@ToyGalaxy all three of the wave 2 figures are showing up, deadeye duck, stealth mission bucky, and most relevant to you (cause translucent) astral projection jenny are showing up.
Zayre’s. Now that’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time. I remember poking a hole a 2 liter of pop with a safety pin in my local store. Thinking back, I feel bad for whomever had to clean that up. As usual, top notch angst, Dan. I didn’t even know there was an invis Phantom Ranger figure.
Love when you do these videos, it's very entertaining and interesting. Those of us who've been following you on social media for a bit now aren't very surprised by any of these choices. We all know Warduke is gonna be number one and that there's gotta be a Boba somewhere lol
Always a delight to watch these videos every year, Dan! I sympathize with your yearly plight so much 😅! But, maaaan, did you break my heart taking out Wicket and Clawful! All good, anyways! Thank you for your videos!
Zayre! Man what blast from the past! Really digging the Micronauts/Microman homage figure. Think I'm going to check that out! Gotta tell you, Dan, This would be a really tough proccess for me to handle. Everything I have would be in the top ten. I just love toys! LOL! I think you're doing well so far. Looking forward to Part 3 in a few months
As a collector with limited amount of shelf space I appreciate and empathize with this process as I go through it far to often... it breaks my heart to have to bin something.
Always fun seeing these videos! I'm not sure, but I think right now my top ten is: the NECA Zog, Powertown Wrestling Bruiser Brody, MotU Origins Grizzlor, WWE Ultimate Edition Bret Hart, NECA ALF, MotU Origins Mekaneck and Road Ripper, Batman Classic TV Egghead, GI Joe Classified Storm Shadow, NECA Deluxe Ultimate ET, and Powertown Wrestling Lou Thesz. The TMNT 3 and Mirage sets, WWE Superstars Mr. T, SDCC Muhammad Ali, Coliseum Collection Roddy Piper, and a number of Universal Monsters all have a good shot at making their ways in whenever I can get them. 🙂
Yay! I thought I was the only person whose favorite dinosaur is the ankylosaur! My Mom worked at a Zayre in the mid-80’s. Oh that sweet employee discount, lol.
@jesseperry9602 funny you say it like that. When you line up all 5 colors of The Hidden they do have a Power Rangers vibe. I call them the Micro Rangers.
@betaraybob wow, never even considered that. I always think of Voltron and Ultraman as being the inspiration for what the Power Rangers did, but I can certainly see some Micro Man in there too
Came here for a English video that also compares it Marvel Legends. You didn’t disappoint. This Hibernation Chamber has so many uses. Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy cloning vats, Weapon X testing chamber etc. I could go on and on. Just happy it’s so cheap

14:25 whoaaaa haven't heard *_Zayre_* stores mentioned in a long time!! I remember Caldors & Bradlees was relatuvely close to where I grew up, but on one of the rare occasions we went to distant areas & stopped at a Zayre, was the *_ONLY_* time I saw a M.A.S.K. Goliath in store. Someone opened the box and there were pieces of the vehicle scattered throughout the aisle, and me and my paper route money was really contemplating trying to scavenge the parts and buying it. I didn't, because I didn't know what "all the parts" actually were. I went decades without that set before buying it loose as an adult ~10years ago.
It came out of the gate weird, for sure. I grabbed He-Man, Scareglow and God Skeletor from Revelations and assumed I was done with the line. Oh have things have changed.
Dan, I love the passion you have for action figures. I'm not an action figure guy; my thing on RUclips is classic rock review and criticism. However, I love watching videos from people who are really enthusiastic about anything. It's infectious - you think, "Hey, maybe I need to try that and see if it ignites a passion in me, too!" So, I've ordered some Joy Toys Warhammer 40K figures. I'm sure that I'll enjoy just owning and displaying them, and we'll see if anything happens beyond that. I'm a few years older than you and Micronauts were my toy. I was 9 when Star Wars hit theaters in 1977 and was, naturally, a Star Wars Fanatic. You would think that I would have loved the Kenner toys, but actually I hated them. I thought that compared to Micronauts, Star Wars toys were terrible. No articulation, no interchangeable parts, they were inferior in every way except for branding.
These are always so fun to watch if not a bit nerve wracking because I can feel your pain lol. But this also taught me that the AWOK Atreiu came out this year. I had that figure gifted to me earlier in the year and I thought it came out at the end of last year for some reasons so I omitted it from my mid-year list. The line so good but that figure in particular took me so much by surprise that I'm rooting for it to go the distance on your list haha.
I have no real connection to Spiral at all but I had to get her because she's just such a beautiful looking figure. Definitely the first time a six armed character doesn't look wonky as all hell. At least that I've seen. For Marvel.

