    For shooting out of box blinds over large fields, I like the idea of the Precision fore stock and the Hunter butt stock. I prefer a flatter fore stock for resting on a window frame for shots out of a blind.

    When you were shooting off the bench, at the beginning of the video... that rifle was bouncing around a lot - as much or more than my Finnlight in 7mm Mag does and you were shooting a 308... what was your impression of the recoil compared to other 308s you may have shot (like a T3X or an Xbolt)???

    • @IntotheMountains
      @IntotheMountains  4 года назад +3

      I can compare very well to those mate. I have shot tikkas and fin lights in most calibres for a long time. I’d say felt recoil was very typical. No surprises. To be honest I don’t hold onto the rifle much at all and I’m light framed. My 7 mm thumps me! 😂

    I have 2 TRGs and a sako varmint 308 laminated, I looked at the s20 but there seemed to be no warmth to it and i thought it was a little on the light side, I'm sure it has phenomenal accuracy but I'm very happy with the sako varmint laminated I chose over the s20, I'm also not a fan of plastic magazines or parts on firearms.

    I had high hopes with my initial impressions of this rifle. I just don't know how this is 'modular' and 'future proofed' when it doesn't have a removable barrel system? 🤔 Seems like you are just buying into a proprietary stock/chassis system, and you don't get any of the 'nice' features of the sako 85 action, like top feeding mag so it missed the mark for me. Let's see a stock done for the sako 85... I'm guessing the action is a different footprint though.

    From my humble point of view, over time, Sako is making rifles increasingly ugly and cheap.
    I am a Sako user for more than 30 years, from L691, going through 75 and 85 models.
    what a pity
    -- Stock plastic shells instead of carbon fiber ones. Very very cheap.
    -- incomplete picatinny rail, prevents the use of Sphur mount, or the shorter scopes as S&B ultra short models.
    -- old barrels, Sako keeps old twist rates, that don´t allow the use of heavy for the caliber bullets. (250gn Hornady .30 as example).

      I love the classics and the new ones. I have a Blaser R8 Professional success, some custom Tikkas and Remys. I'm still thinking that with the S20 Sako takes several steps back. The S20 could be a new Tikka model not a Sako. I think I'm right. Several videos of the initial presentation of the S20 have closed the comments. The new rifle has not been well received. they created a lot of expectations in vain.

    • @IntotheMountains
      @IntotheMountains  4 года назад +2

      Velvet Velvet I suppose everyone has a different opinion on this but the sales speak for themselves. This rifle has been very well received. In fact pre orders have come in way over expectations and they have globally now rushing to supply. It would seem it may not be your cup of tea but the market sako are targeting are buying up big. I’d take this rifle over an R8 success any day of the week and keep the change. Also on the tikka note, you do realise that sako and tikka are not one in the same right?
