, not as the audience, but to 'stand Witness! He cares & demands that we care too. Ren saw a news story about a young prostitute killed by a young street kid and was saddened & disgusted by how quickly this story slipped through and disappeared in the relentless 24/7 news cycle. It struck him that this wouldn't have happened if these had been the kids of some prominent citizens. He says; it's not OK to murmur meaningless platitudes like "Oh what a shame..." & then click away to something else. These lives Matter. As you also.point out, we do Know how innocents like Jenny, Screech & Violet get set onto pathways that lead them into becoming victims and/ or perpetrators. We know about the cycle of violence. We should be doing more to stop these tragedies. Violet's Tale he made up, BUT, I work in the welfare field here in Australia. In every country where foster care and youth hostels exist, these are vastly underfunded under resourced and kids do fall out of these faulty Safety Nets onto the streets to survive as best they can. As sex workers, as gang members, etc. It's entirely possible that siblings separated at birth could fall into a violent encounter like this. May have already happened.
Welcome to this emotional rollercoaster where Ren is the driver. He will make you happy, thoughtfull and a bit sad. I have cried over many reactions of Ren's music even that I have seen them 20-30 times before. We the Renegades love seeing new people enjoy the first time .... over and over again.
It was inspired by a short snippet in a newspaper, about a 14 year old boy, who'd been arrested for the murder of a young woman, in a knife attack. Apart from time and place, that was pretty much all the detail that was given. It made Ren sad and angry and started him thinking about what circumstances could drive a 14 year old boy to do such a thing. Even the scant details that were given were changed by Ren and the rest (99%+ of it) is from his imagination and honed by his creativity. :)
It's really upsetting what circumstances some kids have to grow up in, the world is broken, but honestly, finding the Ren community gives me hope in humanity!
Fantastic reaction brother! Right at the start you mentioned John Fruchianti (sp) .. funnily enough he was one of Rens major influences. He shouts him out in his song Power - which is a banger, you should definitely check it out.
Ren has said John Fruciante is the reason he began guitar. For healing ,he goes to Before the Begining. He would absolutely love to do a collaboration with him. ..his greatest inspiration.
@@francesdoll4039 oh yeah thanks that's what i wanted to add - if i'm not mistaking Ren actually said Before the Beginning was his favorite music! (a music that is by the way directly inspired by / an homage to a similar piece called Maggot Brain, by Funkadelic, which i highly recommend too, it is soooo good!!! considered as one of the best guitare solo of all time!)
Well, the first thing i need to do is check out YOUR music! As a Renegade, it is important to support you and what you create. Ren has stimulated a rebirth of creativity in so many people who have been silenced by mental and physical illness. After listening to him and realizing he is self taught, so many reactors have been inapired to begin their art again. I hope he helps you on your path as well. He is such a great guy; funny, kind, intelligent. Vulnerable humble and ambitious. Sharing his steuggles means so much to many of us.
Thank you for saying this! And thanks for checking out my music, honestly, I was very close to giving up on music, especially as I was fighting addiction, but the last year I've gotten clean and started really taking music seriously again, I'm so grateful to anyone taking the time to listen!
@wynandfouriemusic think we all understand struggle in this group. So happy to shine some light on you! Loved on Rooskie too! Ren struggled with addiction as well. Prescribed Diazeoam abd had a awful time getting off of it. Made a song about it! You could react ro that
Ren is the Original "Bardcore Genre Bender" The Master Bard himself ( Shakespeare ) would have understood exactly where Ren was coming from. Ren isn't just a songwriter but rather a Performance Art Master who blends music and character acting from all the styles over the last 500 years and makes it modern and relatable to all generations even if normally you may not be a fan of whatever genre he is currently performing. While most good Performers can envoke some emotions in their audience, Ren is an Emotion Master who has control of all of them, From the Feel Good Vibes of Bongo Bong, to the Rebellion of Illist Of Our Time, to the Tragedy of Jenny and Screech, to the Mind Bending Rap Flow of Losing It, and the Internal Psych War of Hi Ren, Ren has it All! The Ren Rabbit Hole is Deep and Powerful! Get Ready for the Ride of your Life
I’m late to your channel and reactions, but damn. Memories flooding back in of discovering Ren. Exact same trajectory. Myself and a few friends went down the rabbit hole starting with Hi Ren then moving onto the tales. Fuck was it a revelatory experience. REN has single-handedly reinvigorated my passion for music. Him, Måneskin and Prof. All gave me something I was missing in new music for a very very long time.
