Thanks Coach Donny. I have been watching your videos for a while and I felt the changes and improvements on my plays. I hope that you won't stop uploading videos :) Good health and God bless
I love watching your videos man! 8years now that I play volleyball in switzerland and I love your explanations, I rediscover v-ball through your vids :) Keep doing the great job mate! 😀😊
Awesome vid coach! A video idea - maybe some breakdown commentary on your games or pro games, whichever you'd prefer. It'd be cool to see what's going through a player's mind when making a decision in a game.
I've got an idea for a related series of videos: a 3-part series on hitting the Bic or back row quick combination. Part 1 could be basics of the bic and court positioning, as well as different patterns or routes for the front and back row hitters. Part 2 could be about the back row hitter's timing and when to leave for the bic, and Part 3 could be tips for the setter in running the bic and how to set it well.
Another video on this would be great, not much is talked about on youtube at all about back row attack. It is something I would love to get more info on.
The two shots into the net made me laugh because the same happened to me during a match last night. First pipe was an audible I called when the pass pulled the setter off the net and I killed it into the back left corner. Three plays later, the setter called for a pipe off another bad pass, set me a PERFECT set, and I drilled it into the net like a dork. Still working on my timing for all attacks -- it's the weakest part of my game.
Hi and thanks for the great tutorials. I am an opposite hitter and would like to see a video for hitting from back-row. Maybe you have already done it, please provide the link if so. Thanks in advance and regards,
Thanks for your lovely videos. I am very confused on which part of our hand ( i.e palm or middle finger or whole fingers ) will be used during point of contact on ball while making a spike. I would be glad if you could explain me in detail.
I only watched this cause I'm reading a haikyuu fanfic and they mentioned something about a shot from backrow so oc course we had to understand what they talking bout and this helped thanks
Today at practice I was at the back row and someone on my team hit the ball sending it up and I called it I didn’t expect to hit it but I hit it and I got my team a point mind you this was the first time I very did that and I was proud
Love the video Coach! Would you have any tips for the arm swing, and if it changes depending on whether you're hitting at the net, behind the line, or serving? I find that I, and some of my friends, hit the ball with elbows bent. Is that a matter of timing? Thanks again for the videos!
how far behind should i jump from the ball....because sometime its little backward from me....even sometimes i m too far from the ball.....so what is the ideal distance should i maintain from the ball?
Do you have any tips on how to have a stronger arm swing? And also I thought you weren’t allowed to jump when you hit in back row unless your behind the 10 foot Line but I see that he is jumping behind the 10 foot line than lands in front of it, Is that legal?
Does it take long to get used to jumping up to a spike? I’m still bad at timing my jump, and hitting the ball right, and i end up panicking as i run up to spike. When this happens, i end up in the air when the balls already under net. Does jumping in time come naturally?
nice. but isn't there also a thing about correct timing? while you run you have to look to the ball, to 3m line and (given 3rd meter atacks are not very strong) to where opposite team players are standing.
+be1337tranq YOu also have to keep in mind that this is very dependant on how the pass is set. In higher leagues the backrow pass in the middle is set rather fast so you usually start doing the jump movement shortly before the ball reaches the setter so you can abort a full jump at the last possible moment. However that only works with consistent sets (in height and distance to the net). Our aim is about 1.5m away from the net with a height of 1.5-2m depending on attacker. When starting the backrow attack it makes sense to set a higher ball so that you can adjust the jump movement and spike to the set and then once that works out fine establish a faster setting pattern.
I'm 5'5.. that's about 167. But I'm still able to jump high, when I jump my head goes above the net. My spikes are nice but need to work on my footwork more
my coach keeps on saying snap your wrist when serving and spiking. when I do it,it always goes out or when I snap it's better or I net can you help explain
bro how tall are you ?? .......m 6'2'' But still I can't able to jump to hit the ball ....but my wrist is gud on ball ....just I couldn't work that on net !...can u help me out plz
AKHIL SURYA just work on timing. That's usually the biggest problem with hitters. Keep practicing, more reps with the right technique will get you to the skill level you want to be at
Thanks Coach Donny. I have been watching your videos for a while and I felt the changes and improvements on my plays. I hope that you won't stop uploading videos :) Good health and God bless
Backrow hit has more power play, range of motion and looks amazing... intimidates the opponents......
Thanks Coach Donny. I have been watching your videos for a while and I felt the changes and improvements on my plays. I hope that you won't stop uploading videos :) Good health and God bless
Josh's approach and timing are just perfect
Your videos make me want to get back into volleyball. Keep up the great work Coach Donny!

Awesome vid coach!

I would love to see the specific hand mechanics when the ball is being hit on an attack in clear slo-mo. Has that been done? Link? Love the videos!

+Elevate Yourself LOL
Can you do a video on how to curve your serves?
josh is a beast :D
Josh kills it when there are 6 blockers at the net but doesn't when there are no blockers; at least he kills it when it matters!
Josh seemed to be hitting directly at the 6 spot with the examples. Shouldn't you be aiming to hit the deep corners at 5 and 1?
Thanks for another great video; the tips are really helpful.