Mafex Conan the Destroyer 2. Jada Fei Long 1. Mafex Nightwing I made some of the same mods. Using the Fwoosh swords with Spiral and marauders with StormShadow. I am surprised that the adventure series Indiana Jones made the cut. He’s so frustrating… you can’t push the mushroom head pegs back in once they are out. But I love the Boss fight skeletons and Boreus mythic legions.
Oh I haven't had any issues with my Indy other than that belt strap for the whip. It's the only figure I'm getting from the line. The fact that it's a nice looking, modern Indiana Jones figure is doing all the heavy lifting. Even if it isn't perfect.
Boba Fett practically begging to be cut falling over so much. 😂 Hooray for Hammond rep on the top 10! Metriacanthosaurus is probably your best bet on a combatant should you want any in the future.
Nice. I'm just starting to collect figures. I will collect joy toy figures, vehicles,Mechs, and diorama displays. 2. Mythic and cosmic legions.3 Valverse, figures, and vehicle.4. AWOK figures 5 Star Wars figures, vehicles, diorama sets. 6 Operation Monster force figures 7. Horror figures and display sets 8. 12"GI Joe figures, vehicles ect...
Must admit that when I saw the initial line up for this video my first thought was "were there no Boba Fetts released this year?". But it turns out he was just hiding.
Love your arguments with the invisible critic, "Get off my back!". I'm hoping the HISS leaves treadmarks on the "also ran" as it rolls to a respectable spot in the next quarter, or end of the year. Also, I'm not sure what's in the New England water these days (Buzz-Off beat out Clawful and Two-Bad?), but keep doing what you're doing. Fun stuff!
Lol. It's fun to pretend like this stuff matters. I take it WAY too seriously. I can almost guarantee you that both Buzz Off and Clawful will make my 2023 Final Yearbook photo at the end.
My favorite figure of the year arrived in March. The Mithril Action Studio 1/12 Guardian of the Horde. Shortly after that I received Mezco Predator, Ghost Rider, and Conan. Yeesh it’s been an expensive first half.
So we’re all in agreement that we want a toy galaxy crew neck breast pocket tee with “WAR DUKE FOREVER” on the back, around a giant war duke face, and a sword on the breast pocket, right?

Ice Man is the best looking figure of that character in recent years. Tough choices. Wow Skystriker out for now. Surprised. I think the current top ten is pretty solid.
A tiny bit shocked no GI Joe made it, but at the same time I am looking over what I got for the past couple months and nothing really thrilled me. think 2nd half of year will be much better with Joe releases.
I don't even have Torpedo in hand yet and I can almost guarantee he will be in the final 10 for the year. Plus I'm going to have to make a decision about that Haslab HISS tank soon.
@@ToyGalaxy i keep forgetting about the HISS. And I agree that Torpedo is probably my most wanted for the next couple months, and Snowjob looks pretty awesome too.
"Ah yes, Mr Larson... you've indicated on your forms that you do NOT collect Masters of the Universe, nor do you collect vehicles. Well, it seems your recent lab tests have produced some very... interesting results. Anything you'd care to revise?" Anyways... that Buzz Off is on my top ten list of things to acquire! Was he secretly, for all these years, always been the best of us??

@@ToyGalaxy I can't say I'm a huge Turtle fan, not like others I know. But some of the Mirage TMNT figures are really nice. Hitting the right notes for me.
Did that display stand come with Spiral? It looks like a Heroscape tile piece. (I'm not a fan of Heroscape the game, but the tiles are great for playing BattleTech on)
Top figures so far: 1. Pandora (Action Force) 2. Alf (NECA) 3. King Hiss (Masters of the Universe Origins) 4. Buzz-Off New Eternia (Masters of the Universe Masterverse) 5. Blue Senturion (Power Rangers Lightning Collection) 6. Warduke (NECA - Dungeons & Dragons) 7. Android Body Krang (The Loyal Subjects Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) 8. Eclipse (Action Force) 9. Shovel Knight (Good Smile Company - Nendoroid)
@@ToyGalaxy What good figures do. ;) I have Saurozoic Warriors Triax Skiver coming and I've been tempted on the Skeletons (the Cowboy has me most excited) so the year still has a way to go for surprises/disappointments.
I would love for this to be his reintroduction as a regular action figure and get him at a bunch of different scales in different styles. Time will tell.
Glenn absolutely your list is lacking except for the buzzoff. If you haven't grabbed ahold of a jada toys streetfighting action figure then you've lost your grip, and all that you've learned from your years and years and years of nerdness. Very unfartworthy Glenn 😂❤
@ToyGalaxy I understand... Can't buy everything. Tons of figures out there. I got this on a whim, but man I was absolutely blown away when I opened it up. Wired tail, wired cloth goods, changeable faceplates, super detailed paint and sculpts, plus really beautiful packaging. I think its the best figure the 4H have done in a long time.
@@ToyGalaxy yep. It was such a bad experience that I can’t support them again. The figure was bad too. I just threw it out. You’ve peaked my interest on the Warduke figure though. Love that style of figure.
Dan...honestly we would think less of you if you pretended you WEREN'T a mark for that Kenner colored Boba Fett. Lol Not for nothing, but i dont like the character of Spiral, i dont collect Marvel Legends, and 6 inch is not my preferred scale, but my god that figure is just amazing! One last thing, if the Skystriker doesnt find its way back into the Top 10 I'll be very surprised!
I don't think I'll even have bought 10 toys total by the end of the year, but I know Legacy Armada Prime would be way high up there if I had, and he hasn't even arrived yet.
If you have Ollie's in your area, they have the Boss Fight studios Bucky O Hare figs (5.99) and a lot of Marvels legends (9.99)
For years we didn't have one in my area, but I checked the other day and it looks like there's one just an hour away. Will check it out soon!
@ToyGalaxy all three of the wave 2 figures are showing up, deadeye duck, stealth mission bucky, and most relevant to you (cause translucent) astral projection jenny are showing up.
My area only got bucky and deadeye. I bought 2. 2 for play and 2 for keeps
Never thought I'd see an Alf action figure again, and in one of your top ten. Thats great!
I always watch these and end up wanting a Warduke. I should order one.