Renegade salute from Germany! Love musicians reacting to other musicians. For me, if you want to grab your guitar in the middle of a reaction - go for it! Seeing inspiration strike is half the joy of the Ren-reactions 😘 There's an opera singer who layers her own voice live as a background track over the entire song. There's a reactor who does a piano or guitar improvisation on the songs theme at the end. Michael Goyette analyses and recreates the chords on his guitar and explains the technicalities. Love all their work.
@@wynandfouriemusic That's true, there's so many reactors who don't add anything. As a musician, and a pretty good one as well (since I've started to go down your rabbit hole as well!), you can certainly add more than many. I, for one, would not mind one bit if you got your guitar out or otherwise joined in! As long as you do justice to the song you listen to and give your honest opinion (we really don't mind if you don't like everything!), most of us are there for the creative reactors. Hell, do a 30 minute reaction and play one of your songs and explain what it means and how it came about, many of us would be here for it.
Looks like we have a RENegade in the making!!😁Great reaction I have subbed for your Ren journey buckle up its amazing down the 🐰🕳Greetings from a Canadian RENegade🍁💙
Our boi can go anywhere he wants to express with his voice and master the guitar to his will. 😀. Genre defying. Genius. Praying for his health, and I don’t pray.
Ren is a modern day bard painting such vivid imagery with his storytelling that it pulls you in and forces you to keep watching - even when it gets physically uncomfortable during Violet’s Tale. And Ren uses this ability to shed light on far too real issues in the world. Ren is special. And the renegades are a force of love and support 😂 But it’s all because that is exactly what this man inspires. Watch his 1m subscribers video on defining success to understand what I mean ❤
I really liked how you first thought that Ren was linked to Screetch because you didn’t go straight to the latter as evil. You remembered that he was only 14 yrs too. Shows the kind of guy you are, man. Enjoyed it. Thanks ❤
I signed up because I see this as a good way to meet real artists. I avoid the traps of the industry and I believe that this is how independent art can spread. It's a perfect way for a rekator to react and draw attention to another artist. Ren can be an inspiration to people, artists and viewers in many ways.
@somogyieva RUclips seems to be giving independent artists that avenue of discovery! The Ren community seems to be made up of people with a deep appreciation for music from all genres
Definitely enjoying your Ren journey! Just had to get in here and say be careful about laying all the therapy and action on Violet to save herself. That’s not how that psychology generally functions for someone coming out of that childhood. Few people can hoist themselves; they need help that usually is not there or is conditional or unsustainable. If we’re saying she needs to work on herself, let’s also state the obvious and say that the men are either beyond help or need help or need reporting or jailing or SOMEthing, you know? Also you may think this and possibly were rattled just a teeny bit by the intense video art you were watching at the time 😂❤. I’m definitely watching your Power take next!
Hi thank you for saying this and you are absolutely right. When I watched it back I honestly thought of cutting that part out because who the fuck am I to comment on what someone in that situation should be doing, and yes I think I didn't comment on the men needing help because in my mind they are beyond help, which might also not be true. In the end I left it in because I thought it might spark conversation around the issues and that in turn creates more awareness, so I really appreciate your comment, THANK YOU!
Read the comments just to see if something like this had been said! Almost angry-unsubbed but made myself continue bc I really enjoyed the reaction to Hi Ren. I yelled "what about some therapy for Stevie?!" It's sad that people's gut reaction tends to be victim blaming and either ignoring the perpetrator or assuming there's just nothing to be done about it, like domestic violence is just a fact of life. Very glad to see Wynand's response, and he showed a lot of integrity keeping it in.
