I use to love playing those handheld games back when I was a kid, should have kept them all, I see from the prices now a days. Keep up the good work and looking forward to many more videos
Very nice fix :) I have similar one screen game, but mine is made by Q&Q and it's a King Kong game. Got it as a kid for Christmas 1983 and it's still working, altough at one point it had connection problem. Ultimately I found that it just had loose battery connector and after I fixed that, it's been working reliably again for years now :)
There were some great games came out in the 80's I was a schoolboy at the time. I've repaired quite a few different games from around that time on here.
@@BuyitFixit I don't remember the highscore, but it could take hours. And at some point it won't get any faster, you just have to stay focused. It was the only one of its kind we had in my family, I wanted DonkeyKong but never got it, it was far too expensive. 😁 I'd take it in a heartbeat if I found one at a garage sale today.
Last night i went through my box of broken to look at things and was shocked at how many things I had thrown in that weren't really broken but just needed a cleaning. I say that because it seems so many things are like that from ebay.
Hi what was the solution that you have used to clean. Also your screw organizer (blue) pad looks sleek. Could you share the name or link please. Awesome video!
My very first gaming anything. I had this game and watch when I was a kid. I played this all the time, then when we got the Famicom, the game and watch was shoved in the drawer forever. I wonder where that bloody thing is now.
Magic, I used some India Pale Ale to clean the contacts on my TV Remote, it did an amazing job. (Not really, used the Alcohol stuff) I was surprised how much dirt came off it. The TV is about Third hand though.
@@BuyitFixit I know, I've seen them. The only problem is youre too cool, never get frustrated. Show us the videos you never uploaded where you threw the unrepairable items against the wall after hours of zero progress. :) Only kidding. Keep up the great work.
Nice repair, but you have the screen with the trees in backward. The helicopter shouldn't be crashing into the top of the tree. The shortest tree goes to the right.
@@BuyitFixit I don't think mine is the same model it's zelda game&watch released by Nintendo I don't think the link you sent me will work for the model I have unless the screens are the same size
Bonjour , toujour.
Im sorry but this is not the whole truth. You fixed it before making the video first and then made this video. Or maybe there are two different internals involved. Why do I say so? When you opened the game the board and the rubber wire and lcd screen came separate so easy! It would not if this was an all authentic. The board and LCD stick very well over the years.
Nice fix, good to see the polariser being replaced 👍
Thanks 👍

It’s incredible that’s chips already could be condensed in such small size back in the 80’s. Thanks for showing this.
Cheers 👍

Love the easy fixes well done nice investment
Yes, might be actually one that's on the right side lol.
Great this. I have just got a game and watch were the stand is loose. Looks easy to take apart..cheers
You're welcome, glad you found it useful 👍
Oh boy, I remember this from 81-82
Many hours have been spent on it. 😁
After some time it gets really fast. 🙂

Thanks. IPA isopropyl alcohol. Just search silicone repair mat or similar on Google images I'm sure you will find it 👍

Watching from Philippines,,is it same polarizer with the DMG?
I think the DMG would have a larger polarizer.
Way too easy. I like the head scratcher repairs and then that eureka moment after some frustration. :)
I've had quite a few of those too..problem is when you buy faulty stuff from Ebay you never know what you're going to get.

😂😂😂Thanks Rory Rory, there's some things I cant fix, like the cricut vinyl cutter for instance
@@BuyitFixit Nobody could have fixed that vinyl cutter. Nobody.
Great fix. Should be a good profit
Thanks j s👍
How much is a polariser? Where do you buy them from?
I got the one for this from eBay: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255940799931
Vintage Nintendo game and. Watch simple. EBay fix

Thanks 👍and thanks for letting me know. I'll have to have another look at it 👍
What screwdriver do you need to open up a Game and Watch for the outside and inside of it?
I think it was just a small Philips or cross head, but it was a while ago so I can't be sure.
I have the Legend of Zelda Game&Watch where do you get replacement screen amazon and ebay?
It was the polarizer I changed (from eBay) www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255940799931 hope that helps.

Where do you find parts for these things?
I managed to find the new polariser on eBay.
had one 👍👍
..also used to reverse the screen on my calculator back in the day (black background/grey text)- impressed my friends anyway 😊
Yes, I remember the corsa clocks were like that with a backlight behind them.
Hi would like to know how to set the timer ?
I managed to find the instructions for you handheldempire.com/manuals/9_1467240130362.pdf

Hi what cleaner can be used?
I just used some isopropyl alcohol.
Tried plenty but never had any screen characters improve by cleaning a zebra contact.
The only thing I can think is that the liquid crystal may have leaked from parts of the display?

Perhaps the previous owner opened it? Or had someone else look at it? You never know the history of an item when you buy something from Ebay.