I mention it in the video but you might not have heard me explain it. It's from the first wave of Avenger movie Marvel Legends back in 2010 I believe.
@@ToyGalaxy I did indeed miss it in the video, thanks Dan and @jameslin3132
Fyi Slap a 2000x Clawful head on your Clawful.... Looks even More Awesome!!!
Oh I don't mind the current head at all. A nice balance between the vintage/200x/MOTUC.
Top figures so far:
1. Pandora (Action Force)
2. Alf (NECA)
3. King Hiss (Masters of the Universe Origins)
4. Buzz-Off New Eternia (Masters of the Universe Masterverse)
5. Blue Senturion (Power Rangers Lightning Collection)
6. Warduke (NECA - Dungeons & Dragons)
7. Android Body Krang (The Loyal Subjects Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)
8. Eclipse (Action Force)
9. Shovel Knight (Good Smile Company - Nendoroid)
Oh we have some overlap. Nice!
@@ToyGalaxy What good figures do. ;) I have Saurozoic Warriors Triax Skiver coming and I've been tempted on the Skeletons (the Cowboy has me most excited) so the year still has a way to go for surprises/disappointments.
Today I learned that I’ve been mispronouncing ankylosaurus my whole life.
Don't trust me. I might be pronouncing it wrong.
@@ToyGalaxy I now realize that the way I was pronouncing it doesn’t even match the spelling. I was saying “anklyosaurus.”
I like Warduke but really wished he was 1/12
I would love for this to be his reintroduction as a regular action figure and get him at a bunch of different scales in different styles. Time will tell.
Top 5
Mdlx Nemesis Prime
Warduke
Casey jones as the phantom
Ultimate April O'Neil (cartoon)
Indiana Jones
Did you remname toy galaxy too to dan Larson
Glad to see one of the Boss Fight Epic Skeletons making the grade! Hope you like my art on the packaging, Dan.
Once Origin's Snake Mountain comes into play.......all other things will loose.
For me? No. I don't own any playsets and don't plan to get any.
Glenn absolutely your list is lacking except for the buzzoff. If you haven't grabbed ahold of a jada toys streetfighting action figure then you've lost your grip, and all that you've learned from your years and years and years of nerdness. Very unfartworthy Glenn 😂❤
Don't sleep on the Monkey King!
You know... it looks great but I didn't get it. Something about it just wasn't working for me. And with prices being what they are I need to be sure.
Why no Jada toys street fighter Ryu or FEI long? Those are great figures!
I'm an MK guy.
After the debacle of the Larry Hama Kickstarter figure, I’ll never EVER buy anything from Fresh Monkey Fiction
Your prerogative of course.
Lol
Not for nothing, but i dont like the character of Spiral, i dont collect Marvel Legends, and 6 inch is not my preferred scale, but my god that figure is just amazing!
One last thing, if the Skystriker doesnt find its way back into the Top 10 I'll be very surprised!
It's going to be a tough call. Might come down to the fact that it just won't fit in my final team photo at the end of the year.
Loved at the end Boba Fett just leaned back into the other figures like he was tired and over standing there.
Thanks for reminding me I need to rip-off , er, I mean also do my top 10 video
No worries, dude. I didn't invent Top 10 lists. 😄
@@ToyGalaxy I mean mine is every 4 months so I’ve got time too 🤣
boba fett is the dude
That Cover Girl is so disappointing. I like everything about it but the headsculpt. If you're a Shipwreck guy, he's in my top 5 of they year.
Cover Girl's head doesn't bother me. I have Shipwreck preordered on BBTS and Amazon... neither have delivered yet.
Have yet to do my full top 10, but NECA Mirage Splinter is definitely close to #1
I don't think I'll even have bought 10 toys total by the end of the year, but I know Legacy Armada Prime would be way high up there if I had, and he hasn't even arrived yet.
Have you considered dam toys Freezeman?
I've seen the pics. Not really something I need at this time.
@@ToyGalaxy just thought a more in scale iceman as you mentioned dst too big but maybe that's too small!
Dan is obviously not into modern Transformers 😢
Do I look forward to any other figure video than this?? I don’t think so…
With Boba Fett and Warduke both locked in, shouldn't they then be #'s 1 and 2 in your line-up? Confused.
Not necessarily. I know Fett will be in the Top 10, but I'm not sure he's a number 2.
haha
So you dont like action force??