@bethray469 Thank you for not unsubbing, this was also my 2nd reaction and ive learned a lot just from doing more of these and reading the comments. Not my best moment in this video, but it's what came out in the moment and I think id rather be honest and genuine, even if it means I need to be called out and grow myself, which I have. The Renegades have made me a better person already and Im so grateful 🙏 Thank you for adding to this and speaking up, I appreciate you 🙏
Well done, you're in the 1% of reactors that got it. Well done and spot on buddy, You wouldn't believe the number of reactors that I've seen with that information, and it just went right over their heads.!! just swept over their heads.!! You, my man, picked that up instantly.! We call these tales "Bard core.".. A genre of the world of Ren.!!! And only Ren can do this genre.!!! I'm glad you enjoyed them. Uk Renagade here. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇬🇧👍🤙✌️👌
I don't blame them honestly! It's a lot to take in! I watched it a second time on my own and damn did i miss a lot of details! But I feel like Ren's music isn't a 'once off' kind of experience, you come back to it to see a little bit more of the picture each time! Maybe that's why these reaction videos do so well on YT, because fans of Ren just want more and more pieces of the puzzle!
@wynandfouriemusic oh I totally agree. Even I learn more from every re-listen to Rens tunes.. Especially the fast rap stuff he does, I listened to those tracks over and over, and I can tell you it feels like an achievement once you got all bars nailed down. Rinse repeat and learn. 🇬🇧🏴🇬🇧👌✌️🤙👍🍻
Hi fella. I don't know your music yet, I'm here for the Ren reactions. You've lucked out connecting with a beautiful group of passionate, positive people. 'Renegades' is a bit twee, I'll never label myself as such, but collective nouns can be weird. Good work sunshine, I'll check your choons out. Another sub....
I'm rewatching this after love's healing and it's so fun to see you comment on not knowing much about Ren but seeing his fans being enthusiastic. It was such a short time from this until now but such a big journey that I've loved watching.
Welcome to the wonderful world of REN, our lyrical genius and beautiful soul. Subbed to follow your Ren journey. Hullo from another South African living in the US and a Renegade for 2 years now ❤
Ive watched so many of these reactions to Hi Ren, but you showed me two new things today I had not noticed! The sound change when he walks into the corridor and how it changes the feel of the song, and how the camera goes from out of focus to in focus as he folds her eyelids up. Count on my sub
Ok so my sunday evening is now watching your Ren reactions with a cuppa tea . Found you earlier from your song for Ren, was so touching i loved it and i hope Ren gets better. 15 years is too long to be extremely poorly. If you're a supporter of Ren you will now hve all the Renegades on your team 😂😂🫶🫶❤❤
Hi im a renegade from western North Carolina. The renegades are faithful and we show love to those who support ren. My favorite song is chalk outlines freckled angles and the tale of jenny and screech. You should check out his busking videos. The money game videos are another amazing story . I have not found 1 song i dont love. Welcome to the world of ren. You will never hear anyone like him. 😊😊😊😊😊
It's a hard one. But it's so good. The three parts were created some time apart. The first one was inspired by a news article Ren had come across. I believe the article finished with "and it's such a shame"
You’re the first reactor I’ve seen that’s asked if Screech is him. He’s actually said Screech is an exaggerated version of him when he was young. You dived right in the deep end starting with this trilogy 😏, but I really like your reaction style, intelligent and considered. I hope you enjoy the journey, it’s a real rollercoaster, Ren is quite the individual ❤
The tales always makes me think of the Cape flats .... it's the story of a lot of South-Africans. Just found your channel and going through your catalogue...welcome to the RENeverse❤
Here's the background you asked for. Some years ago a 14 year old boy mugged a 14 year old hooker and stabbed her, Ren read about it and thought what if they were related then made this trilogy. Ren has so many layers, from the visuals to using the guitar and his voice in so many ways. For example the intro guitar part in screeches tale is literally screech fleeing the crime scene and getting out of breath. Not to mention all the beautiful word plays like the lady shaped stalactite. Nice reactions btw, love your laid back style and voice. Keep it up 👌
Violets tale, god damn. What a masterpiece of musicianship and acting. I hope he’s able to fulfill his dream of making. Hybrid plays/elaborate music videos. Dude is such an insanely talented individual. Him and Sam could make some truly impactful content if given the budget. Money Game 3, oooo god damn is that a brilliant piece of art on so many levels, story telling, lyricism, simple musicianship and the fucking cinematography. Fuck is it gorgeous and to do it with 2 cuts live! LIVE! That’s some next level god tier shit.
Jennys tale was prompted by a newspaper story and people saying its such a shame then a few months later came Screeches tale then it was nearly 2 years later he released Violets tale tying it all together. Masterpiece.
Jenny and Screech’s tales were written prompted by REN reading the newspaper article about a 14-year old street walker killed by a young guy in 2019 but Violet’s tale, which links everyone together, was written a few years later.
So many details to pay attention to in this one. Definitely not an unrehearsed cough at the beginning. He's portraying a minstrel. The "trumpet" sound is a semi-occluded vocal warm-up technique or lip trill. So he warms up his voice & clears his throught before he begins his performance.
One of the things that I like about Ren is his variation, he always switches up, to the point where he often does not use a hook. And yet we are hooked. Not scared to go out of his comfort zone. I think you should listen to Ready For You... a great example of Ren using his voice to switch it up.
"Who is Violet?" Can't count the times I have heard that . Great reaction and love the additional musical commentary . For something lighter, try anything by The Big Push a band Ren plays with or Power , Back on 74 so many other choices 💚💚💚
I'm definitely going to check out your music but I can't stop myself from watching your Renactions so it will happen after I finish or can stop myself long enough to start on your original music 🎶😂🤘🏼🔥⚡💜 Did you know there's an AI song about the Richard, the cop? Also an alternate tale of Jenny and Screech by AI as well
I hear you about the violence in South Africa. I'm American and visited a friend who lived in Johannesburg. She took me on the grand tour of your country, including Cape Town. But one night,in Mpumalanga we stayed out late, got very drunk and by the time we got back to our hostel(The Funky Monkey lol) the gate was closed and locked. We had driven around lost for over an hour then had to climb the wall to get into the hostel. I was oblivious to the danger we were in,but my friend was a nervous wreck. Her fear is what scared me,not the actual danger of roaming the streets, drunk at 2 a.m.........I learned A LOT from the 3 months I spent in your BEAUTIFUL country.....
hey there are lots of layers and hidden gems in almost every Ren Production this one has an interesting clue from one section to another remember Screech was 14 the age he told us and Violets tale is set in 2005 the song was released in 2019 {14 years later}.
@@wynandfouriemusic I grew up wae it but haven't repeated the cycle, which I'm quite proud of, looking forward to your next reaction buddy love from Scotland 👍🏻🏴

LOL, I loved your Boondock Saints reference @5:18 Sub'd for the Ren rabbithole you're about to go on. You can't go in a wrong direction, just enjoy the ride.
The Renaissance world will be here shortly. So much to see from Ren and the band he was in with his talented band members called The Big Push. they did covers and wrote their own songs. Romain, Ren , Gorran and forgive me I've forgotten the drummers name. Romain is French and to hear this check out Bongo Bong from the big push. English man in new York, one of their own songs is Swan song , written by Gorran. Anyway so much to choose from as well as Romains own channel
I've been subbed to Walter's channel for a long time. I love his reactions and his authentic self. Thanks for mentioning him love the reaction immediately subbed
OMG... just started listening and as soon as I heard you speak about your passion for John Frusciante 's playing... I started grinning. Ren was so into JF, he self taught himself watching JF. I'm pretty sure he mentions it in an interview somewhere.
Well done bud, I'm a renegade and currently building him a guitar. It's unfortunately a true story that he read in a newspaper they provide on public transport called the metro. 😢 You've got a new subscriber as you actually know what you're talking about unlike some of the ren reactors.
@wynandfouriemusic no problem dude, I'll be watching your channel. Hopefully my guitar will appear at some point. It's gonna be pretty special, east Indian rosewood either an engelmann spruce or western red cedar top, mahogany neck with mammoth tusk nut and saddle. Got some pretty special rosewood or ebony for the fretboard and I generally use paua inlays as they have a bit more character than white mop which I have plenty of that is made with a local shellfish called an ormer but is essentially a type of abalone. You can only collect them on certain days when there's a big tide due to the full moon and pretty sure it's only in the winter months. Jersey; where I'm based has the 3rd biggest tidal range in the world, after Hudson bay Canada and the Bristol channel in the UK.

@krystalIvy1996 Sorry I should have listened to the beginning all I heard was later on him saying he didn't know anything about Ren. I will check before speaking next time.
you rolled a nat20 with the decision of giving Ren reactions a go... he's a great artist, and a believer that a rising tide lifts all ships, so his success and that of reactors are closely tied together.
@@wynandfouriemusic I almost commented before I even watched the video to ask where you got it from! Love the shirt and feel the sentiment deeply, lol.
@bethray469 😅 It's from a local South African store called Geekware. They actually sponsored my D&D channel with some free merch, the top was one of the items and I instantly claimed it! The channel is called Tabletop Troup if you'd like to see me play some D&D haha. Unfortunately it flopped but hey, at least we tried
@@wynandfouriemusic Nice, I'll check it out! I was part of a group that tried to do a live gaming podcast several years ago and woof it's hard, lmao. At least for me, knowing that I was being recorded made it that much harder to really get into my character and contribute without feeling put on the spot. Plus it was a big, boisterous group overall and the usual side (in character) conversations and things like banging on the table to emphasize a point and whooping excitedly were frowned upon by the DM (who didn't edit the podcast so you could hear him constantly chastise us for doing things "wrong"). It was a hot mess and I didn't even listen to it myself, lol.
Hey! Great reactions. And for what it's worth, the original single video of Violet's Tale, is actually a half step higher, and a smidge faster. I actually prefer this slightly slower and a half step lower version since it better matched the mood and gravitas of the song.
Great reaction man. You mentioned if there were any other artists we may want you to react to. Have you ever heard of Asaf Avidan? Very interesting artist with a beautifully strange voice. Ren seems to be a fan of his work.. Incredible artist as far as im concerned... Check out "In a Box iii - 900 Days" its a great song to start on. Peace ✌🏻
Little info about Ren that I post on every new reactor! He is self taught on piano and guitar. With ONE MILLION SUBSCRIBERS - Defining success video you can see what kind of person Ren is. He fights with health issues from age of 19 and for the first 7 years doctors misdiagnosed and treated him with all kind of pills for bipolar and other mental problems while the whole time he has Lyme disease, when he finds out after those 7 years, he already have big damage to his body and have develop autoimmune diseases because his Lyme hasn't been treated many years! He is in Calgary for treatment trying to fix his body even now! With his song "Troubles'' you can learn more about a part of his journey. With his work he brings messages to the people and he is trying to make the world a better place!!!🙂
@AnitaTsenova Thank you for the insight. He speaks about the autoimmune disease in Hi Ren, but I didn't know it's lyme disease! He's clearly gone through a lot and it's very empowering to think about the reach he gained and the lives he's touching
Hello, Thank you very much for this great reaction. You picked up so many details from this first hearing and you were really authentic describing what you felt. I really appreciated watching this. Cheers mate ! 🙂
Perhaps to see a bit different side of Ren check out him with his band The Big Push doing a mashup of "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/HipHop" *THE ONE WITH RED SUSPENDERS* (The band had to disband in 2022 so Ren could go to Canada for specialized treatments which lasted 18 months; only got a few months back home & he is now back in Canada again as he relapsed). Another cool one is his arrangment of 5 EDM songs by Fred Again into a great acoustic performance. Fred Again Mashup. For Jazzy/soul Ren, check out The Big Push "Wade in the water Nina Simone / Trouble so hard" so good - Ren is on Bass. For Smooth R&B/Soul check out his Retake-Mashup of " Back on 74 / Message in a Bottle." So good! He made an original Hip Hop album Sick Boi that got #1 in the U.K. as an independent last year - lots of great songs. His next one he is working on is going to be an original guitar & singing based album.
After those two reactions it’s time to switch gears and look at something that’s a little bit lighter. You have many options in Ren’s world. I suggest that you take a look at his former band The Big Push. the songs ‘Icarus’, ‘Bongo Bong’, ‘Praise You’, and ‘Sweet Little Lady’ are my suggestions. Enjoy!

What I love the most in these, is the intros. They tell the story that follows. At least for me they tell.
Your right the guitar at the start of screechs tale sounds like someone running away reminds me of Flight of the bumblebee
Nearly all Ren's work requires a few listens/watches to catch everything. There are so many layers.
@@garysherwin3316Yes, very few pick this up, but it's intended to be the desperately running feet of Screech fleeing the scene of his crime.
I'm at minute 5 and you're like "maybe there is a romance forming between Jenny and Screech?" My sweet sweet summerchild. That made me laugh 😃
@@MaleficaWitch 🤣🤣🤣
Omg! Me too and I had to go to the comments. Oh Lordy.

A life changing artist. There’s before Ren and after.
Thanks for watching, I can already tell I'm in for a wild ride!
The murdered woman was, in fact, a prostitute & an officer was quoted as saying, "It's such a shame."
@@piplevett4783 Thanks! I definitely will!
@francesdoll4039 that would be quite the colad!
Was looking for this comment thread! :) Power is such a vibe - love it!
Get Ready for the Ride of your Life
My body is ready!
That's good to know!

I'm definitely starting to see what the hype is all about!
Ill be sure to check it out!
I really liked how you first thought that Ren was linked to Screetch because you didn’t go straight to the latter as evil. You remembered that he was only 14 yrs too. Shows the kind of guy you are, man. Enjoyed it. Thanks ❤
I think it's the Sagittarius in me always trying to put myself in other people's shoes! Thanks for watching!
The Renegades have made me a better person already and Im so grateful 🙏 Thank you for adding to this and speaking up, I appreciate you 🙏
I love Walteroski!

And only Ren can do this genre.!!!

I have not found 1 song i dont love. Welcome to the world of ren. You will never hear anyone like him. 😊😊😊😊😊
Thanks! It's amazing to see how this man has moved so many people! I am inspired!
It's a hard one. But it's so good. The three parts were created some time apart. The first one was inspired by a news article Ren had come across. I believe the article finished with "and it's such a shame"
Before REN, I had never heard of or knew I needed Bardcore in my life. Such a brilliant story teller, actor & musician.
@Sdt526 Thanks for the kind words! It's interesting that he said that!
I caught that boondocks saints reference there, nicely done
Symbology! Haha it just slipped out! Love that movie!

Thanks!
The tales always makes me think of the Cape flats .... it's the story of a lot of South-Africans. Just found your channel and going through your catalogue...welcome to the RENeverse❤
It does right!? It's super heartbreaking. Thanks for going through my songs!
Keep it up 👌
Thank you. I appreciate all the insight!
Such a good story teller, I can see why they call the genre 'Bardcore'!
@@wynandfouriemusicalso he's talking about generational abuse he's so clever ❤
Jenny and Screech’s tales were written prompted by REN reading the newspaper article about a 14-year old street walker killed by a young guy in 2019 but Violet’s tale, which links everyone together, was written a few years later.
So many details to pay attention to in this one. Definitely not an unrehearsed cough at the beginning. He's portraying a minstrel. The "trumpet" sound is a semi-occluded vocal warm-up technique or lip trill. So he warms up his voice & clears his throught before he begins his performance.
Damn I didn't even think of that! Awesome!
One of the things that I like about Ren is his variation, he always switches up, to the point where he often does not use a hook. And yet we are hooked. Not scared to go out of his comfort zone. I think you should listen to Ready For You... a great example of Ren using his voice to switch it up.
There's definitely been parts of these songs stuck in my head for the last 2 days!
Nice.👍💕🦇

Wow you're building him a guitar? That's huge! Thanks for the sub and kind words!

Flight, fight, freeze, or fawn. She's a fawn.
Interesting, ive never heard of fawn! What does that mean?
@wynandfouriemusic Freeze with an added sense of innocence
@@wynandfouriemusic in the USA and other places a *fawn* is a baby deer. When danger appears the mother runs, but the fawn drops in place and freezes. The predator chases the fleeing, bouncing mom. The Fawn is completely safe. Shiuld the mother die the fawn will eventually unfreeze and seek other deer who may adopt it. At times they will arrive at the door of a human and seek help. Nature works!
Fawn in that context is actually a person who people pleases in order to avoid the conflict entirely. Jenny definitely froze.

Great reaction. I've subscribed 😊
Awesome thank you so much! Definitely gonna do more reactions, watch this space!
Ren❤❤❤❤❤
I love this trilogy from Ren!
284 now! And people, really check out Wynand's music!

🙏Please and thank you🥰
fantastic reaction👍
Thank you! More on it's way 😄
Hey! Great reactions. And for what it's worth, the original single video of Violet's Tale, is actually a half step higher, and a smidge faster. I actually prefer this slightly slower and a half step lower version since it better matched the mood and gravitas of the song.
Interesting, ill have to check out this other version as well
Welcome to the RENiverse. The Ren rabbit hole. I dare you to stop. Lol New SUB!
Thanks for subbing, this train has left the station, there's no stopping now!
You're right about the cycle of abuse. I think this cycle is represented by the spiral staircase.
Interesting detail!
Next Definitely you should check out, Chalk outline then how to be me both the live version
Which both are a collaboration between ren and chinchilla
He's had two pretty heavy ones hahaha. Let's cheer him up with some of The Big Push or something hahaha
Great break down of the songs!
@@wilko3017 Thanks! It's quite a lot to take in on the 1st go!
Here for this #RENegades
Hello,
Thank you very much for this great reaction. You picked up so many details from this first hearing and you were really authentic describing what you felt.
I really appreciated watching this. Cheers mate ! 🙂
That's really awesome to hear! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Ren is n amazing artist! Gaan kyk asb Money Game Trioligy!!!
@@minettemeintjes569 Afrikaans! Ek sal eventually by daardie trilogy uitkom! My volgende watch moet iets lig wees!
@ jaa al sy goed is pretty much diep en donker! Maar hys great!😅👌🏻
Perhaps to see a bit different side of Ren check out him with his band The Big Push doing a mashup of "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/HipHop" *THE ONE WITH RED SUSPENDERS*
(The band had to disband in 2022 so Ren could go to Canada for specialized treatments which lasted 18 months; only got a few months back home & he is now back in Canada again as he relapsed).
@majbrat Awesome im excited to dive in!
As someone who grew up in a household with an angry violent father, makes me wonder what the relationship was like between Ren's mom and dad.
Im sorry you had to go through that, after listening to the song 'Power' it doesn't seem like they had a good relationship
❤❤he is a story teller ❤❤❤❤
Eyy! i caught the dnd shirt ❤
Enjoy!
Im definitely gonna check something lighter out next, this has been an intense couple of days! Those songs sit with you...
this was based off a true story, and a lot of his videos are one takes.yes he was 14 years old.
It's so fascinating! Do you think Ren sees himself in Screech?
Nice reaction, Ren is quite something.
@doccops Indeed! I really love the way he approaches storytelling
🙏❤
